[Abandoned] MinecartMania Reborn
Minecart Mania 2.0 is a total minecart overhaul for fun and profit.
With MCM you can:
- Jump and ramp minecarts through the air
- Travel at ludicrous speeds (no derailing!)
- Set destinations for each cart and route them automatically through intersections.
- Route minecarts based on their type, contents or direction.
- Use block or signs to change speed, physics, and other properties on the fly.
- Use minecarts to farm wheat, lumber and other crops, harvest them and place them in chests
- Use advanced sensors to trigger redstone circuits based on the type, contents and direction of minecarts.

Posted Aug 6, 2012There is even a cheaper way to destroy empty minecarts: put a station block underneath an intersection, and under the station block, put an "empty:D" sign. No need to use diamond ore, deleting works perfectly with this design! We use it everywhere on our worldwide metro system to destroy runaway carts.

As I said but I try to make it clearer.
1) Use an intersection to send empty minecarts away from the main line. Intersections are built by putting a station block (bricks) under a track and then lead several tracks away from that block. Put a sign next to the brick block which says the following (see Sign Explanation)
2) Put a destroy block (diamond ore) below the new track that empty carts use
Sign Explanation
Replace <DIRECTION FOR ...> with the correct direction you want to use. use N, E, S, W for celestial directions or R, L, STR for right, left and straight
Line 1: default : <DIRECTION FOR NORMAL PASSANGER>
Line 2: empty : <DIRECTION FOR EMPTY CARTS>
And a small diagram to show how it might look like Legend:

Posted Jul 29, 2012So, I've been having a bit of an issue with Sensor Signs randomly deciding to quit working. Usually I can edit the .db file and remove the offending sensors, and recreate them with no problem, but this time that isn't working, I've tried both wired and wireless. Right now I have
my player has /st neo
but the sign no longer registers the cart passing it.

Use a station block to send empty minecarts off of the main track and then place a diamond ore block beneath a rail. All carts passing above the diamond ore block are destroyed.

Posted Jul 27, 2012What's the possibility of getting a control block that prints a message to the player as he rides over it?
It's the one feature craftbook vehicles has that this doesn't, but I like everything else in this mod better.

You could just configure it so that empty carts are removed after xx seconds of emptiness ;)

Every time I've tried it in the past two weeks it's been down. Not your fault at all, I'm just thinking it might be good to have a page or two about the control signs on this page since Afforess's wiki is so unreliable.
Sad to hear that about the Lock signs, they were very, very useful when they worked :( I guess I'll have to make carts be destroyed when you exit them so people don't spam my world with carts.

Posted Jul 21, 2012Before I install this...just wondering if it is possible to only allow certain ranks to create the control blocks...but have it so all ranks can use them?
E.g. I don't want regular users to be able to make booster blocks for their rail...but I would like them when they go over it to still get a boost...is this possible?

Lock was always buggy, I might even remove it because it cannot prevent exiting a cart properly :(

Posted Jul 18, 2012Great job with the plugin, thanks so much for reviving it. However, it's very hard to remember the old functions of MM and especially all of the different sign utilities, and Afforess's wiki isn't up anymore. Could you write a little more about everything MMR does so that myself and others have something to reference when we try to build? It took me two hours yesterday to remember how to use intersection tracks since all I had were old YouTube videos and shaky memories.
Also, the [Lock] sign doesn't seem to work. It says the cart locks when it runs over it, but when I or anyone else punches the cart it unlocks right away, so it never really locks.
