[Abandoned] MinecartMania Reborn
Minecart Mania 2.0 is a total minecart overhaul for fun and profit.
With MCM you can:
- Jump and ramp minecarts through the air
- Travel at ludicrous speeds (no derailing!)
- Set destinations for each cart and route them automatically through intersections.
- Route minecarts based on their type, contents or direction.
- Use block or signs to change speed, physics, and other properties on the fly.
- Use minecarts to farm wheat, lumber and other crops, harvest them and place them in chests
- Use advanced sensors to trigger redstone circuits based on the type, contents and direction of minecarts.

Posted Nov 12, 2012@Favorlock: Ha thnx for the suggestion, should have thought of that myself. found out that two plugins give me problems: Lift , and SecretSwitch
Lift only gives errors in the console output SecretSwitch causes the treeharvesting to only take the bottom block and gives console errors.

That would likely be a conflict with another plugin. On my server the auto tree feller works just fine.

Posted Nov 7, 2012I sure do hope updating for this plugin will continue, otherwise I will have to find another use for my 11 story farming building. That is what i use this plugin most for. The collection of alot of materials and foods works well on CB1.4.2 r2 except for wood, it takes only the bottom block of the trunk, and give alot of errors in the console output, further than that no problems. It's not a complaint, just saying what I noticed.

And, I agree, some synergy between y'all excellent plugin authors certainly would not hurt, either! I think minecart systems are so important (and, from the Mojang part, mostly neglected) part of this game we simply couldn't do without them!
To your knowledge, how big a work it is to change MM system to work with Train Carts? We use mostly hold blocks, launchers, station blocks and cart chests on our system.

@mze9412 Please read this with a positive mind.
Bergerkiller does quite a good job with Train Carts. It certainly carries its own share of issues. Though I strongly believe, MinecartMania's code base is hampered from legacy and hackish code sedimentation, back from the Afforess era (As he admitted himself while dropping the ball).
I guess, unless a full re-enginiering and rewrite of MM, witch promises to be a long and tedious amount of work to-do; joining your effort and (as you said) about to dry motivation, with Bergerkiller's Train Carts, could create a very promising synergy.

Posted Nov 7, 2012Meanwhile: are there any Bukkit discussions/bugs to follow, regarding the non-sync between client and server while riding in MM carts? Or is this problem deep in Mojang code? I think the MM users should really push for fixes.

Have to say, yours is the only minecart plugin we are currently even considering...not the least because I've contributed to it, lol. But I do understand your frustration. I don't especially like the fact that to Mojang, making pigs ridable is more important than making basic multiplayer functionality to actually...well, function.

Posted Nov 6, 2012So mze, what's the story of this plugin now; is it completely unusable due to Bukkit problems now?
In 1.3.2, there was the severe problem of warping off some blocks and taking damage while riding a cart.
Today, we are trying 1.4.2 Beta build, which otherwise seems to work fairly well, but...when riding cart, after a while, cart just completely stalls (or so it seems to the player), and very soon the player is being dropped from the cart (or so it seems) to the Void. I can still get my announcement messages from the metro system, as if I was riding still in the cart. But in fact I am sitting (or rather falling) in the Void.
This happened to all of our players who tried this, in different parts of the railwork system (which is very large). Is it a fatal syncing problem between client and server or what?
Mind you, our carts have always been running on standard speed, so with the default speed percent of 100. So this is NOT an issue of us running the carts "too fast".

Posted Oct 8, 2012I am having trouble with the [Max Items] and [Min Items] signs. What I wanted to do was create a chest that held all items from values 1-50 with a Max Items of 64. So far it just drops all the items with data values of 1-50, but will have numerous stacks of 64.
Or did I do the signs wrong? I tried 2 signs, one with 1. [Collect Items] 2. [1-50] and another with 1. [Max Items] 2. [1-50@64]. I've tried it on the same sign, which just makes it drop a single stack of 64, but on 2nd pass of the minecart, it drops another stack of 64. I have also tried to use single data values, instead of ranges, ie. 344@64. Still not working correctly.

For the always speed minecart thing, just make the booster block the one you build your tracks on top of. So for me it would be like Stone Bricks and then set the max speed to 100 (default). Then, you're always going 100 even without powered rails because you've got the booster block.

The dying thing is a bug in minecraft (client and server no longer put the player at the same coordinates). It mainly appears when you have lag and move around fast. Can't fix it, sorry!

Posted Oct 1, 2012Alright then.... Well does anyone know of a plugin that makes all rails powered? No power rail, no redstone. You just get in and type something, and go. This one would be perfect....without the whole 'exiting the minecart and dying in the floor' thing.

Posted Sep 24, 2012We installed this plugin, and players were getting trapped in the floor when exiting a minecart, dying. At one point I go out on top of a stone block area that had lava underneath it, and caught fire. Any way around this issue?
