What is Prison?
Prison is a Minecraft plugin that adds all the features necessary for prison servers. Plugins for prison servers exist already, but many of them are poorly maintained, and the solid ones are paid resources. Prison eliminates the paywall and the updating hassle, and puts a one-stop solution in their place.
What can it do?
Prison has two main components - called modules - that are built-in: mines and ranks.
Mines
- Create mines for players to collect materials.
- Have mines automatically reset after a certain amount of time.
- Interactively edit the composition of your mines.
- Teleport your players to safety during a mine reset, so they don't suffocate.
Ranks
- Create ranks for users to buy.
- Use multiple rank ladders. For example, you could have a prestige ladder, or a donor ladder, etc.
- Run commands when users rank up, to give them access to new permissions or set off fireworks in their place.
- Show rank tags in chat with the help of a chat formatting plugin, such as EssentialsX-Chat.
If you have suggestions for features that you'd like to see, you should create a feature request at our issue tracker and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
Why should I switch to Prison?
If hassle-free updates and zero payments is not enough for you to consider switching to Prison, it doesn't stop there.
- Prison is modular. If you don't want to use a certain feature on your server, you can disable it in just a few keystrokes.
- Prison is completely, 100% open source. This means that your developers can make changes to the plugin to customize your server's experience, if you so desire.
- Prison is and always will be free. While we do ask for donations, all of our code, resources, and binaries are provided free of charge to the Minecraft community.
- New releases are heavily bug-tested. We test every single aspect of every new release of Prison before releasing it to the community. If a release doesn't pass our rigorous update checklist, it is iterated upon until it does. What does this mean for you? Solid updates with minimal bugs for your server.
- Prison is always expanding. We are always looking for ways to expand Prison with features that make your server run more smoothly. Additionally, we are always looking for contributions from the community, be it code contributions, feature requests, bug reports, translations, or documentation.

Oh ._. I think I found a bit of an issue. Everything for Prison says the actual color codes instead of the colors. I think this might be a typo with the plugin? Or it might be my config I dunno ._. (http://i.imgur.com/VRkoee5.png) <- There's a screenshot of it.

Posted Sep 16, 2014Yeah I have a bad feeling about this D: I don't have a tooooooon of trust in Microsoft to make Minecraft any better. Anywho, off topic, I have an issue with the plugin ._. When mines reset, players are getting stuck in them. It doesn't TP the person out of the mine or something.. they just .. die..or have to mine out.

Btw, did you guys hear that Microsoft bought Mojang? I'm getting a strange sense of terror right now... Hopefully Bukkit can still exist D:

Posted Sep 14, 2014I am not putting out any updates for my plugin until this whole Bukkit mess is resolved. Volunteers are resigning, Mojang might be bought by MICROSOFT, and there are huge incompatibilities with 1.8. If Bukkit goes down, I'm going down with it.

Download and install Vault from its project page Download and install WorldEdit from its project page. Click the download button in the sidebar and download the latest version. Drag Prison.jar to your /plugins folder Reload or restart your server

I'm using spigot 1.7.9 (build 1493) Please help me with this, because I want this plugin because I need it on my server + it looks awesome! Does the ranking system allow ranking from first rank to last rank without the ranks inbetween? Example: you start in rank D. Can you rank directly up to A or do you have to go to C, then B first?

It has been shut down. The download links have been removed due to a DMCA claim by Wesley Wolf, former Bukkit team member (forum name Wolverness), who claims Bukkit is in violation of the GPL license. We currently don't know any more about it as neither Bukkit nor Mojang have made an official statement at the time of this comment. If Mr. Wolf's DMCA claim is approved, Bukkit would either have to get rid of all of Wesley's contributions or Mojang must make the source for the Minecraft server open source. He must be pretty confident about this though. If the DMCA claim is rejected, there will be heavy consequences on Mr. Wolf. This is all the information I've gathered as of September 4th, 2014 (4:00 PM US EDT). More should be coming soon. Stay tuned to the Bukkit forums for more.

Boy they sure did break some stuff, I had to rewrite Hunger Games because they removed Portal, Water, and Lava blocks...I always thought those blocks were kinda hokey anyway. With that being said, I still don't have a 1.8 server version, Spigot just made it so 1.8 clients could connect but its still 1.7.
