Alright sure, shapeless config option added in V1.4.2!
@ToddVee
I derped earlier, blue dye wasn't working because I was reusing 'B' which was already set to be blank books, so I've opted to use lowercase letters for dyes, now available in V1.4.2!

Posted Aug 8, 2012Could you make the recipes configurable shapeless if that is possible?

That's Chest Shop's department I'm afraid, and they may have some trouble implementing such a thing because book's contents are not stored by an id (unlike maps), they are actually stored in the book item itself.
@ToddVee
Hmm, I can't seem to convince the recipe manager to accept specific colours of ink. I think craftbukkit may have slightly changed some part of the API to do with dyes, so I'm going to wait until they release the javadocs for 1.3.1RB. Also I think a recipe involving 6 different ingredients would be very confusing to players XD, but if you want I'll try later!
@JiFish
Sure, added to V1.4.1!

Posted Aug 7, 2012This plugin is exactly what I was looking for and works perfectly. Sincere thanks for writing it.
Could I be so bold as to suggest a feature? An option to prevent players from copying Written Books unless they are the player that signed it. This would be really awesome for my server.
Thanks again.

thank you so much for the fast response. Awesome you could add costumizable recipes. Speaking of logic, mine is "players on this very realistic economy server of mine should spend more play money as they have plenty of it so if there's a chance to increase the costs of copying books, let's go =)". And I think of using some recources players usually throw away or don't craft like green ink, black ink and rather unimportant things like that. Now, on my server, they need it to copy books so those items get important. Again, thank you!
edit: any chance to increase the detail of the ingredients? I would like to have a recipe that contails the colors blue (lapis), yellow (yellow ink), red (red ink), black (black inc).

Posted Aug 6, 2012Is there anyway you can make it so each book has its own custom ID and that it can work with Chest Shops.

Hmm, I think I can do that, sure! My logic for keeping the copying recipes relatively cheap (just paper, an easily farmable resource) was to encourage people to make many copies. I think of it as "when writing a book, you print it out by hand with ink and quill and lovingly bind it with leather, but the mass production of publishing drives down costs".
Alright, V1.4 has customizable recipes!

Posted Aug 6, 2012Hi,
awesome plugin, great work! A litte bit of idea from me: What about custom recipes? I mean, if I was the one to decide what is needed to copy a book, I would at least include 1 inc sack to the recipe, so like 6x paper, 2x ink...

Posted Aug 5, 2012Nice.
I want to suggest something, for book copying it would make more sense to use: book + ink sack + feather + written book = copy of written book
For maps I guess it's ok as is... altough you could do the same as book only instead of book you require paper (1 or 6 if you want - papers on side, feather on top, ink sack middle, original map bottom)

Posted Aug 5, 2012This is amazing!! I can now put instructions and such in a book and then in a chest and not run out(of course after duplicating it and adding more than 1 book)!

For 1.3 you should make a Booklicate so you can dupe books people have written :)

Posted Apr 7, 2012@RossGosling @ShadowKilla1111 I'll look into fixing the initial map creation while holding shift, I know duplicating maps while holding shift is fine.
ShadowKilla, I believe RossGosling is right and you're holding shift, as by default Notch's maps are fine with multiworld and so are my duplicates.
Edit: I was able to catch and simulate shiftclicking, and do the proper "new map spawning" id+=1 effect but the new map is not centered on the player. There don't appear to be bukkit methods to change this, I may need to delve into obfuscated Notchcode.
Edit 2: In V1.2 I've disabled shiftclicking in the normal map creation recipe, though I've added shiftclick functionality to my duplication recipe.

Posted Apr 6, 2012Hey can you make this multiworld? Whenever i craft my maps it always is map_0 for some reason, which is world 1.
