Minigames

== NOTICE == 9 Aug 2016 ==
As most of you have already worked out, public support for this project has been non existent. Unfortunately with the workload of trying to manage and run a server network where minigames is only 1 out of what feels like 1000 projects we maintain... It gets hard trying to find time to help everyone.
But fear not this project is indeed not abandoned! We have moved the project to SpigotMC:
https://www.spigotmc.org/resources/minigames.19687/
++Update Note Aug 2017++
Please Note I have provided updated downloads for all versions back to 1.7 .. We are trying to get some idea of what versions people are running still and what we need to focus on...updating will help us target our product improvements.
The files section contains various version downloads OR you can dowload them : - here
Minigames is a plugin in which users can create and play several types of Minigames on a server, without the risk of losing items or XP when they die. Players can also use checkpoints so when they die, they are reverted back to that position.
The Possible Minigame types are:
- Single Player - for jump puzzles, mazes etc.
- Last Man Standing - A multiplayer Free for All (FFA) PvP Minigame
- Race - A Multiplayer race Minigame
- Team Deathmatch - A deathmatch round against 2 teams, first to a defined score wins!
- Deathmatch - A free for all deathmatch round against any predefined amount of players, first to a defined score wins!
- Spleef - Its possible to create custom Spleef arenas, as well as your standard spleef arena.
- Treasure Hunt - A global treasure finding Minigame that is always running
- CTF - An expansion to the Team Deathmatch Minigame.
- Infection - An expansion to the Team Deathmatch Minigame where the infected players must kill all survivors.
Features:
- Prizes for completing a Minigame
- Economy support (Requires Vault)
- All command configuration for creating Minigames
- Completely customisable, lots of settings to create your own styled Minigame.
- Ability to create multiple loadouts
- Inventory saving
- XP saving
- Minigame regeneration (slightly limited)
- Timers
- An automated update checker for OP's (Can be turned off in the main config by setting updateChecker to false)
- SQL completion data storage for websites or more informative data (Requires SQLibrary)
- And lots more!
Click here for videos of this plugin in action.
Purpose:
Minigames was created for players to play games within a server and win prizes for completion, also to let players play PvP games without the risk of losing their hard earned items and XP. Minigames also reward players for completing each Minigame, or with PvP Minigames, the player can be rewarded with 'bets' that players make before they start the Minigame. These bets can be in Economy money or preset items.
These Minigames can be created in any style the player wishes, for example, parkour jump puzzles, mazes and treasure hunts. As well as PvP games like CTF, races and more. You are given a lot of options to add to each Minigame individually, so they are all completely customisable.

Metrics
This plugin utilizes Hidendra's plugin metrics system, which means that the following information is collected and sent to mcstats.org:
- A unique identifier
- The server's version of Java
- Whether the server is in offline or online mode
- The plugin's version
- The server's version
- The OS version/name and architecture
- The core count for the CPU
- The number of players online
- The Metrics version
- And the amount of players playing games. Opting out of this service can be done by editing plugins/Plugin Metrics/config.yml and changing opt-out to true.

Yeah thats why I implemented betting. Theres two types, item and cash.
Item is bets placed with iron ingots, gold ingots and diamonds and the sign is as follows:
------[Minigame]
Bet
<MinigameName>
------Cash are the same:
------[Minigame]
Bet
<MinigameName>
$BetAmount
------You can have multiple bet signs with different amounts, depending on which one the player uses will be the lowest bet at join time.

Posted Mar 13, 2013Is there a way for it to charge each player a set amount when the game starts and have the winner/s get all the money? Sort of like a ticket system where if 5 players join a free for all it charges each player $10 and the winner gets the $50, or if 10 players join a team deathmatch it will charge each player $10 and the winning team gets $20 per player? It should only charge people once the game starts since people usually leave the lobby if they get impatient while waiting.
I've had problems with players "boosting" to where 2 people join a spleef and 1 person deliberately falls and the other player gets $50 while the person who dies gets no real punishment. They can then alternate so they essentially generate free money easily.
(This isn't a ticket because I remember reading about something like cash betting but I can't figure out how that works or if it even exists so I'll file a ticket later if there isn't already a way to do this)

I'm just wondering, whenever an op logs onto the server, why does this cause a large CPU spike (larger than any other plugin)? I know it has to do with the auto-updater, but other plugins don't cause such a lag when their auto-updater is on. And yes, it was only until recently that I found out the auto-updater was causing the issue. (I've already turned it off, I'm just wondering why it eats so much CPU.)
Also, would you consider adding "Domination" to Team Deathmatch? It's basically like "CTF", except you score points by claiming a certain region for a long enough amount of time, instead of capturing flags.
EDIT: See my comment in this ticket: http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/minigames/tickets/61-op-joining-spikes-tick-count/

Oh don't worry! I've been waiting on these new features for ages. Team colours, scoreboards. This is like a dream :P
I aim to remove the score in chat and use the scoreboards on the side instead, this is in the hope that bukkit implements a way to do so.
I'm working on the bugs in 1.4.7 at the moment and I'll probably have a release over the next couple of days.

First problem was your own mistake (you didn't read the instructions on the command). When you create a loadout, you don't assign items then,
/mgm set <Minigame> loadout add ME -l Soldier
I kinda don't like the idea on having a ready block/command when there is minimum players. I added late join in 1.4.1 so you can join after the timer if players wish. The command for that is:
/mgm set <Minigame> latejoin <true/false>
@MrYfory
Most likely. I'm fairly certain its to do with the changes to rollback. I think I'll revert most of them until I implement the advanced rollback system.

Posted Mar 12, 2013I also noticed a memory leak in 1.4.1, around 200MB/24hrs, so had to revert to 1.4.0. No other plugin changes during this time. I couldn't tell you the cause as it didn't reflect in any errors, but perhaps it's related to what other people have mentioned.

Posted Mar 12, 2013I have 2 problems. One is a bug (I think) and the other is a personal issue. 1) I have placed class signs in both the lobby and the actual deathmatch arena, for multiple load outs. When you click on , say, the Soldier load out, the chatbox reads *you have been equip[ped] with the Soldier load out. However, once the game starts, my inventory is empty. To create the classes I did /mgm set deathmatch loadout create Soldier ME. The signs do seem to work, but then I do not receive the items when the minigame starts, nor do I receive them if the sign is used IN the minigame arena.
2) The server I am trying to set up the minigames mod on has varying numbers of players. So, If I wanted a minigames max players to be around 24, but only 8 people want to join, they only havea 15 second slot to do so once the first 2 players join. I do not want to increase the minimum players. Is there any way to have a 'Ready-up' block or command. So like mob arena, in which you choose your class and hit an iron block to confirm you are ready to start, or some survival games in which you have to use the command /vote before you can start.
Thanks for the great plugin btw.

Posted Mar 11, 20131.4.1 has quite a few performance issues because of the rollback feature. (Code I didn't check properly). I'll be releasing a 1.4.2 sometime this week with fixes for this and treasure hunt. 1.4.1 still works, I have no issues with it on my own server, there are just quite a few instances where it could lag the server.
@Thanozz
I'm having no issues with block breaking.
@maxmaassen12
Using the LMS game type and block breaking. This or if you have the snowblock flooring, you can just use "/mgm set <Minigame> preset spleef" in 1.4.1

Posted Mar 10, 2013Hey Razz, I would get a lot of lag at random times even when there is only one person online. I ran nolagg to examine what plugins could be causing this and it is the 1.4.1 version of minigames.
It's a massive list of 375 events of BlockFromToEvent during a 600 tick period with an average of 80ms per event.
As insanely awesome 1.4.1 is, I unfortunately have to roll back to 1.4 because of the insane amount of lag. Wondering if anyone else has this problem.

Okay, but I think i'm also not the only one who thinks a option or config where you can set the respawn protection timer.. I mean, if we have a dm minigame, the spawns can be like very near of other spawns, so the respawn protection is a little bit annoying :/
To Blockdrops: "Block drop Items: true", and what do you mean with "using an item that allows a block to drop"? Do you mean Shovel, Pickaxe, Axe? Yeah, Im using them.
