Dev build
Development builds of this project can be acquired at the provided continuous integration server. These builds have not been approved by the BukkitDev staff. Use them at your own risk. This link has been removed because Bukkit doesn't like Github as a CI server.
Minecraft: The Last Airbender is a Minecraft plugin for a Bukkit server. It is designed for Survival Multiplayer, and allows players to choose an element to bend as the benders do in the world of Avatar (the stage of Avatar: The Last Airbender and its sequel The Legend of Korra).
Some quick notes: I will warn you that you will not be able to do everything they do in the show. There are limitations both in Minecraft and in Bukkit that prevent such extravagance. In the details of each discipline you can see exactly what you can do. As such, the description of the bending disciplines is a little altered to reflect their role in the world of Minecraft: The Last Airbender.
Features
- Play as a bender and choose which type you would like to be.
- Battle other users and see who is the best of the best.
- Compatible with WorldGuard, Factions, PreciousStones, GriefPrevention, and CreeperHeal. (Many more plugins will be added to this list)
- Nothing is required client-side
- Permissions support!
Bending
Users may bend water, earth, fire, air, or can go with being a chiblocker.. You may pick which type of bender you would like to be with the command: /bending choose [water/air/earth/fire/chi]. You may only choose one, with the exception of the Avatar, and you may never change it so be careful in your decision.
Waterbending
- Specializes in maneuverability in and on the water.
- Oceans are perfect for water benders.
- Techniques range from shooting water that do damage, freezing lakes, or even pushing enemies back with powerful waves.
- This bending style is a mixture of offensive and defensive.
- Water bending opens up many options in bodies of water that are otherwise closed to the other disciplines.
Earthbending
- Specializes in manipulating the earth around them.
- Any area which contains land is perfect for earth benders.
- They have the abilities to pull columns straight up from the earth, drill their way through any mountain and launch themselves through the air.
- This bending style, like water bending, is a mixture of offensive and defensive.
- Earth benders do not take fall damage as long as they land on the ground.
Firebending
- Specializes on destruction and incineration.
- Any environment, besides on any bodies of water, is perfect for them.
- They may create rings of fire on the ground, shoot lines of fire, and even create exploding fireballs.
- This bending style is pure offensive, and very little mobility/defense.
- Fireball is the only ability they may use that does not require any solid ground beneath them.
Airbending
- Specializes in mobility & defense.
- The land is the ideal place for airbenders, although they may also bend over the water.
- Bending air allows you to use wind to blast things away, forming a shield of air around you, or using a tornado to lift you, or your opponent, off of their feet.
- This bending style is perfect for pacifists and explorers for they lack any raw damage output, but make up for it with their utility and speed.
- Choosing air as your element increases your overall speed, decreases the rate of hunger and disables fall damage.
Chi Blocking
- Specializes in bare handed combat.
- Move faster, jump higher, take less fall damage.
- Can block someones chi, stopping them from Bending for a short period of time.
- Abilities range from Higher Jumps, Faster Punches, and Paralysis of enemies.
HELP! It's not working!
This is a Bukkit plugin, not a single player mod. It will never be a single player mod. Go to the Bukkit Wiki to set up your own server. You can play on it just like you would single player, and it requires nothing more than setting it up.
If anything is not working, look around for a development build of Bending.
Development progress
School has picked back up, so plugin development will be very intermittent at best. I've done away with the ordered releases, and will most likely be keeping 1.0.7 the "official" version until I release it as 1.1.0. It's a jump, I know, but if I were forced to stick to a schedule, the plugin would never get done. This is because there are things I like coding and want to code now, and I shouldn't have to wait just because I have something else planned for the version.
As such, there is no ETA on the release. The dev build will of course be updated as I add features, but 1.1.0 will only be officially released when everything is completed, and that could take a very long time.

MistPhizzle means that if people can bend in your no-building areas, then you made your no-building areas wrong. Period. /rg flag [id] build deny works, guaranteed, on any recent dev build. If not, then it's WorldGuard. If a person can build, they can bend, and vice versa. Period.
@Makemyday17
No you don't. For example, what's a waterbender to do when affected by EarthGrab? They can't place blocks to get out, place water to bend, or break blocks to get out. Similarly a frozen surge becomes an impenetrable tomb for air and earthbenders.

Euhm i think you misunderstood what i said i ment: When I use WG and put a flag build : allow in a region building is allowed and bending is, but now i wanna make an arena where people can bend BUT not break stones with hand or whatever. So I first made the flag build: Allow so people can bend (and break stuff) and after that i made a flag construct : deny so people can NOT build or destroy block with hand but CAN bend in that region. But the problem is that if I put that construct flag :deny people can't bend anymore... Can i do anything to make it a bending region where people can't build???

Since you're running WorldGuard, use /wg report. The build flag SHOULD work. When you use WG Report, paste it on pastie and show it here. This will tell us EXACTLY what version of Bending you have / your WG settings.

This means you do not have the latest dev build. Shouldn't be surprising that the flag isn't the build flag, since you're still on 1.0.7 :P
@Makemyday17
You'll have to change your faction's config to allow building where you want bending (i.e. warzones, etc).
Consult your permissions plugin for negating nodes.
@TheRoseau
The plugin has full worldguard support (and a few more protection plugins), so you can make a no-bending region. Just flag it for no PvP (or no build for the dev version)

Posted Oct 2, 2012SUGGESTION:
The ability to make a region which you can not bend or have the option to record bending history and it can be viewed in-game. Our server took down this awesome plugin due to there being way to many grief, and the Admins had no idea how made the grief because bending doesn't show history.

Posted Oct 1, 2012Whoever it was that was requested the AvatarState page on the wiki be finished, it has finally been done! Check it out here. I assume all information on that page is correct o_O. Also had to do some more wiki cleanup, again with the griefing of the wiki D:.
@codiaz
I'm not denying that this plugin plays a role in the dropping of your TPS. It is fairly intensive due to animations and such. Expect to take hits to your TPS. You also could be running other plugins that lower your TPS as well.
@combsb97
I don't think that there is a nice way to handle that / check who is active, etc. Although it would be nice, I don't see it working too well. The development stuff isn't my thing though, can't comment too much on it.
@deathisepic
As of one of the recent dev builds, the flag for Bending has changed to 'Build' instead of PVP. Make sure your WorldGuard region has the Build flag instead of PVP.

Posted Oct 1, 2012i have an idea for this plugin. what if there was a mode in which a player on the server was randomly selected as the avatar. and after they died or were killed. another player was randomly selected as the avatar.this way, if a server owner wants to keep the plugin the way it currently is where the ops can bend all four elements, or they can have it in a mode where the avatar is randomly selected. oh and a message would appear on their screen say they r the avatar

Lightning defaults to true. Seeing as you haven't yet defined the permission node, the plugin assumes players have it. You'll have to negate it. This information has been on the wiki since August.

The permission node SHOULD work. Make sure you bind it with /bending bind AvatarState
Default op only matters if you don't run a permissions plugin, or you just don't define the node.

Posted Oct 1, 2012@makemyday17 If you have the latest version use with worldguard (worldedit needed for this) you have to make a flag: ' /region flag <regionname> build deny ' but op can than still build and bend in the area but for non-operators this is not possible anymore so the region has to be done when you do this, i don't know any other way for this but try it! :P

Posted Oct 1, 2012hey orion and mist. I have spent quite some time trying to get avatarstate to work as a permission, its being rather stubborn. I put in the usual bending.admin.AvatarState, doesnt seem to work for me, bloodbending and everything else works, so idk? Is there any requirements, other than the actual permission? help would be greatly appreciated, Cat.
