Metrics Collection
This plugin uses bstats for metrics collection. The information sent to bstats.org is completely anonymous, publicly viewable, and includes the following metrics:
- A unique identifier
- The server's version of Java
- Whether the server is in offline or online mode
- The plugin's version
- The server's version
- The OS version/name and architecture
- The core count for the CPU
- The number of players online
- The Metrics version
Opting out of this service can be done by editing plugins/Plugin Metrics/config.yml and changing opt-out to true, or by editing this plugin's config.yml and changing "metrics_level" to 0.

I'm afraid it may be that enchanting is just broken in 1.6 for Magic- this is basically the reason why I want to drop support for it altogether, it's too hard to keep everything working in both versions.
Honestly, I don't know when it would've broken, so I can't recommend a version you can downgrade to.
May I ask what the holdup is on upgrading your server? 1.6 is over 9 months old... !

Hi Nathan. With that line now the wand is transformed in wood sword and turns useless. Is there another way to fix it?. I understand that you drop support to 1.6.4 version. I just want to make work your plugin 100% in the 1.6.4. I only have problems with the enchants. Thank for your time.

Maybe this has something to do with the enchanting?
# The default enchanting path.
# The default default is "master" for backwards compatibility reasons
# This means that wands prior to 3.3 will be counted as Master wands regardless of type.
default_wand_path: master
I found that part inside of the config.

Those spells are in the "engineering" category- there are quite a few. Do /spells in-game for a list, or "/mgive book:engineering" for a spellbook. "/wand add <spell>" to get a spell, and "/wand add material <blocktype>" to add a material brush.
There are also some special brushes you can play with - clone, copy, replicate, erase.
You can also get a brush for any schematic with "/wand add material schematic:<schematic>". Magic comes with a few built-in schematics.
Use the tab-completion in-game to help!

Ok, thanks- it could be a bug then! I'll check it out when I can and let you know what I find.
I don't think magicspells could be interfering here.
I may have some config fixing you can do in the meantime, I can try and provide some custom enchanting.yml stuff later.

I'm using CraftBukkit 1.7.9 and Magic 3.5. Would having another magic plugin such as magicspells at the same time mess anything up? I was using MagicSpells and had both running at one point.

What version are you on? That sounds buggy... :(
I know that's hard to read, but basically it means that at level 25, it should have something close to a 2% chance of gaining 5 spells. At level 45, it's 100%. It scales in between- so it should most often be 1 spell at levels 1-25, then more frequently 2 spells, etc.
Is that not what you're seeing? If so, please let me know the version# you're on (and update to 3.5 if you haven't already), and I can test it out myself

Posted Aug 17, 2014Hello. I just wanted to ask if there is a way to make it so the wands don't gain 5 random spells from enchanting it with any enchantment level. Right now, if I enchant a wand with a Level 10 enchantment, it gets 5 random spells. If I enchant it with a Level 45 enchantment, it still gains 5 random spells. I want to change it to 1 random spell for any Level enchantment, but I don't really understand the configurations. Any chance you could help me?

Open up plugins/Magic/config.yml
Add the following line:
wand_item_enchantable: wood_sword
That should fix the problem.
Please be aware that I am completely dropping support for 1.6.x in Magic 3.6. I wanted to wait for an RB of 1.7, but frankly I just can't wait anymore.

Posted Aug 17, 2014Hi. I have a problem with the enchants of the wands. When i put a wand in the enchant table and i select a enchant level doesn't happen nothing. The wands isn't enchant. I use 1.6.4 version and the Magic 3.5. Thank you for your time. Great plugin

Right now only PotionEffectSpell supports potion effects.
FrostSpell has two parameters you can tweak for damage: entity_damage and player_damage.

Posted Aug 17, 2014im trying to customize some spells and one that im trying to do is change Frost, so that it can do some reasonable damage to players, (it seems to instakill mobs tho idk why) ive tried adding effect_harm: 10,5 to the parameters, but it dosnt seem to add the effects to the entity that was hit. how can i reliable add effects to mobs or players when they are hit by a spell?

Alright, I got it working somehow. I just made the recipe contain an item that isn't accessible in survival. Don't know why the config option doesn't work for me, but it's no big deal. Very nice plugin, will be very useful on my RPG server.
