Dev build
Development builds of this project can be acquired at the provided continuous integration server. These builds have not been approved by the BukkitDev staff. Use them at your own risk. This link has been removed because Bukkit doesn't like Github as a CI server.
Minecraft: The Last Airbender is a Minecraft plugin for a Bukkit server. It is designed for Survival Multiplayer, and allows players to choose an element to bend as the benders do in the world of Avatar (the stage of Avatar: The Last Airbender and its sequel The Legend of Korra).
Some quick notes: I will warn you that you will not be able to do everything they do in the show. There are limitations both in Minecraft and in Bukkit that prevent such extravagance. In the details of each discipline you can see exactly what you can do. As such, the description of the bending disciplines is a little altered to reflect their role in the world of Minecraft: The Last Airbender.
Features
- Play as a bender and choose which type you would like to be.
- Battle other users and see who is the best of the best.
- Compatible with WorldGuard, Factions, PreciousStones, GriefPrevention, and CreeperHeal. (Many more plugins will be added to this list)
- Nothing is required client-side
- Permissions support!
Bending
Users may bend water, earth, fire, air, or can go with being a chiblocker.. You may pick which type of bender you would like to be with the command: /bending choose [water/air/earth/fire/chi]. You may only choose one, with the exception of the Avatar, and you may never change it so be careful in your decision.
Waterbending
- Specializes in maneuverability in and on the water.
- Oceans are perfect for water benders.
- Techniques range from shooting water that do damage, freezing lakes, or even pushing enemies back with powerful waves.
- This bending style is a mixture of offensive and defensive.
- Water bending opens up many options in bodies of water that are otherwise closed to the other disciplines.
Earthbending
- Specializes in manipulating the earth around them.
- Any area which contains land is perfect for earth benders.
- They have the abilities to pull columns straight up from the earth, drill their way through any mountain and launch themselves through the air.
- This bending style, like water bending, is a mixture of offensive and defensive.
- Earth benders do not take fall damage as long as they land on the ground.
Firebending
- Specializes on destruction and incineration.
- Any environment, besides on any bodies of water, is perfect for them.
- They may create rings of fire on the ground, shoot lines of fire, and even create exploding fireballs.
- This bending style is pure offensive, and very little mobility/defense.
- Fireball is the only ability they may use that does not require any solid ground beneath them.
Airbending
- Specializes in mobility & defense.
- The land is the ideal place for airbenders, although they may also bend over the water.
- Bending air allows you to use wind to blast things away, forming a shield of air around you, or using a tornado to lift you, or your opponent, off of their feet.
- This bending style is perfect for pacifists and explorers for they lack any raw damage output, but make up for it with their utility and speed.
- Choosing air as your element increases your overall speed, decreases the rate of hunger and disables fall damage.
Chi Blocking
- Specializes in bare handed combat.
- Move faster, jump higher, take less fall damage.
- Can block someones chi, stopping them from Bending for a short period of time.
- Abilities range from Higher Jumps, Faster Punches, and Paralysis of enemies.
HELP! It's not working!
This is a Bukkit plugin, not a single player mod. It will never be a single player mod. Go to the Bukkit Wiki to set up your own server. You can play on it just like you would single player, and it requires nothing more than setting it up.
If anything is not working, look around for a development build of Bending.
Development progress
School has picked back up, so plugin development will be very intermittent at best. I've done away with the ordered releases, and will most likely be keeping 1.0.7 the "official" version until I release it as 1.1.0. It's a jump, I know, but if I were forced to stick to a schedule, the plugin would never get done. This is because there are things I like coding and want to code now, and I shouldn't have to wait just because I have something else planned for the version.
As such, there is no ETA on the release. The dev build will of course be updated as I add features, but 1.1.0 will only be officially released when everything is completed, and that could take a very long time.

The dev build's location has not moved, it is still here, though I cannot put it in the page itself until I set up a CI server or something.
If you mean you want to see the permissions fixed in the next version, that will definitely be the case. In the meantime, you don't have to downgrade, just manually add the bending.chiblocker.passive permission on top of bending.chiblocking.*

Right, I actually discovered this just recently after "fixing" permissions.
The permission node for chiblocker passive is incorrect! It is actually bending.chiblocker.passive!
That was my bad, and I'll make the permissions consistent later, but for now this will solve your issues :)

Is there anything else that WG or any other plugin could do with the sprint? Cause noone got the chi passive, not the dodge and the same for run and jump, they just don't work only for OP players.

Posted Jun 15, 2013So I've finally gotten around to updating my own server and its plugins, and I see the issues you guys are talking about with Firebending and Factions. Here are the fixes:
FIREBENDING ISN'T WORKING because Bending respects WorldGuard's "lighter" flag. If WorldGuard blocks lighters, it blocks Firebending too (surprising, eh? :D). Well, in the most recent WorldGuard update, lighters are blocked by default. You can fix this by going to the world in question and typing "/rg flag global lighter allow". Boom, fixed!
FACTIONS IS BEHAVING WEIRDLY. They updated by a large amount and logged very little of what they changed. I recommend downgrading Factions, since it's ultimately what I had to do to allow building in Warzones (so you could Bend there). They obviously changed their checking methods too, which is why you're getting spammed with not being able to alter things. I will work on that sometime, but the easiest fix is just to downgrade Factions, since it works fine on 1.5.2.
@mbcx2
If something is broken from a build of Spigot, that's not Bending's doing, that's Spigot's doing. Just wait for them to release something a bit better, is my suggestion, since nothing with sprint is weird or "fixable" (it's actually a really simple code, that ability).
@Phyore
I'll reply to what I think you were talking about, but in a general since. It's above these paragraphs.

You can use any permissions plugin whatsoever. They all function the same in the end.

Posted Jun 14, 2013I've been getting some advice from some people that I don't believe. People say you have to use PermissionsEX to make bending work. I don't believe this. Can I just use groupmanager?

I believe what happened with WorldGuard, if I read right (though I haven't tested it) is that by default it blocks all fire starting. Which also blocks firebending. If you cannot use flint and steel, then you know your problem.

Have you read the whole page before making a post? Anyways, it does work for 1.5.2 as long as you download the DEV build which you can find for example under: "HELP! It is not working!" it works with all of the spigot/bukkit builds from 1.5.1 or higher (I think also lower :P) the only problem which you will MAYBE see is that firebending is not working, this is cause of worldguard. Try downgrading it if you have fireblast and blaze not working.

Ye the latest spigot/bukkit I tried broke a lot and I had no time testing (normally I test every build with bending and every build of the newest spigot), I just ended my exams and I had no energy to do it anymore, I will test every build from now on again and tell you the bugs I found and maybe some bugs that are gone. Thanks, Codiaz.

Thanks for this. I may have you post it again if I've missed some things.
1. Like I mentioned just now, it works on my test server. When I get home I'll see if Bukkit broke it or something, but it's rather weird that it broke to begin with.
2. All fly bugs are known and unfortunately potentially impossible to fix.
3. It's not that reliable, otherwise it'd be easier to fix. Regardless, I plan to look into and fix any water dupe bug.
4. Could you explain a bit more? Tornado was recently changed to make the user have better controlled flight, maybe that's what you're seeing?
5. The chi passive and other passives should have recently been fixed for permissions. But yes, chiblocking with bending is a bug which is a really tough one to fix.
6. Yep, and it may never do so again.
7. The config will be one of the last items to do for Bending, so don't expect that anytime soon.
8. That should have been fixed in the most recent dev build (now like 2 weeks old)
9. Yep, and will only be brought back in a read-only capacity.
11. That might not be fixable.
12. This is NEW, right? If it's a new thing, then it's Factions who changed their code, because Bending's region protection method hasn't changed in a long long while.
13. I've seen this, but only on other servers. Maybe it's because of the new Bukkit, I'll check it out.
