Dev build
Development builds of this project can be acquired at the provided continuous integration server. These builds have not been approved by the BukkitDev staff. Use them at your own risk. This link has been removed because Bukkit doesn't like Github as a CI server.
Minecraft: The Last Airbender is a Minecraft plugin for a Bukkit server. It is designed for Survival Multiplayer, and allows players to choose an element to bend as the benders do in the world of Avatar (the stage of Avatar: The Last Airbender and its sequel The Legend of Korra).
Some quick notes: I will warn you that you will not be able to do everything they do in the show. There are limitations both in Minecraft and in Bukkit that prevent such extravagance. In the details of each discipline you can see exactly what you can do. As such, the description of the bending disciplines is a little altered to reflect their role in the world of Minecraft: The Last Airbender.
Features
- Play as a bender and choose which type you would like to be.
- Battle other users and see who is the best of the best.
- Compatible with WorldGuard, Factions, PreciousStones, GriefPrevention, and CreeperHeal. (Many more plugins will be added to this list)
- Nothing is required client-side
- Permissions support!
Bending
Users may bend water, earth, fire, air, or can go with being a chiblocker.. You may pick which type of bender you would like to be with the command: /bending choose [water/air/earth/fire/chi]. You may only choose one, with the exception of the Avatar, and you may never change it so be careful in your decision.
Waterbending
- Specializes in maneuverability in and on the water.
- Oceans are perfect for water benders.
- Techniques range from shooting water that do damage, freezing lakes, or even pushing enemies back with powerful waves.
- This bending style is a mixture of offensive and defensive.
- Water bending opens up many options in bodies of water that are otherwise closed to the other disciplines.
Earthbending
- Specializes in manipulating the earth around them.
- Any area which contains land is perfect for earth benders.
- They have the abilities to pull columns straight up from the earth, drill their way through any mountain and launch themselves through the air.
- This bending style, like water bending, is a mixture of offensive and defensive.
- Earth benders do not take fall damage as long as they land on the ground.
Firebending
- Specializes on destruction and incineration.
- Any environment, besides on any bodies of water, is perfect for them.
- They may create rings of fire on the ground, shoot lines of fire, and even create exploding fireballs.
- This bending style is pure offensive, and very little mobility/defense.
- Fireball is the only ability they may use that does not require any solid ground beneath them.
Airbending
- Specializes in mobility & defense.
- The land is the ideal place for airbenders, although they may also bend over the water.
- Bending air allows you to use wind to blast things away, forming a shield of air around you, or using a tornado to lift you, or your opponent, off of their feet.
- This bending style is perfect for pacifists and explorers for they lack any raw damage output, but make up for it with their utility and speed.
- Choosing air as your element increases your overall speed, decreases the rate of hunger and disables fall damage.
Chi Blocking
- Specializes in bare handed combat.
- Move faster, jump higher, take less fall damage.
- Can block someones chi, stopping them from Bending for a short period of time.
- Abilities range from Higher Jumps, Faster Punches, and Paralysis of enemies.
HELP! It's not working!
This is a Bukkit plugin, not a single player mod. It will never be a single player mod. Go to the Bukkit Wiki to set up your own server. You can play on it just like you would single player, and it requires nothing more than setting it up.
If anything is not working, look around for a development build of Bending.
Development progress
School has picked back up, so plugin development will be very intermittent at best. I've done away with the ordered releases, and will most likely be keeping 1.0.7 the "official" version until I release it as 1.1.0. It's a jump, I know, but if I were forced to stick to a schedule, the plugin would never get done. This is because there are things I like coding and want to code now, and I shouldn't have to wait just because I have something else planned for the version.
As such, there is no ETA on the release. The dev build will of course be updated as I add features, but 1.1.0 will only be officially released when everything is completed, and that could take a very long time.

I literally cannot fix whatever problem you're having, because it's not in the code. If I cannot reproduce it, I cannot fix it. Period. Especially for the problem you're having, which no one else is and I cannot reproduce.

Probably not. We shall see though. It doesn't play well with bending and stresses the server too much.
@NeroTNT
So disable the heatcontrol permission in the nether world.
@raptorfarian
Having a fluid wall of ice fits more into the theme of waterbending than a stationary one does, in my opinion. As for setting people on fire not being part of the show, there are many things about Minecraft in general that weren't part of the show (like dying). Catching on fire isn't something a show rated for children can exactly do, but plays well in Minecraft and I think is an adequate change.
@Snuzfuz
Different flags is simply not going to happen for two different reasons. The first of which is that few flags are covered by all of the grief protection plugins Bending supports. The second of which (and less important) is that you really don't want to attach it to anything other than the build flag, the reason for which is in the FAQ.
@PhanaticD
It actually runs on threads, and I don't think in general Bukkit multithread support is very good, if it even exists.
@raptorfarian
Yeah... chances are it doesn't break Bending, but only time will tell.
@Xirone64
Google "minecraftTLA github", there you have it. Also, the messages it says are in the language.yml file, so you don't have to do any coding.

Posted Sep 19, 2013Would their possibly be a way you could add which flag bending plays off be configurable. Meaning if someone wants it to be off the pvp flag they can configure it or to a different flag. Just a suggestion love your plugin. My server is currently in beta but when it's out it will definitely have this plugin on it! :D

Posted Sep 18, 2013thanks for replying i didnt make my idea very clear when i said permenant i ment it stays were it is and doesnt move when ice allowing you to use it as cover, it would disappear like all other ice eventually. As for the fire it was only a tiny nitpick as in the show it was more like getting hit then being set on fire. the right click would have been for additional functions that arent animated like when a waterbender freezes objects it is often phycic or done with the mouth.

All elements are done. Chiblockers might have something in store, but I don't know yet.
@looy3
Hacking goes without saying and is on the server rules. If you're going to spam this board, at least be curteous and edit previous statements instead of posting 4 things back to back. The server list on this page is your best bet.
@raptorfarian
I agree that EarthGrab is a bit too powerful on Waterbenders, but the problem with that is a bit difficult to solve, as EarthGrab isn't where I want it to be in terms of power right now.
You can't bend from other waterbender's bending sources because they are controlling it.
Right-click isn't used because Bending is a very animated activity. Right-clicking, more often than not, gives no animation. I don't want no animation on a bending move or ability.
Waterbenders don't need to create a permanent ice wall. Any time a waterbender in the series stops concentrating, the ice thaws. This is how it is in the plugin.
Firebenders definitely don't need some reduced chance of catching others on fire. They're firebenders.

Posted Sep 18, 2013i dont want to make a demand just some minor suggestions, both airbenders and waterbenders lack a block break move on earth structures. Now i dont personnaly believe airbenders need one s they are extremely mobile and it it the only way of pinning them, but with waterbenders they often become easily trapped away from there bending source. Also waterbenders cant use waterbending moves on ice blocks made by surge or torrent, which is understandable but if it were possible could you make it so if you bend from one of the blocks it removes the structure but allows you to bend from it. and a minor suggestion waterwall when turned to ice stays as a permanent ice wall rather then a movable one. Firebenders also could use a slightly reduced chance of lighting people on fire.
ps why isn't right click used for anything

We have a very strict no hacking policy. You were caught hacking, under no circumstances can your ban be lifted. There are other fun servers out there.
@nkomosim
You are not. It's currently a bug in the config that makes WaterBubble not listen to it. I fixed that bug on the test server, but haven't released it.
