MineReaper
MineReaper
Time to pay the reaper.
Description
Get more control over the way death works on your server! Give players the luxury of keeping their experience and items when they die, either for free or for a price. Are your players complaining because they lost all their items when killed in PvP? Why not make it so they can keep those items and experience whenever a player kills them? Want to treat your VIP's to a new perk for some donations? Why not allow them to keep their experience and items, FOR FREE? Customize the way your players die in the game, add your own hilarious spin on death using custom death messages! Don't want your players to keep their experience AND their items? Choose which they get to keep for yourself!

Important Note
Version 1.3 includes several permissions and configuration changes where some permissions and configuration options have been removed. We recommend that you delete the config.yml in your MineReaper data folder, and unset your current minereaper permissions.
If you DO choose to use the death tax features of MineReaper, Vault is required along with a valid economy plugin supported by Vault.
You can get vault here: http:dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/vault/
If you DO NOT choose to use the death tax features of MineReaper, Vault is not required.
MineReaper turned off by default. In order to use it, you have to give the minereaper.use permission to any user/group/world you want to have it. If you want to use death taxing, you have to use the appropriate commands found on the commands page to enable those features.
Version 1.3 contains many bug fixes and new additions, it is highly recommended that you use this version or upgrade to it. If you intend to use MineReaper Death Messages, please read the Death Messages Configuration, link located at bottom of page.

Features
Choose whether players will keep experience or items, or both!
Supports custom death messages (including PvP item used to kill)

Known Issues
Essentials version 2.9.1 and earlier has a bug where PlayerDeathEvent gets called multiple times. This WILL break MineReaper, if you want to use Essentials with MineReaper, you will need to download Essentials 2.9.2 or higher which can be found here: http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/essentials/

Posted Jun 27, 2012Hey BlueSin, just wanted to point out a bug that I'm almost positive is due to MineReaper. I have not done extensive testing on it, but it's hard to pinpoint because there is no actual error message. Here's the problem, and it's recreatable.
1. Character with MineReaper permissions is killed. (works with a paid death and works with free pvp deaths) 2. Here's the key: Person hits "disconnect" instead of respawn. 3. They reconnect to the server and their items and xp are all vanished.
I even restored the character files (from that world) and the entire plugins folder from a backup before the incident, and the character's inventory was still empty. Mostly wondering if you've come across this, as I can't see it being anything other than minereaper causing it. Looking forward to your response.

Posted Jun 27, 2012Alright for those users that are having a problem with the data directory and/or config.yml not being created I have just uploaded MineReaper-1.21a. It will not show up under files until it has been approved by Bukkit/Curse.
Once you do get it though, I need to know if this has resolved your issue. This is a silent fix for the data directory creation & config.yml file creation ONLY, and will not be announced on the main page. I need to know after you use it what is working now and what is not, so that I can put out MineReaper-1.21b if necessary.

Okay, I will look into this and if necessary I will put together a 1.21 build that adds some redundancy to read/write/create for the data folder and config files.

I don't have the other plugins you have but have the same problem: I tried to directly put in the data folder because it didn't automatically get created, and it still doesn't work.

It's always safer with a smaller plugin like MineReaper to just delete the MineReaper data folder and delete the old .jar file, then add the new jar file and MineReaper will automatically recreate the data folder for you.

Check a few comments below this one, I posted a basic bukkit with the most recent version of MineReaper working. Grab the data folder from that, and tweak it to your heart's content.

Are you using MineReaper version 1.14 or 1.0? 1.0 didn't have any commands and thus makes no data folder.

I will later, and about that items, I will be trying to do it other way so ppl lose money when they die but keep items (when they have no money, they can still keep items. If i won't be able to do it like that then i will try your option and yes I will have vault with iConomy because shop needs it) but I can't tell when money will be on my server it might be couple days, might be a month.

Okay also keep in mind that to use MineReaper's death tax features you NEED the Vault plugin. Otherwise, when they die they will get to keep their items and experience for free. But run that bukkit server I uploaded for you, and check if you are still having an issue.

1) We didn't have any economy plugin on our server, since we aren't using money and shops yet. 2) We use this -> http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/commandbook/ not essentials. 3) There is one economy plugin running now (iconomy) because I'm experimenting with shops and money before I introduce them to my server, but when i was testing minereaper there was no money nor any economy plugins on my server, I've put it after I finished with your tests and when no one was using the server (at night). 4) I will be able to test what you have send in about 13-14 h from now on or a little later on. Players starter coming to server and I can't experiment any more.

In case Essentials is not the problem you are having, do this. Grab this file I uploaded for you: Link Removed: http://www.mediafire.com/?z9797hetfu9720g .
I loaded a default server, most recent Bukkit, my recommended version of Essentials, most current version of MineReaper and your version of PermissionsEX. Don't change anything, just run it by itself and try to connect, give yourself some money in the console window using: eco give <yourname> 50. Then confirm your balance with balance <yourname>. Then run xp give <yourname> 500. Pick up a few items or give yourself some. Then run kill <yourname>. In theory it should be working, because it was working when I uploaded it.
IF that does work, then start modifying it little by little, adding the mods your server uses one by one. Change the settings one by one if you have to, even add the permissions one by one if you must. Once it stops working (if it does at all) then you will know what mod is causing the problem. It is tedious work I know, but MineReaper is worth it imo.

Are you using Essentials version 2.9.1? I loaded PEX v1.19.1 and minereaper works fine. BUT if you are using Essentials version 2.9.1 the plugin will not work at all, and that is because Essentials 2.9.1 is bugged, the PlayerDeathEvent gets called twice, and so minereaper runs twice, the first time it runs it does its thing, the second time it runs it cancels out what it did, the user pays 2x rate, and all their exp & items drop on the floor.
If you want to use Essentials with MineReaper, you will need to download Pre-1.9.2.2 or higher which can be found here: http://ci.ess3.net/viewLog.html?buildId=3532&tab=artifacts&buildTypeId=bt9&guest=1
