Dev build
Development builds of this project can be acquired at the provided continuous integration server. These builds have not been approved by the BukkitDev staff. Use them at your own risk. This link has been removed because Bukkit doesn't like Github as a CI server.
Minecraft: The Last Airbender is a Minecraft plugin for a Bukkit server. It is designed for Survival Multiplayer, and allows players to choose an element to bend as the benders do in the world of Avatar (the stage of Avatar: The Last Airbender and its sequel The Legend of Korra).
Some quick notes: I will warn you that you will not be able to do everything they do in the show. There are limitations both in Minecraft and in Bukkit that prevent such extravagance. In the details of each discipline you can see exactly what you can do. As such, the description of the bending disciplines is a little altered to reflect their role in the world of Minecraft: The Last Airbender.
Features
- Play as a bender and choose which type you would like to be.
- Battle other users and see who is the best of the best.
- Compatible with WorldGuard, Factions, PreciousStones, GriefPrevention, and CreeperHeal. (Many more plugins will be added to this list)
- Nothing is required client-side
- Permissions support!
Bending
Users may bend water, earth, fire, air, or can go with being a chiblocker.. You may pick which type of bender you would like to be with the command: /bending choose [water/air/earth/fire/chi]. You may only choose one, with the exception of the Avatar, and you may never change it so be careful in your decision.
Waterbending
- Specializes in maneuverability in and on the water.
- Oceans are perfect for water benders.
- Techniques range from shooting water that do damage, freezing lakes, or even pushing enemies back with powerful waves.
- This bending style is a mixture of offensive and defensive.
- Water bending opens up many options in bodies of water that are otherwise closed to the other disciplines.
Earthbending
- Specializes in manipulating the earth around them.
- Any area which contains land is perfect for earth benders.
- They have the abilities to pull columns straight up from the earth, drill their way through any mountain and launch themselves through the air.
- This bending style, like water bending, is a mixture of offensive and defensive.
- Earth benders do not take fall damage as long as they land on the ground.
Firebending
- Specializes on destruction and incineration.
- Any environment, besides on any bodies of water, is perfect for them.
- They may create rings of fire on the ground, shoot lines of fire, and even create exploding fireballs.
- This bending style is pure offensive, and very little mobility/defense.
- Fireball is the only ability they may use that does not require any solid ground beneath them.
Airbending
- Specializes in mobility & defense.
- The land is the ideal place for airbenders, although they may also bend over the water.
- Bending air allows you to use wind to blast things away, forming a shield of air around you, or using a tornado to lift you, or your opponent, off of their feet.
- This bending style is perfect for pacifists and explorers for they lack any raw damage output, but make up for it with their utility and speed.
- Choosing air as your element increases your overall speed, decreases the rate of hunger and disables fall damage.
Chi Blocking
- Specializes in bare handed combat.
- Move faster, jump higher, take less fall damage.
- Can block someones chi, stopping them from Bending for a short period of time.
- Abilities range from Higher Jumps, Faster Punches, and Paralysis of enemies.
HELP! It's not working!
This is a Bukkit plugin, not a single player mod. It will never be a single player mod. Go to the Bukkit Wiki to set up your own server. You can play on it just like you would single player, and it requires nothing more than setting it up.
If anything is not working, look around for a development build of Bending.
Development progress
School has picked back up, so plugin development will be very intermittent at best. I've done away with the ordered releases, and will most likely be keeping 1.0.7 the "official" version until I release it as 1.1.0. It's a jump, I know, but if I were forced to stick to a schedule, the plugin would never get done. This is because there are things I like coding and want to code now, and I shouldn't have to wait just because I have something else planned for the version.
As such, there is no ETA on the release. The dev build will of course be updated as I add features, but 1.1.0 will only be officially released when everything is completed, and that could take a very long time.

Posted Jun 12, 2013OK, it was a great vacation. I'm going to extend it by relieving a bit of stress and just this once NOT going through every single comment that was made and replying to them individually.
If you're receiving a message when you try to bend in a protected land, make sure you have the dev build. I was pretty sure I fixed that bug a long long time ago in the dev build.
For future reference, please either look at my code or have a coding background before you offer particular coding advice. Tremorsense DOES only send a block change to the client. It still checks through factions though, and it is the checking method that Bending uses, not the block change method, that causes that bug if it's still there to begin with.
Did Factions maybe update recently? Because nothing has changed with that code for a long long while, and if Factions moved that warning label to the method I called, that makes sense why this bug is happening.
Please do not speak for me unless you are 100% certain that's what I would say. For example, I did not get FireJet from LoK, I got it from TLA where it was used both by Azula and Ozai.
For all the bug reports, I will go through codiaz's compiled list that is close to or on this page. Several bugs, however, are not present on my server and I don't know how you guys are getting them. For example, firebending works 100% on the test server. Maybe when Bukkit updated it broke things.

Did he? I remember firelord Ozai doing it at the end battle but that is than just me, I think...
@Youramoron
What you mean? Orion made it so that you can choose once and than have those bendings that is the idea... nothing else. If you want like a rank system that firelord gets better than a fire bender than you need to do it with perms, and believe it isn't that hard...

Orion got FireJet from LOK, which is why I said that.

Oh right XD yep, or send a fake block change which affects client side only, so it doesn't trigger it on the server.

How would you be able to disable specific abilities in faction claimed areas

Or just disable that specific bending in a region just like orion did with all offensive skills :P

Posted Jun 11, 2013Copya paste from factions ticket (unanswered)
I'm using factions 1.8~
I am also using the Bending plugin, now what this plugin can do is temporarily replace the block under you with a glowstone block (also firebenders torch), in a faction area this will spam you with "[name] does not allow you to edit their terrain"
Is there a way to stop this spam?
Got a reply saying;
You could ask them to instead send a "fake block change" to the client when their build check fails.
http://jd.bukkit.org/dev/apidocs/org/bukkit/entity/Player.html#sendBlockChange(org.bukkit.Location,%20org.bukkit.Material,%20byte)
Edit: Also noticed the previous poster mentioning the same

Yes there is, I'm sure Orion knows about this and will fix it when he can. Bending is registered as breaking a block in the faction land, we will have to wait it out till a fix is released.
@iltkamil
You can enable and customize the 'reverse earthbending check' in the config. Change the time for it if you want it to be reversed quicker. /b reload, will also reset it immediately.
@jsay333
Worldguard disables bending, just make sure to have your build flag for that area denied. If it still lets your players bend, then make sure you have the dev build of bending installed.

Posted Jun 10, 2013Alright, so I'm using this plugin for my Factions server and was wondering if there was a way to block bending in certain areas? I mean for the spawn, it's only protected by WorldGuard and Factions (SafeZone'd). So do you guys know anything? I've searched for a while and can't find anything... Please help ASAP!

I'm pretty sure there is already a system in place that reverts Earth Bending to an extent. Earth Bend some material then do /b reload you will see that in most cases it was keeping track of what blocks were being bent. You can also adjust the restore time in the config. At this time CoreProtect does not identify any damage related to bending, which has been a problem in the past with Fire Blast but whatever.

Posted Jun 10, 2013Hey is there a good way to stop earth bending griefing? Just so they don't destroy everything. Like when they do raise earth, there's a timer on how long that earth can be up and then it goes down? Just some way to stop random earth raises everywhere. Does coreprotect detect who moved it?

He is on vacation and maybe the server crashed or is updating, be patient and for now go on the "official servers"
@haltornalf
Bending (latest version) works with worldguard and factions for sure, so if you have one of those you can protect regions with the build flag or for factions by claiming it.
@Pixlaxe After 300.000 milisecond = 5 min, I made it less and it helps a bit with the lag not super but everything is good :D, the server is probably updating or something for maintenance.
@Timmyfox
Some stuff is not yet in the configuration file, but have you reset your config before? Because there are some new things to configure there, but it will need a reset.
@Sekoshiba
The plugin is still active for as far as I know, and in post a while ago, orion told us he is doing the config and bug fixes now.
@animationhero421
It was bugged but in the latest version it works fine again, download the latest version which you can find under "HELP! it is not working!"
@zanasxx
In the latest build there are only some stuff that makes the plugin really laggy and some stuff is not working, examples: "fireball" not working in normal or hard mode, fire with the latest build of spigot and this one is fully not working anymore, if you are not OP you can't do fireblast, blaze, heatcontrol, fireball and fireburst, the watermanipulation bug still exists and the airblast on a lever is for security risks gone for now. But I am sure after orion had his nice holidays he will work on this, just give him some time to rest.
@manousos13
ANY hosts have a button that says: upload... you can access to the FTP and click on upload...
@Dmoney90221
Ok... Idk if you read the title of this project? TLA, do you know what TLA means? Anyways there won't come more moves, I think since orion and many others think it is good with 9 moves for every bending, he wont add any others. Maybe there will be 1 day someone with a project called TLOK which could work with this plugin, which would be really nice but to make a plugin you need more information than 1 season, so if there is coming a TLOK plugin, I am pretty sure this will take at least a year or even more.

Posted Jun 8, 2013Listen, I know one reason there are no updates is because there are no new moves. The new season of LoK isn't out to show any new moves yet.
But, the offensive firebending moves are not working.... May someone fix this?
