Dev build
Development builds of this project can be acquired at the provided continuous integration server. These builds have not been approved by the BukkitDev staff. Use them at your own risk. This link has been removed because Bukkit doesn't like Github as a CI server.
Minecraft: The Last Airbender is a Minecraft plugin for a Bukkit server. It is designed for Survival Multiplayer, and allows players to choose an element to bend as the benders do in the world of Avatar (the stage of Avatar: The Last Airbender and its sequel The Legend of Korra).
Some quick notes: I will warn you that you will not be able to do everything they do in the show. There are limitations both in Minecraft and in Bukkit that prevent such extravagance. In the details of each discipline you can see exactly what you can do. As such, the description of the bending disciplines is a little altered to reflect their role in the world of Minecraft: The Last Airbender.
Features
- Play as a bender and choose which type you would like to be.
- Battle other users and see who is the best of the best.
- Compatible with WorldGuard, Factions, PreciousStones, GriefPrevention, and CreeperHeal. (Many more plugins will be added to this list)
- Nothing is required client-side
- Permissions support!
Bending
Users may bend water, earth, fire, air, or can go with being a chiblocker.. You may pick which type of bender you would like to be with the command: /bending choose [water/air/earth/fire/chi]. You may only choose one, with the exception of the Avatar, and you may never change it so be careful in your decision.
Waterbending
- Specializes in maneuverability in and on the water.
- Oceans are perfect for water benders.
- Techniques range from shooting water that do damage, freezing lakes, or even pushing enemies back with powerful waves.
- This bending style is a mixture of offensive and defensive.
- Water bending opens up many options in bodies of water that are otherwise closed to the other disciplines.
Earthbending
- Specializes in manipulating the earth around them.
- Any area which contains land is perfect for earth benders.
- They have the abilities to pull columns straight up from the earth, drill their way through any mountain and launch themselves through the air.
- This bending style, like water bending, is a mixture of offensive and defensive.
- Earth benders do not take fall damage as long as they land on the ground.
Firebending
- Specializes on destruction and incineration.
- Any environment, besides on any bodies of water, is perfect for them.
- They may create rings of fire on the ground, shoot lines of fire, and even create exploding fireballs.
- This bending style is pure offensive, and very little mobility/defense.
- Fireball is the only ability they may use that does not require any solid ground beneath them.
Airbending
- Specializes in mobility & defense.
- The land is the ideal place for airbenders, although they may also bend over the water.
- Bending air allows you to use wind to blast things away, forming a shield of air around you, or using a tornado to lift you, or your opponent, off of their feet.
- This bending style is perfect for pacifists and explorers for they lack any raw damage output, but make up for it with their utility and speed.
- Choosing air as your element increases your overall speed, decreases the rate of hunger and disables fall damage.
Chi Blocking
- Specializes in bare handed combat.
- Move faster, jump higher, take less fall damage.
- Can block someones chi, stopping them from Bending for a short period of time.
- Abilities range from Higher Jumps, Faster Punches, and Paralysis of enemies.
HELP! It's not working!
This is a Bukkit plugin, not a single player mod. It will never be a single player mod. Go to the Bukkit Wiki to set up your own server. You can play on it just like you would single player, and it requires nothing more than setting it up.
If anything is not working, look around for a development build of Bending.
Development progress
School has picked back up, so plugin development will be very intermittent at best. I've done away with the ordered releases, and will most likely be keeping 1.0.7 the "official" version until I release it as 1.1.0. It's a jump, I know, but if I were forced to stick to a schedule, the plugin would never get done. This is because there are things I like coding and want to code now, and I shouldn't have to wait just because I have something else planned for the version.
As such, there is no ETA on the release. The dev build will of course be updated as I add features, but 1.1.0 will only be officially released when everything is completed, and that could take a very long time.

Posted Nov 28, 2013For some reason in ONE of my arenas on my server, lightning isn't working, but it works with every other arena, that are positioned close by. I tried multiple different things with permissions and WorldGuard flags... but nothing seems to work, all the other arenas are roofed and have all the same flags in the regions. There is nothing different besides its located like 20 blocks east.

Thanks for the reply, I was pounding my head on this for a couple days. I can't believe I didn't think of that. We did recently go from EASY to HARD to make it more challenging.
If the JAR would allow me to keep the difficulty at HARD, that would be great. Just tell me where to go for it, or how to get it.

It is the difficulty of the world, when it is on HARD or NORMAL it won't break or almost nothing and when it is on EASY it does more... I know it is weird... I can send you a bending.jar that does this not, but I think it is fixed in the next build so you could also wait for that.

Posted Nov 25, 2013Hi, I'm having a problem on my server. I have players saying Firebending (FireBlast) isn't breaking blocks other than dirt and wool. I've tried to figure out why, but I'm coming up short. We recenlty move/merged the server with our sister server which has a few plugins the other didn't. I've scoured their configs, but I still can't figure it out.
Those plugins being: GriefPrevention, CoreProtect, and Multiverse.
I guess I'm hoping someone else as seen this, or might have suggestions on trying to fix it.
Spigot 1.6.4 and Bending 1.1.0

Suggestion: Giving earthbenders the ability to hold shift with catapult to act as an earth slide, like when Aang did when he was fighting Zuko and Azula. DB told me that Orion said this was impossible. But I know I've seen ways for it to be done. On a famous bukkit plugin called magic spells, they have multiple particle effects that can be used in configuration. The Particle effect of "tilecrack_TYPEID_DATA (block breaking, fill in the TYPEID and DATA)" from http://nisovin.com/magicspells/spelleffects can be used to create small dirt particles, as in the particles that dirt makes as you break it. This particle can be swapped out for the smoke that's under airscooter, and be considered an Earth Wave in which the Earthbender is riding on. That is all. Toodles

Posted Nov 18, 2013please help: i need to know how to add some1 automatically to a gruop using pex when someone chooses an element. (example) when someone uses /b ch element, itll auto add them to the water group i have configured in the permissions.

Posted Nov 17, 2013Hi Orion, I just thought of a minor adjustment to torrent. As scene in season 2 of LOK, Unalaq was seen shooting torrents that were made of ice. I think it would make sense to implement this into torrent. When the user clicks during his/her torrent to toggle a freeze, the water of the torrent will instead turn to ice. I think this would make torrent look better, and ethically relate to bending from the show. Thanks! Also I forgot something; I strongly think that you should add a toggle for bending from waterbottles. Especially when it comes to water vs water, you can easily reflect a watermanipulation in the bottle benders face the second it comes out from them, which to my knowledge cannot be reversed.
EDIT: I also think that there shouldn't be any effects of earthgrab when the earthbender uses it on them self. So when an earthbender shifts to prevent himself from being knocked back, he doesn't get the FOV and slowness factors that the people he targeted would get. Also, I think that there should be some sort of benefit when people channel their shockwave, airburst, or fireburst. In most situations, using the big aoe has no downside, thus making the channeled versions underused. Thanks again.

Orion made some changes to earthgrab, eartharmor, fireblast and firejet as far as I know for now, also some other stuff I think but those 4 are mostly for the gameplay.

Can you give us a hint on the new addition? I'd LOVE some avatar-only bending, and when I say that, I don't mean I want bending that only works in the avatar state, when I say that I mean I want some bending that requires multi bending types. For example a bending that allows you to control lava just like water if you're a fire and earth bender.

Than deny the perms to yourself, than you do not have it... + left click tremorsense turns it off I think, so enough options to just turn it off.

Try reinstalling the whole server with only bending, I think something is interfering with it. Good luck finding it, I cannot help you any further with it with the information I know now.

It is, maybe the latest isn't but try build 2.0+ those are all compatible with it.

Which server? Cause the standard, default server of orion it self is still available for every country I check it with a ping from over the whole world (from all countries) only 3 counties are banned but I think this is cause those have are blocked by the anti DDOS, he cannot do anything to prevent that.
