As most of you have already worked out, public support for this project has been non existent. Unfortunately with the workload of trying to manage and run a server network where minigames is only 1 out of what feels like 1000 projects we maintain... It gets hard trying to find time to help everyone.
But fear not this project is indeed not abandoned! We have moved the project to SpigotMC:

Please Note I have provided updated downloads for all versions back to 1.7 .. We are trying to get some idea of what versions people are running still and what we need to focus on...updating will help us target our product improvements.

Minigames is a plugin in which users can create and play several types of Minigames on a server, without the risk of losing items or XP when they die. Players can also use checkpoints so when they die, they are reverted back to that position.
The Possible Minigame types are:
- Single Player - for jump puzzles, mazes etc.
- Last Man Standing - A multiplayer Free for All (FFA) PvP Minigame
- Race - A Multiplayer race Minigame
- Team Deathmatch - A deathmatch round against 2 teams, first to a defined score wins!
- Deathmatch - A free for all deathmatch round against any predefined amount of players, first to a defined score wins!
- Spleef - Its possible to create custom Spleef arenas, as well as your standard spleef arena.
- Treasure Hunt - A global treasure finding Minigame that is always running
- CTF - An expansion to the Team Deathmatch Minigame.
- Infection - An expansion to the Team Deathmatch Minigame where the infected players must kill all survivors.

Purpose:
Minigames was created for players to play games within a server and win prizes for completion, also to let players play PvP games without the risk of losing their hard earned items and XP. Minigames also reward players for completing each Minigame, or with PvP Minigames, the player can be rewarded with 'bets' that players make before they start the Minigame. These bets can be in Economy money or preset items.
These Minigames can be created in any style the player wishes, for example, parkour jump puzzles, mazes and treasure hunts. As well as PvP games like CTF, races and more. You are given a lot of options to add to each Minigame individually, so they are all completely customisable.

Metrics
This plugin utilizes Hidendra's plugin metrics system, which means that the following information is collected and sent to mcstats.org:
- A unique identifier
- The server's version of Java
- Whether the server is in offline or online mode
- The plugin's version
- The server's version
- The OS version/name and architecture
- The core count for the CPU
- The number of players online
- The Metrics version
- And the amount of players playing games. Opting out of this service can be done by editing plugins/Plugin Metrics/config.yml and changing opt-out to true.

I don't think I've seen this suggested but it would be super duper awesome if you could add a grace period. What I mean is, when the minigame starts, there's a timer counting down the grace period. During the grace period, players can't damage other players. Once it ends, they can be hurt by other players. This would make my hunger games maps so much better and I am confident other users of your most awesome plugin would find it a very cool and useful addition.

Your plugin does not have enough ponies in it. Please add more ponies. This plugin needs 76% more ponies before I will be happy, and then subsequently want more ponies.

Posted Apr 16, 2013Restoreblocks haven't been working properly for me. I set up 2 dispenser restoreblocks in a singleplayer minigame (one full of creepers and one full of invisibility potion), but after a few times playing the game the dispensers were empty again and I had to refill them.

Yes team specific loadouts are possible, just create 2 loadouts, one called "red" and the other "blue" and they'll be assigned correctly by default (instead of the "default" loadout).
I did add a late join feature and setting the score type to none can produce the effect, though respawning items would need to be added (planned) and currently the last player in the Minigame would win if no one else was in it. But it'd work

Posted Apr 15, 2013Hello, is there a way to create different loadouts for each team? I would like to add red leather armor for a red team and blue leather armor for a blue team. If not, will this feature be added?
Also another question - are you planning on to add some kind of battleground? An arena, which runs 24/7 and people can join/leave/queue. Something similar like in World of Warcraft. Thanks!

Oh look at that. Yes just added a way to identify the flag carrier (puffs of flames come off them). Now that I've changed the way teams are created I will add the ability to create more than 2 teams, probably not by next release though, may be messy and I'm trying to clean up before release now.

Seems you have competition. http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/ultimatearena/ Just found it on Bukkit Server Mods. I choose to continue using Minigames Mod, but they do have some functionality you do not. Might be something to consider in the future, if you're looking to expand. Also, I mentioned this earlier, but do you have a way of visually identifying the flag carrier from the other players yet? ...One more thought. Is it possible to make an MGM arena with more than the two (red and blue) teams?

Posted Apr 13, 2013Hey, me again, yes I know I'm annoying and all that but anyway, I have tried to set up a CTF arena and was doing all good, I didn't set up the individual spawn points since you make team spawn points which is what I did, but now everyone spawns in one place no matter what the team spawning points are both teams randomly start in my map...? Any pointers, or am I being a noob? lol
