Minecraft: The Last Airbender is a Minecraft plugin for a Bukkit server. It is designed for Survival Multiplayer, and allows players to choose an element to bend as the benders do in the world of Avatar (the stage of Avatar: The Last Airbender and its sequel The Legend of Korra).
Some quick notes: I will warn you that you will not be able to do everything they do in the show. There are limitations both in Minecraft and in Bukkit that prevent such extravagance. In the details of each discipline you can see exactly what you can do. As such, the description of the bending disciplines is a little altered to reflect their role in the world of Minecraft: The Last Airbender.
Features
- Play as a bender and choose which type you would like to be.
- Battle other users and see who is the best of the best.
- Compatible with WorldGuard, Factions, PreciousStones, GriefPrevention, and CreeperHeal. (Many more plugins will be added to this list)
- Nothing is required client-side
- Permissions support!
Bending
Users may bend water, earth, fire, air, or can go with being a chiblocker.. You may pick which type of bender you would like to be with the command: /bending choose [water/air/earth/fire/chi]. You may only choose one, with the exception of the Avatar, and you may never change it so be careful in your decision.
Waterbending
- Specializes in maneuverability in and on the water.
- Oceans are perfect for water benders.
- Techniques range from shooting water that do damage, freezing lakes, or even pushing enemies back with powerful waves.
- This bending style is a mixture of offensive and defensive.
- Water bending opens up many options in bodies of water that are otherwise closed to the other disciplines.
Earthbending
- Specializes in manipulating the earth around them.
- Any area which contains land is perfect for earth benders.
- They have the abilities to pull columns straight up from the earth, drill their way through any mountain and launch themselves through the air.
- This bending style, like water bending, is a mixture of offensive and defensive.
- Earth benders do not take fall damage as long as they land on the ground.
Firebending
- Specializes on destruction and incineration.
- Any environment, besides on any bodies of water, is perfect for them.
- They may create rings of fire on the ground, shoot lines of fire, and even create exploding fireballs.
- This bending style is pure offensive, and very little mobility/defense.
- Fireball is the only ability they may use that does not require any solid ground beneath them.
Airbending
- Specializes in mobility & defense.
- The land is the ideal place for airbenders, although they may also bend over the water.
- Bending air allows you to use wind to blast things away, forming a shield of air around you, or using a tornado to lift you, or your opponent, off of their feet.
- This bending style is perfect for pacifists and explorers for they lack any raw damage output, but make up for it with their utility and speed.
- Choosing air as your element increases your overall speed, decreases the rate of hunger and disables fall damage.
Chi Blocking
- Specializes in bare handed combat.
- Move faster, jump higher, take less fall damage.
- Can block someones chi, stopping them from Bending for a short period of time.
- Abilities range from Higher Jumps, Faster Punches, and Paralysis of enemies.
HELP! It's not working!
This is a Bukkit plugin, not a single player mod. It will never be a single player mod. Go to the Bukkit Wiki to set up your own server. You can play on it just like you would single player, and it requires nothing more than setting it up.
If anything is not working, look around for a development build of Bending.
Development progress
School has picked back up, so plugin development will be very intermittent at best. I've done away with the ordered releases, and will most likely be keeping 1.0.7 the "official" version until I release it as 1.1.0. It's a jump, I know, but if I were forced to stick to a schedule, the plugin would never get done. This is because there are things I like coding and want to code now, and I shouldn't have to wait just because I have something else planned for the version.
As such, there is no ETA on the release. The dev build will of course be updated as I add features, but 1.1.0 will only be officially released when everything is completed, and that could take a very long time.

To create an arena that allows bending on the inside but without breaking any of the walls/ceiling/floor this is what you will want to do.
1. Use world edit to enclose the entire arena that people will bend in, including all the walls, the ceiling, and the floor. You can use expand down, expand up, etc. to help you encase the entire arena.
2. Type /region claim ArenaBorder, /region flag ArenaBorder build deny.
3. Then using world edit highlight the region inside of the border that you want people to be able to build in. I usually place a block on the ground and left click that, then place another block across the arena right underneath the ceiling, and then right click that block. Make sure you don't have the walls/ceiling/or roof included with this world edit.
4. Type /region claim ArenaInside, /region flag ArenaInside build allow, /region parent ArenaInside ArenaBorder, /region priority ArenaInside 1.
They should be able to bend inside of the arena now without being able to break any of the border now.
@kik4444 In the FAQ's it says no.
@orion304 I've that the aoe sneak based version of shockwave has gotten much slower and laggier lately. This might just be my two servers, but there seems to be no change at all in the speed of the left click version of shockwave. Doing some testing with plugins I noticed that it only seems to happen with Factions. I think Factions might be causing some problems, or I'm using bad files so I'll keep testing. Has anyone else noticed this?

Posted Aug 20, 2013Is it possible to make it so that when it's raining, you won't require a source to waterbend? Instead you look up into the rain and select where you bend water from?

It is more than EarthGrab, it's also Surge (ice) being impossible to break out of, along with other things. It will stay with the build flag, there will be no other options. Also setting reversion to 10s will not work, since Eartbending doesn't revert if someone is in that chunk. Though you can do what you want to do with clever usage of regions (I have several of those arenas on my server).

Posted Aug 20, 2013is there any thing that i can change bending stick with pvp flag ? because im about to create an event with people inside the arena fighting eachother but i dont want they break stuff and go out the arena. But if i do so there will be no bending :(. Im thinking about the FAQ you said that build flag stick with the bending because of earthgrab , i think that i just can change thi config reverse the bending in 10s , and the earth grab isnt really make player stuck in it there are 2 ways out.

Multi-world support in the config would be no different than deactivating bending in certain worlds from the default group, which other groups inherit... And all the permission nodes work, as listed. Be sure you are doing things correctly.
@alessandro100
That wasn't the case in the series, and it doesn't need to be balanced - it's the Avatar State.
@Bca1849
Google: github minecrafttla, or github orion304
@xakiru
That's a problem you'd have better luck using google to solve.
@chasethebomb12
You can't. And I don't support old versions of Minecraft.
@ArrowThijs
Such animations require NMS libraries, which I do not use because they break the entire plugin at the slightest release.
@Bakon_
Consult your permissions plugin to learn how to negate nodes in the default group...
@kik4444
Well Avatar isn't a bending type is it? Check the commands page for adding the elements to you.

Posted Aug 19, 2013How do you become the avatar? Near every admin's name it says AVATAR, but it isn't available as a bending type, and yes, I have both bending,avatarstate and bending.avatar.admin.state as true in the permissions, and I also am not very familiar to this plugin so I apologize if this is a stupid a question, but a short and simple answer would be enough for me :)

Use http://dev.bukkit.org/bukkit-plugins/rsp-region-specific-permissions/ that makes it a lot easier :D BTW this is wrong > - bending.fire.Blaze- use it like > -bending.fire.Blaze
@alessandro100
Yep, it should only work for like 30 sec and than go off for 5 min....
@Bca1849
I think it is...
@xakiru
It does -bending.* in a group deny all kind of bending
@chasethebomb12
Not and never will
@chasethebomb12
Cause you do not have the permissions to use it.
@xakiru
Cause 1.6.2 is in BETA and not recommended.
@ArrowThijs
It would be cool but I think that isn't possible.
@Bakon_
Well you can do that with permissions really easy, or serversigns, and not let them allow to use /b choose when they are in the choose group like I did on my server.

This could be done by denying all elements and using a lugin like svs signs to add the permission for the element, then add the element to them. (Remove signs remove element and the permission)
You can use Group Manager (What I use) or something similar to have per-world permissions on the user.

Posted Aug 17, 2013Well multi-worlds would make a lot easier to use for a lot of people not just me.I have 28 ranks and 48 worlds and when I try to block commands with permissionsex for ranks and worlds noting happens for example “- bending.fire.Blaze-“ should block the command but it does not work.
A server I played on have used you dev build and add-on to your plugin they have multi world and other stuff like when you become a bender the first time you don’t have all your moves you can learn new moves buy finding a book to teach you our you could go to a bending temple and learn a move by clicking on a sign if you had bending rank points you need.
