Minigames

== NOTICE == 9 Aug 2016 ==
As most of you have already worked out, public support for this project has been non existent. Unfortunately with the workload of trying to manage and run a server network where minigames is only 1 out of what feels like 1000 projects we maintain... It gets hard trying to find time to help everyone.
But fear not this project is indeed not abandoned! We have moved the project to SpigotMC:
https://www.spigotmc.org/resources/minigames.19687/
++Update Note Aug 2017++
Please Note I have provided updated downloads for all versions back to 1.7 .. We are trying to get some idea of what versions people are running still and what we need to focus on...updating will help us target our product improvements.
The files section contains various version downloads OR you can dowload them : - here
Minigames is a plugin in which users can create and play several types of Minigames on a server, without the risk of losing items or XP when they die. Players can also use checkpoints so when they die, they are reverted back to that position.
The Possible Minigame types are:
- Single Player - for jump puzzles, mazes etc.
- Last Man Standing - A multiplayer Free for All (FFA) PvP Minigame
- Race - A Multiplayer race Minigame
- Team Deathmatch - A deathmatch round against 2 teams, first to a defined score wins!
- Deathmatch - A free for all deathmatch round against any predefined amount of players, first to a defined score wins!
- Spleef - Its possible to create custom Spleef arenas, as well as your standard spleef arena.
- Treasure Hunt - A global treasure finding Minigame that is always running
- CTF - An expansion to the Team Deathmatch Minigame.
- Infection - An expansion to the Team Deathmatch Minigame where the infected players must kill all survivors.
Features:
- Prizes for completing a Minigame
- Economy support (Requires Vault)
- All command configuration for creating Minigames
- Completely customisable, lots of settings to create your own styled Minigame.
- Ability to create multiple loadouts
- Inventory saving
- XP saving
- Minigame regeneration (slightly limited)
- Timers
- An automated update checker for OP's (Can be turned off in the main config by setting updateChecker to false)
- SQL completion data storage for websites or more informative data (Requires SQLibrary)
- And lots more!
Click here for videos of this plugin in action.
Purpose:
Minigames was created for players to play games within a server and win prizes for completion, also to let players play PvP games without the risk of losing their hard earned items and XP. Minigames also reward players for completing each Minigame, or with PvP Minigames, the player can be rewarded with 'bets' that players make before they start the Minigame. These bets can be in Economy money or preset items.
These Minigames can be created in any style the player wishes, for example, parkour jump puzzles, mazes and treasure hunts. As well as PvP games like CTF, races and more. You are given a lot of options to add to each Minigame individually, so they are all completely customisable.

Metrics
This plugin utilizes Hidendra's plugin metrics system, which means that the following information is collected and sent to mcstats.org:
- A unique identifier
- The server's version of Java
- Whether the server is in offline or online mode
- The plugin's version
- The server's version
- The OS version/name and architecture
- The core count for the CPU
- The number of players online
- The Metrics version
- And the amount of players playing games. Opting out of this service can be done by editing plugins/Plugin Metrics/config.yml and changing opt-out to true.

Posted Jun 28, 2013Sorry, I probably should post this in a forum or other but I was just wondering if I could get a quick easy answer to setting rewards for the WINNERS of the minigame, not just everyone who plays.
In my server I'd like people to get 1 Gold Ingot when they win a minigame, those ingots can then be used to buy armor etc.. (economy) I've been using the Minigames plugin for awhile and have set up multiple minigames but would like to edit the reward in this manner. Please be as blunt as possible because I am not looking for much, Thanks!

Posted Jun 27, 2013Sorry for the delay on the fixes guys, I decided to take a break from Minigames for a couple weeks after I had worked on 1.5 for nearly 2 months. Back into it now and fixed a couple bugs, but I also started rewriting some of the base systems to hopefully fix a few more issues with inventory loss due to quitting and players getting stuck within a Minigame. I'll be releasing as soon as I test these major changes. (Probably sometime after 1.6)
@xXGiusXx
Theres a ticket for it already, just wait and stop asking.
@TWSSYesterday
Just enable the SQL settings in the main config.
@CinnamonVirus
/mg set <Minigame> drops player true
@HerobrineLivesHere
Not yet but there will be.
@Richardarkless
I do plan to support more than 2 teams now that I've implemented the Scoreboard API. The second idea sounds good too, I'll think about implementing that one.

Posted Jun 24, 2013Razz I really like this plugin. So do all my players and staff. The main problem with it for us is the lack of documentation. Today one of the admins tried to create an Infection minigame but ended up ragequitting because he couldn't do it nor could he find any documentation on it.
More documentation would really be appreciated!!! Thanks!

Not presently, that is a plan however.
@FlameKissedBacon
Eventually yes.
@tehZed
Ugh, I've really messed them up haven't I? I'll have to fix that.
@checked01
Are you on the newest version?
@Battelman2
Not sure, I think other people have done it, but I wouldn't know how they do it. As for the XP, maybe.
@PalominosVIP
Its as simple as I can make it. I do plan on more presets though. If there were any other way to improve its simplicity I would do it. But there isn't.
@Richardarkless
1. Sounds like a good idea, I'll think about that. 2. Its already in. /minigame set <Minigame> savecheckpoints true
@geofri1997
I'll take a look.
@feeg1
ME seems to do some strange things, I'd recommend using SLOT instead for now. The enderpearl one isn't a bug, its intended to stop people from using glitchy enderpearls to leave the arena.
@Arrxzon
Losing connection shouldn't lose your inventory. As soon as you rejoin it should be returned to you, unless you're using one of those AuthMe plugins or something?

Posted Jun 22, 2013So I made an arena, and created classes for it, then used the ME part of loadout. Some items duplicated, and when someone is hit by anything their armor disappears... Also, people can't use enderpearls because it is treated as a teleport.

Posted Jun 21, 2013Hey I had another request/suggestion!
When you store the player's inventory could you make it so it stores their XP as well?
Simply because in my TDM I have enchanting stations and I want players to have to find hidden bottles o' enchanting! But if their XP levels conflict with their "outside" XP then that is not an option.
Thank you for your consideration and hard work! - Battelman2

Regen areas are nice and a step towards what I am looking for, but the problem is that when it regens the area it does not delete it first. Therefore when it regens all of the leaves post-game they all start to decay again. Is there a way to make it so I can trigger a series of (World Edit) commands when a game is completed or something of that nature?
Thank you!
