As most of you have already worked out, public support for this project has been non existent. Unfortunately with the workload of trying to manage and run a server network where minigames is only 1 out of what feels like 1000 projects we maintain... It gets hard trying to find time to help everyone.
But fear not this project is indeed not abandoned! We have moved the project to SpigotMC:

Please Note I have provided updated downloads for all versions back to 1.7 .. We are trying to get some idea of what versions people are running still and what we need to focus on...updating will help us target our product improvements.

Minigames is a plugin in which users can create and play several types of Minigames on a server, without the risk of losing items or XP when they die. Players can also use checkpoints so when they die, they are reverted back to that position.
The Possible Minigame types are:
- Single Player - for jump puzzles, mazes etc.
- Last Man Standing - A multiplayer Free for All (FFA) PvP Minigame
- Race - A Multiplayer race Minigame
- Team Deathmatch - A deathmatch round against 2 teams, first to a defined score wins!
- Deathmatch - A free for all deathmatch round against any predefined amount of players, first to a defined score wins!
- Spleef - Its possible to create custom Spleef arenas, as well as your standard spleef arena.
- Treasure Hunt - A global treasure finding Minigame that is always running
- CTF - An expansion to the Team Deathmatch Minigame.
- Infection - An expansion to the Team Deathmatch Minigame where the infected players must kill all survivors.

Purpose:
Minigames was created for players to play games within a server and win prizes for completion, also to let players play PvP games without the risk of losing their hard earned items and XP. Minigames also reward players for completing each Minigame, or with PvP Minigames, the player can be rewarded with 'bets' that players make before they start the Minigame. These bets can be in Economy money or preset items.
These Minigames can be created in any style the player wishes, for example, parkour jump puzzles, mazes and treasure hunts. As well as PvP games like CTF, races and more. You are given a lot of options to add to each Minigame individually, so they are all completely customisable.

Metrics
This plugin utilizes Hidendra's plugin metrics system, which means that the following information is collected and sent to mcstats.org:
- A unique identifier
- The server's version of Java
- Whether the server is in offline or online mode
- The plugin's version
- The server's version
- The OS version/name and architecture
- The core count for the CPU
- The number of players online
- The Metrics version
- And the amount of players playing games. Opting out of this service can be done by editing plugins/Plugin Metrics/config.yml and changing opt-out to true.

Im not exactly sure what you mean, ive been to that wiki, and i use it often (every time i create an arena so i dont miss any of the set commands). The answers to my questions are not on the wiki, so I dont know what the point was of linking to the wiki.
I have also tried the latest dev version (1.7.0) on a test server to see if any of these things are resolved in that version, this is where i found that there is a flight flag you can set on the arenas in the latest dev version, and there was the addition of regions, and the regions can do some pretty complex things, but they dont protect the arenas. There is also no instabreak flag in the latest version, so again ... what was the point of linking to the wiki?

Posted Jul 15, 2014Can we have a /mg team command? (Defaults to OP). Basically it gives you priority on joining a certain team, but it doesn't change the team balancing. We could also have a /mg forceteam command, that would ignore balancing and just put you on that team.

Posted Jul 14, 2014I promise this is the last post for a while, is it possible to disable the "You are not allowed to fly in Minigames" check for a certain Minigame (or for all of them, i dont care which).
EDIT: I see there is a flight set command in the latest dev version, nevermind.

Posted Jul 14, 2014Seems like we are running into nothing but problems lately.
The latest issue, is there is nothing to protect the arenas ... you dont set a region as part of the arena setup, so the Minigames plugin doesnt do anything to protect the arenas from being damaged. Not i know I am going to get the response, "Put a WorldGuard Region over it". Well that doesnt help me for the arenas where breaking blocks are required. And I could use passthrough, but you can still access chests and such. Plus, the worldguard region would prevent the chest access ... and if i set chest access or build to allow ... then the same issue persists.
Some of our brilliant players (i swear i wish we had dumber players that couldnt figure this shit out), figured out that after they die in the arena and get teleported to the end point, they can /back to go right back to the arena and do whatever they want. I logged on to find one of my lobbys broken and the chests all emptied on another one of the arenas.
Now that all being said, Im currently setting the end point to our spawn so players get booted back to spawn when the arena ends or they quit. I can get around the /back issue by setting the endpoint in the same world (we have a separate world just for arenas), and take away /back in our arena world. And then hope that when they do /spawn and then /back that it takes them to the endpoint and not back to the arena ...
The plugin has a ton of complex features, which is awesome ... but it seems to be lacking the basics .... which is kinda frustrating. If I cant resolve these issues then im going to have to just uninstall the plugin, we love the plugin ... but we cant have unprotected arenas just sitting there.

Thanks for the info, unfortunately that doesnt resolve my issue.
The floor IS made of snow, and I did give the players shovels .... but the players can still smack eachother with the shovels instead of breaking the floor. The whole premise behind spleef is to break the floor under the person, why do that if i can smack the guy in the face with a shovel and win in 3 seconds.
As for the pvp flag in worldguard, i tried that, but we use a separate plugin to manage PvP (primarily so we can offer the ability to toggle pvp on and off to donators), and the worldguard pvp flag doesnt effect the separate PvP plugin, so players can still hit eachother.
We used to use the WAR plugin (the one by tommytony) and there is a flag that you can set on your arena called instabreak. This lets you punch blocks and break them instantly as if you are in creative, so im sure its possible to do, not to mention all the spleef plugins that have instabreak built in. Maybe I should open a feature request to request an instabreak flag to be added as a Set Command. This way, players can break the snow with their fists, and if they decide to punch the other player, they can do so, but punching someone to death is a little harder to do, so i wouldnt be as worried about that then. Just seems like a pretty basic request especially for Spleef, so im a little surprised that it isnt an option, given that there are a ton of options available for a variety of other things.

Well actually, I have permission and everything. I am able to run the command outside of the mini game, and if I didn't have permission I wouldn't be able to do it outside the arena. Also, it says "You can't do that command while in the minigame" (or something like that) so, it's the minigame plugin not the overall permissions.

Well while thats true, and i dont wanna be a dick, but it still makes the purpose of the plugin useless, cause then i can use WorldGuard and CommandBlocks for all of this and it would still do better then this plugin would. So the plugin is for the moment = useless.

Posted Jul 14, 2014@grasty As far as I know, the tool they use to break the floor has to fit, eg Floor: Snowblock Tool: Shovel You can disable pvp in the arena by setting a worldguard flag

Posted Jul 13, 2014So we are running into issues with Spleef. I have an arena setup, but i couldnt find an option to let players instant break blocks, so i had to give them enchanted shovels in the loadout to allow them to instabreak the blocks. Well some players found out they can just not break the floor and beat eachother to death with the shovels instead, which kinda defeats the purpose of spleef. Is there an instabreak option somewhere that isnt documented? or did i miss something? Or can i stop them from attacking eachother?

No, remember that the command is getting run by a player, unless the player has the permission to run the assigned command, it will not work.

My apologies you're right about that as far as I know. The only other way I know, is if you have the plugin rpgItems.
If you don't know what it is, take a look http://rpgitems2.webs.com/ You can create unique items with commands. You could add the /spawnmob command to an item then add it to the Loadout.
If not, I'm out of ideas so maybe Razz could help you out there (:

Actually in the config it only says "disabledCommands" and it only says three: warp, spawn and home. spawnmob (which is the command I want to be enabled) is not in the list, but it still tells me that I can not do this while I am in a minigame. And there is no "enabledCommands" or anything similar to that in the config, even if I do put that in with -spawnmob underneath it, it still won't work. So is there a hidden whitelist and blacklist that I do not know about?

i literally just /kick all the players about 30 seconds before restart but you can execute:
/mgm quit all spleef /mgm quit all splegg /mgm quit all parkour
etc. So many minigames to end/quit so i chose just to kick them, as a restart would just do the same thing, eventually. :P
