Minigames

== NOTICE == 9 Aug 2016 ==
As most of you have already worked out, public support for this project has been non existent. Unfortunately with the workload of trying to manage and run a server network where minigames is only 1 out of what feels like 1000 projects we maintain... It gets hard trying to find time to help everyone.
But fear not this project is indeed not abandoned! We have moved the project to SpigotMC:
https://www.spigotmc.org/resources/minigames.19687/
++Update Note Aug 2017++
Please Note I have provided updated downloads for all versions back to 1.7 .. We are trying to get some idea of what versions people are running still and what we need to focus on...updating will help us target our product improvements.
The files section contains various version downloads OR you can dowload them : - here
Minigames is a plugin in which users can create and play several types of Minigames on a server, without the risk of losing items or XP when they die. Players can also use checkpoints so when they die, they are reverted back to that position.
The Possible Minigame types are:
- Single Player - for jump puzzles, mazes etc.
- Last Man Standing - A multiplayer Free for All (FFA) PvP Minigame
- Race - A Multiplayer race Minigame
- Team Deathmatch - A deathmatch round against 2 teams, first to a defined score wins!
- Deathmatch - A free for all deathmatch round against any predefined amount of players, first to a defined score wins!
- Spleef - Its possible to create custom Spleef arenas, as well as your standard spleef arena.
- Treasure Hunt - A global treasure finding Minigame that is always running
- CTF - An expansion to the Team Deathmatch Minigame.
- Infection - An expansion to the Team Deathmatch Minigame where the infected players must kill all survivors.
Features:
- Prizes for completing a Minigame
- Economy support (Requires Vault)
- All command configuration for creating Minigames
- Completely customisable, lots of settings to create your own styled Minigame.
- Ability to create multiple loadouts
- Inventory saving
- XP saving
- Minigame regeneration (slightly limited)
- Timers
- An automated update checker for OP's (Can be turned off in the main config by setting updateChecker to false)
- SQL completion data storage for websites or more informative data (Requires SQLibrary)
- And lots more!
Click here for videos of this plugin in action.
Purpose:
Minigames was created for players to play games within a server and win prizes for completion, also to let players play PvP games without the risk of losing their hard earned items and XP. Minigames also reward players for completing each Minigame, or with PvP Minigames, the player can be rewarded with 'bets' that players make before they start the Minigame. These bets can be in Economy money or preset items.
These Minigames can be created in any style the player wishes, for example, parkour jump puzzles, mazes and treasure hunts. As well as PvP games like CTF, races and more. You are given a lot of options to add to each Minigame individually, so they are all completely customisable.

Metrics
This plugin utilizes Hidendra's plugin metrics system, which means that the following information is collected and sent to mcstats.org:
- A unique identifier
- The server's version of Java
- Whether the server is in offline or online mode
- The plugin's version
- The server's version
- The OS version/name and architecture
- The core count for the CPU
- The number of players online
- The Metrics version
- And the amount of players playing games. Opting out of this service can be done by editing plugins/Plugin Metrics/config.yml and changing opt-out to true.

Posted Apr 11, 2013...while I'm here and we're on the subject of degenerating spleef floors, if you added support for two seperate areas of degenerating floor than made it degenerate in a vertical manner (or on a delayed timer, or similar), you realize you could effectively emulate a game of The Walls using MGM?
...and another thing. If it is at all possible, I would love you forever if you could make it so that TNT destroys blocks in some arenas, but not others (while still doing damage to players/mobs). WorldGuard prevents damage to blocks and players simultaneously and there's no way to achieve these effects individually in specific MGM arenas without the use of additional plugins (such as AntiCreeper3, which I'm using only to separate block damage from player damage).

I see you're holding out on us then. Hehe. I use your plugin heavily on my mini-games server, which I'm always eager to post and share. I always look forward to every new version to see what new games I can do with it.
Back to why I'm here, I discovered that setting a MGM loadout by using '/mgm set (gamename) loadout add ME' has a flaw in that it does not recognize non-conventional blocks for hats. Using Essentials' /hat, I put glass on my head and tried to save that as a loadout, but instead the glass was put into my inventory when entering the Mini-game. Is this something you'd like to add support for in the future?

Yes, I implemented multiple floor degeneration types; random, inward and circular in my current dev build. Random can have a modified percent chance when setting it and all degeneration types can now have their own time delay (instead of the singular global one).
No, the version I have released currently doesn't have support for a lot of regeneration, my development version has heaps more, including tnt, better leaf decay regen, falling blocks and a few more.

Are you implying that the automagical shrinking spleef floors can disappear at random, instead of shrinking from the outside-in, in order to accomplish this minigame? Keep in mind that that would mean MGM would be able to revert falling blocks like gravel and sand (and anvils). I wasn't aware it was able to do that currently?

Spigot RB came out just before Bukkit 1.5.1 Beta R0.1 came out. And build 1.4.3 of this plugin is made for Bukkit Beta. The solution is to get the Spigot build #755. It is the equivalent to the latest beta version of Bukkit. Oddly, the RB of Spigot is an old dev. version of Bukkit and not the Beta version of Bukkit. Strange I know, hope this helps! :)

Ohh, I've made that possible in the next version already. In fact, a player on my server made one with anvils and we have it running already. Its quite fun.

@saxons12
Interesting, hopefully I already have that fixed but I'll make sure.

Posted Apr 9, 2013Any word on a solution for allowing specific Teleporters in MGM? Like a sign saying:
[Minigame] Teleport LavaPit
Takes you to the destination Lavapit (perhaps another sign?). I have a number of old maps that require teleportation because the games I'm pulling them from used them (Quake 1: DM6, E3M1, also Facing Worlds, McKinley Base, Blood Gulch, etc, etc...). I'm finding myself a bit stuck until I have some type of solution to this because these old maps sometimes allow no means of transit between locations except for teleportation.

Friend had that issue, for some reason on his server the title of the minigame would get the first letter capitalized and then it would not let you join by the sign.
The command worked fine though.
I believe I am running an older build which hasn't given that problem.

Posted Apr 7, 2013So, I'm right clicking my sign, and nothing is happening.
The sign is...
[mgm]
Join
ValleyCTF
MGM is replaced with Minigame and Join is green, but right clicking it does nothing.
Using /join works perfectly. The sign doesn't do anything whatsoever.
Edit: Now it seems to be working. I restarted my server, and then had to set the quit and lobby positions again. Weird.

Ok firstly, set block breaking to whitelist mode:
/mg set <Minigame> bwl true
Then add the blocks you want people to break to it. (so just the floor material)
As for the mobs, use world guard and add a region around the area and disable mobs spawning in the region.
