[Abandoned] MinecartMania Reborn
Minecart Mania 2.0 is a total minecart overhaul for fun and profit.
With MCM you can:
- Jump and ramp minecarts through the air
- Travel at ludicrous speeds (no derailing!)
- Set destinations for each cart and route them automatically through intersections.
- Route minecarts based on their type, contents or direction.
- Use block or signs to change speed, physics, and other properties on the fly.
- Use minecarts to farm wheat, lumber and other crops, harvest them and place them in chests
- Use advanced sensors to trigger redstone circuits based on the type, contents and direction of minecarts.
Note: 7/23/2013 by jrbudda
MinecarftMania has been almost totally re-written Please read Whats new in v2 for the current list of changes from the original.

Cool to hear you are back and maintaining the plugin. About the launcher, i was wondering what that was, now it just launches in the direction of the compass that it finds possible to launch, right? N first then E S and W.

Posted Sep 17, 2012So I am finally back in action ;) I will push more documentation as soon as I can (work is stressful ...).
My plan is to release a bugfix version sometime this week (if work permits). I am still trying to nail down some bugs (launcher blocks launch players in wrong directions after holding them) and some database issues.

Posted Sep 16, 2012@sparmerlin: do you mean a cart kill block, then it is a diamond ore block under the tracks, an iron block for a normal ejector.

Posted Sep 15, 2012Hey, loving the plugin. The only problem is the lacking documentation. I have been wanting to create a kill block but it doesn't say which block it is. Also Afforess' old wiki is no longer up.

Posted Sep 13, 2012Question: So I have gotten a sugar farm up and running great. My only problem is that I cannot get the sugar to move from the MinecartChest into a chest with the [collect items] sign next to it like you can do with wheat. Is that a glitch, or am I just not doing something right? Thanks!!!!

With this control block, a cart will loose 20% speed times number of ticks on the block. At 100% speed, the cart spends 3 ticks on even and 2 ticks on odd blocks.
So, a cart at 100% speed will be at 51.2% speed if it gets 3 ticks over this soul sand block, or 64% speed if it gets 2 ticks over.
This means a 100% velocity cart will be at 2.81% speed after 16 ticks spent on soul sand blocks. As it gets (very approx and does not account for slowdown after each tick inside a block that will increase actual ticks spent on it) 2 or 3 ticks over the first block, 4 or 5 over the second, 8 or 9 over the third. It will be near a full halt after 4 or 5 consecutive soul sand blocks.
Depending on your setup with autocart, defaultvelocity and "Max Speed:xxx" signs, it may achieve various results.
I guess, if you just intent to set a slow speed zone, use a "Max Speed:xxx" sign.
Here is the soul_sand as described above control block node, to define in your minecartmaniaconfiguration.xml. There is already one defined but empty. Replace it with this one and adjust the multiplier to your mileage.

Posted Sep 10, 2012I watched an outdated video using soul-sand as a 1/8 speed break, but doesn't seem to work now. Any alternatives?

Posted Sep 8, 2012The wiki is down. Anyone have instructions? Just need the how-to for modifying maximum speed using a sign.

I noticed this bug as well.
To avoid messing with powered rails:
Manage to keep the vanilla cart tracks layout, with powered rails as-is.
It's just in case you know, where there ain't be a decent minecart plugin to handle the job. At least, the minecarts keeps going in Notch mode ;)

Oh forgot to mention that when i switch it back to
Redstone disables 16.0 and redstone enables .0165
It continues to work fine just with the powered rail being off making the cart move, and the cart doesnt move with it on. With my custom settings it stops it dead no matter what setting its on

Posted Sep 4, 2012Hey I am experiencing an issue. Don't have any clue why. When I switch the Powered rail back to Redstone enables /redstone multiplier 16.0 /multiplier etc...
and Redstone disables /redstone multiplier .0165 /multiplier etc...
It just stops the minecart dead in its tracks. Don't know why its doing this. Any pointers?
