Minigames

== NOTICE == 9 Aug 2016 ==
As most of you have already worked out, public support for this project has been non existent. Unfortunately with the workload of trying to manage and run a server network where minigames is only 1 out of what feels like 1000 projects we maintain... It gets hard trying to find time to help everyone.
But fear not this project is indeed not abandoned! We have moved the project to SpigotMC:

++Update Note Aug 2017++
Please Note I have provided updated downloads for all versions back to 1.7 .. We are trying to get some idea of what versions people are running still and what we need to focus on...updating will help us target our product improvements.
The files section contains various version downloads OR you can dowload them : - here
Minigames is a plugin in which users can create and play several types of Minigames on a server, without the risk of losing items or XP when they die. Players can also use checkpoints so when they die, they are reverted back to that position.
The Possible Minigame types are:
- Single Player - for jump puzzles, mazes etc.
- Last Man Standing - A multiplayer Free for All (FFA) PvP Minigame
- Race - A Multiplayer race Minigame
- Team Deathmatch - A deathmatch round against 2 teams, first to a defined score wins!
- Deathmatch - A free for all deathmatch round against any predefined amount of players, first to a defined score wins!
- Spleef - Its possible to create custom Spleef arenas, as well as your standard spleef arena.
- Treasure Hunt - A global treasure finding Minigame that is always running
- CTF - An expansion to the Team Deathmatch Minigame.
- Infection - An expansion to the Team Deathmatch Minigame where the infected players must kill all survivors.
Features:
- Prizes for completing a Minigame
- Economy support (Requires Vault)
- All command configuration for creating Minigames
- Completely customisable, lots of settings to create your own styled Minigame.
- Ability to create multiple loadouts
- Inventory saving
- XP saving
- Minigame regeneration (slightly limited)
- Timers
- An automated update checker for OP's (Can be turned off in the main config by setting updateChecker to false)
- SQL completion data storage for websites or more informative data (Requires SQLibrary)
- And lots more!
Click here for videos of this plugin in action.
Purpose:
Minigames was created for players to play games within a server and win prizes for completion, also to let players play PvP games without the risk of losing their hard earned items and XP. Minigames also reward players for completing each Minigame, or with PvP Minigames, the player can be rewarded with 'bets' that players make before they start the Minigame. These bets can be in Economy money or preset items.
These Minigames can be created in any style the player wishes, for example, parkour jump puzzles, mazes and treasure hunts. As well as PvP games like CTF, races and more. You are given a lot of options to add to each Minigame individually, so they are all completely customisable.

Metrics
This plugin utilizes Hidendra's plugin metrics system, which means that the following information is collected and sent to mcstats.org:
- A unique identifier
- The server's version of Java
- Whether the server is in offline or online mode
- The plugin's version
- The server's version
- The OS version/name and architecture
- The core count for the CPU
- The number of players online

Posted Jun 1, 2013How do I name a loadout? I'm using the newest version.
I type /mgm set <minigame> loadout add ME -l "Lol"
But it says "Lol" is not a loadout in <minigame>.
Thanks man love the plugin SO much.

Posted May 31, 2013Getting tons of inventory issues ever since I added multiplayer games, I can tell you it works fine in SP games those never gave me any issues.
Some seem to be inventory just disappearing, others spawn in the minigame and die.
Bringing this up again cause it can solve 50% of those issues....
/mg set GAME deathblock 19
/mg set GAME revertblock 22
Would be awesome to add ;)

Posted May 31, 2013An option to require players to have an empty inventory before joining may also be very useful to avoid any possible loss of inventory etc.

Wow I am really EXCITED about the "using own inventory" feature! Actually, it adds more potencial of making different style of minigames than people might think. Like, you can bring your own gear to defeat opposite side of factions in CTF game and such.
Thanks for all of your hard work! Your plugin is my server's CORE plugin!

Thats a planned feature that I hope to add.
@CoasterCrazy
Ah so /mgm reload causes it? I've been wondering why it happened for a while now, Thanks! Yes clearing them should make them go away.

Posted May 30, 2013Hi, been using your plugin a week. I love it very nicely done sir. I have a few of questions 1. Is there a way to record times and maybe send to SQL 2. I'm having trouble with bets. Trying to add to my pvp's and races but can't. Should I have enabled it somewhere? Or will it work just off sign?? 3. Any idea.s on best way to make kingofthehill style game. Oh 1 more thing your commands page could be better arranged. But I'm splitting hairs, it's a great plugin Thankyou very very much

Posted May 30, 2013I did a config edit and typed /mgm reload and some games now start with duplicate loadouts. This one for example:
http://pastebin.com/NEXx75L5
If I delete everything from "7": and on, will that stop the duplicate inventory?
Thanks!

The best way to do this would to be to create a new world and put your minigames in there. You can exclude worlds with both factions and pvptimer. Otherwise, just for factions, you can claim the area as a warzone and set the configuration to having no power loss in warzone.

Tried restarting the server? Also check for console errors on startup.

Posted May 29, 2013Hey, I recently updated from 1.4.3 to 1.5.1 and about 90% of my minigames "disappeared." If I do /mg list, they are all under there but if I try joining the minigame or doing /mg info I get told that the minigame by that name does not exist. I've looked into the config files and they are identical both on 1.4.3 and 1.5.1, unless the formatting is supposed to change. Is there a fix to this? I have too many minigames to have to remake all of them, but I want the 1.5.1 features. Thanks.

You may have to ask the authors of PVPTimer about it, I'm not sure I can stop it from my end.

2 options...
A. Make a Warzone, with /f claim warzone
B. Make a new world and disable faction related stuff in that world

Posted May 29, 2013In a last man standing how would I make it so other plugins don't interfere with minigames such as pvptimer or factions (factions players lose their power).

Posted May 29, 2013Added information on loadouts and more information on Minigame regeneration to the Minigames wiki. If you haven't seen it already, go take a look, you may learn about something you're not aware of yet. Its very incomplete currently but its slowly getting there.

Tell me what happens in the Minigame too. Like whats it about and whats the objective. Not sure what "Task: Single" is though :/
@xStanky
Did you set the type to CTF and DONT add the flags via command, thats stops it from working.
@GodricGriffindor
/mg set <Minigame> loadout create Archer
/mg set <Minigame> loadout add <ItemName/ItemID/ME/SLOT> -l Archer
Then use the signs to let players equip them. See description for these.
@Thepom360
It really depends. I can't give you an exact amount of ram because it uses how much it needs. Minigames themselves take up data. Player inventory storing takes up data. Block recording takes data. But you don't have to use some of this, nor does it take up much. Though it depends on what the Minigames doing. Some examples would be a lot of loadouts per Minigame, another would be a lot of players playing at once and how many items they were holding before they joined. So its hard to give you an estimate of how much Ram it would use, because it all depends on what you do with the plugin.
TL;DR: It depends on what you do with Minigames. But its not that much really.
