As most of you have already worked out, public support for this project has been non existent. Unfortunately with the workload of trying to manage and run a server network where minigames is only 1 out of what feels like 1000 projects we maintain... It gets hard trying to find time to help everyone.
But fear not this project is indeed not abandoned! We have moved the project to SpigotMC:

Please Note I have provided updated downloads for all versions back to 1.7 .. We are trying to get some idea of what versions people are running still and what we need to focus on...updating will help us target our product improvements.

Minigames is a plugin in which users can create and play several types of Minigames on a server, without the risk of losing items or XP when they die. Players can also use checkpoints so when they die, they are reverted back to that position.
The Possible Minigame types are:
- Single Player - for jump puzzles, mazes etc.
- Last Man Standing - A multiplayer Free for All (FFA) PvP Minigame
- Race - A Multiplayer race Minigame
- Team Deathmatch - A deathmatch round against 2 teams, first to a defined score wins!
- Deathmatch - A free for all deathmatch round against any predefined amount of players, first to a defined score wins!
- Spleef - Its possible to create custom Spleef arenas, as well as your standard spleef arena.
- Treasure Hunt - A global treasure finding Minigame that is always running
- CTF - An expansion to the Team Deathmatch Minigame.
- Infection - An expansion to the Team Deathmatch Minigame where the infected players must kill all survivors.

Purpose:
Minigames was created for players to play games within a server and win prizes for completion, also to let players play PvP games without the risk of losing their hard earned items and XP. Minigames also reward players for completing each Minigame, or with PvP Minigames, the player can be rewarded with 'bets' that players make before they start the Minigame. These bets can be in Economy money or preset items.
These Minigames can be created in any style the player wishes, for example, parkour jump puzzles, mazes and treasure hunts. As well as PvP games like CTF, races and more. You are given a lot of options to add to each Minigame individually, so they are all completely customisable.

Metrics
This plugin utilizes Hidendra's plugin metrics system, which means that the following information is collected and sent to mcstats.org:
- A unique identifier
- The server's version of Java
- Whether the server is in offline or online mode
- The plugin's version
- The server's version
- The OS version/name and architecture
- The core count for the CPU
- The number of players online
- The Metrics version
- And the amount of players playing games. Opting out of this service can be done by editing plugins/Plugin Metrics/config.yml and changing opt-out to true.

Posted Jan 1, 2013_Razz_ : There are specific instances in which it's handy. Granted, with more teams you might as well make it more just straight Deathmatch, but with more players you can accommodate Four Team Deathmatch or Four Team CTF with great success.
I'll use your advice to fix the respawning chests. As for regenerating regions, as much as I am all for that (and I am), regenerating spleef arenas are already noticably laggy (slight, but noticable), regenerating an entire arena must be even worse. I don't suppose there's the option to make a schematic of the arena, check for changes made to the arena at the minigame's end, then replace ONLY the blocks that were affected/altered? I think I've seen similar design in Mob Arena, if that's of any help.

Its a name for the individual block, not a group. You have to name every one differently. Its just so you can delete them if you want to later. This is still a relatively new plugin too, I am no where near finished with it yet. CTF is next along with regenerating regions. On the mention of more than 2 teams, doesn't that get a bit... complex? I thought about doing it, but not many games actually use more than two teams.

Have you updated? Also they should already be in the main config. You just need to modify their values.

Posted Jan 1, 2013Also, I'm a bit lost when it comes to the 'restore block' feature. You must specify which minigame arena the chests are for (Battleships, for instance), but then you must also give them a group name, and with all this done and my chests added to this other group, they're not respawning. I think the group name is confusing and causing the feature to not work for my new arena. How does one use the automated 'restore block' features, then?
"/mgm set BattleShips restoreblock add Ships -l" is what I'm typing in, but the chests do not refill.

Posted Jan 1, 2013Got a number of your Minigames being run on my server as well. Minigames is my go-to PVP arena creator replacing the outdated 'Warhub' system (http://war.tommytony.com/). I used to have 21 arenas through that plugin, but now I've been trying to remake them all using the Minigames system. It's not possible, as Warhub offered a good many features that Minigames currently does not (stable CTF, multiple teams over 2, capture points, regenerating regions), but I've recreated quite a few.

I didnt edit the individual configs. I added those options to the global config. After deleting the folder, un-installing and re-installing i cant even get spleef to start....

DON'T modify the individual Minigame configs! waitforplayers and startcountdown are global config options ONLY to be set in the main config! Same with degeneration. Everything thats added to the individual Minigame config files are all set through commands.

Posted Dec 31, 2012Spent 8h making an huge scenario Arena with huge ammount of secrets with new Loadouts.. Ppl are amazed with the scenario . always full :D Love the plugin. Can i ask you if u can add a messagen when they try to join an Minigame and it says: A game is already running. Wait until it ends. Or something like that? :))

in the config for spleef thinking it would do what it says. Now i cant turn degeneration off, players wont spawn in the game, and the floor keep generating and degenerating. I tried deleting the minigames folder and restarting the server. That didnt help either. help?

Posted Dec 31, 2012I doubled check that I was not doing anything wrong this time. All my positions are set as I make a TDM. Including quit/end pos. But as I play a game with one friend and I win he will not get teleported back and vice versa. The winner still gets teleported, but the looser is not. Any help please?
Edit: After a bit more testing with 2 players in one team and 1 in another we discovered that the victim, the last kill is the one not getting teped back to lobby. as he hits the respawn button he gets tped back with his normal gear into the battlefield. However the other person in the 2 man team, the one not being killed got tped back correctly.
conclution: The one who is the last kill in TDM is not teleported back to lobby and is instead teleported back into the arena.

Posted Dec 31, 2012I thought the plugin was working fine for me, but now it has just gone and developed a whole bunch of issues
When ever anyone clicks a join sign it does nothing and then they can no longer place/break blocks or fly or, well, do anything o.O says they're in a minigame, but they can't /mgm quit
I guess I'll just remove it and wait on the update :P unless you need any more testers for the dev build.

I know why your asking, I had to hide my checkpoint/finish signs behind stuff.
Be surprised how many people found ways to click it even by trying to break the block.
Maybe a switch/button with the sign next to it? :)

Its not the Power Lose :) But Bypass the damage on own factions members. People inside same factions cant hurt themselfs - but if was possible to add that option inside minigames :) becouse if they go oposite teams they cannot hurt themselfs :(
