Yup! If you have not customized any configs (particularly spells.yml) that will always be the case. And it should be the case 90% of the time even with customizations.

So to update, is it just a simple case of replacing the .jar?

No problem! I want to add a "/magic clean ALL" option- but for now I imagine most of your wands are owned. Use "/magic list wands" to check.
The DEV build should be very stable right now, I've mainly just been playing with the automata, and I fixed that anvil issue when I realized it was broken.
Upgrading should always be safe from now on, though if you have any config customizations, make sure to keep an eye on the migration notes when upgrading to a released build.

Also is the DevBuild stable? and if so, is it possible for me to install it without breaking currently owned wands?

/wand unenchant
You can also drop them on the ground and then use
/magic clean <owner- optional, leave off for unowned wands)

The
/wand enchant
Command will turn whatever you're holding into a wand. You can then use /wand combine <wandname> or any of the other normal wand commands to upgrade it or modify it.

Doh! This was a bug, but I didn't think it made it into an actual release- sorry! It is fixed in the dev build (I can't link here, but check my web page at http://mine.elmakers.com)

Posted Apr 8, 2014If i name a wand in an anvil, it glitches and the name doesn't change, but its name glitches, for example, if it were an elder wand it'd end up: "Time (Time (Elder Wand))"

ProjectileSpell actually does do potion effects, check out the Wither and Neutron Bomb spells.
I do also plan on making a generic way to combine spells in the config, and maybe a way to cast spells on arrow hit or launch from a wand-bow.
