MagicSpells

Info
MagicSpells is a Minecraft Bukkit plugin that creates magic spells your players can use. Its main purpose is to give your players access to certain abilities that you might not want to give them unlimited access to. However, instead of just giving them access to boring commands, they instead get more interesting spells. Each spell can be configured in many ways:
- Reagent costs (the cost of using the spell, including items, mana, health, hunger, experience, and item durability)
- Cooldowns (the amount of time a player must wait between uses)
- Durations (how long certain effects last)
- Ranges (how far away spells can be used from their target)
- Many more options, depending on the spell
Spells can be cast by using the /cast command, swinging a configurable wand item, or both. It's also possible to have them triggered from other actions the player may take. It's all customizable.
Usage
Before a player can cast a spell, they must already know it. There are several ways a player can learn a spell:
- Taught with the teach spell
- Learned from a spellbook
- Learned from a tome
- Gained from a grant permission
- Purchased from a shop
- Being a server op (they know all spells) For example, a server op can teach Bob the blink spell by typing: ''/cast teach bob blink''.
Once a spell is learned, it can be cast either by using the ''/cast'' command or by using a wand item. Now that Bob knows the blink spell, he can either cast it by command, by typing ''/cast blink'', or he can cast it with a wand item. To select the spell, he holds the wand in his hand and right clicks. Right clicking will cycle through any spells assigned to the item he is holding. When he has the one he wants, he left clicks to cast.
If Bob does not have the required reagents for the spell, or if he has cast it recently and it is still on cooldown, he will not be able to cast the spell and will instead receive an error message.
If mana is enabled, a player can use the ''/mana'' command to see how much mana they currently have. Mana can also be configured so it is displayed on the experience bar.

Tested with the latest dev build MagicSpells-2.12-122612.jar
cast-item custom names still don't work but anvil renamed items do.

Posted Dec 28, 2012Hey all, can anyone tell me if enable-tab-completion: false works for you? I set it to false on my config and a default config and type /c then press tab in game and all spells the can be cast by command show. Some of these are not meant for ppl to cast but have to be run as external spells so i can check for modifiers or permissions, as multi-spells will just run the spells with checking.

Please try the latest dev build, I think this should be fixed.
@broluigi
What is wrong with it?
@zarakh01
Yes.
@jordan06700
You need to give scroll permissions if you want players to be able to cast the scroll spell.
@The_Bias_P11
The * node is not officially supported by Bukkit. If your permission plugin supports it but it doesn't seem to work, then it is a problem with that permission plugin.

I tested this on the lastest dev build and you are correct. It doesn't work like that anymore. It worked fine in v2.11
Please fix!

CraftBukkit v1.4.6-R0.1 Beta
MagicSpells v2.12-122111 Dev
ignore-cast-item-names: false
I think it is false by default because I didn't modify this variable. The way I set a cast item like this "278|&2TEST(double underscore)Pickaxe" and it doesn't work. It only works when I use an anvil and rename a pickaxe "&2TEST Pickaxe"(no color).

Posted Dec 24, 2012Hey nisovin i know you are on a holiday break but can you please do a quick fix for enchantments?
When you set enchantments in conjure spells they don't get added in last dev build.
Also when you just add a ; the items aren't glowing.
It still give the items but don't add the enchantments.

What version are you using? This worked yesterday.
Craftbukkit v1.4.5-R0.2
MagicSpells v2.11
Make sure you have this set to false.
ignore-cast-item-names: false
http://pastebin.com/VZk0tVc2
I don't see how the anvil would work if the item's text were in italics. Even if they added the color code it should read as "&5&lNAME" to the plugin. Hopefully the problem here was that you had ignore-cast-item-names set to true.

I've tried and it doesn't work. I used the DiabloDrops to custom a item with color code and set the cast item like you said, but it doesn't work. Then I renamed the item using an anvil with a color code like "&2", and it works.
