Lumberjack
Don't you hate those big trees where you cannot reach those high blocks while standing on the ground. Trees should be felled like a boss, so take them down with Lumberjack while your feet are still touching the ground!

What does Lumberjack do?
Lumberjack detects if a player destroys a wood block that is part of a tree. The highest wood block will be destroyed instead of the block that the player destroyed, unless it is the same block of course. Works for oak, birch and redwood trees!

Help it doesn't work!?
If you have downloaded this plugin and it doesn't seem to work for you, ensure the following things:
- download the latest craftbukkit server and Lumberjack
- is Lumberjack enabled? Type the following command to be sure:
- /lumberjack enable
- does the tree you are chopping meet the following requirements?
- is block you are chopping connected to the the complete trunk?
- is the base of the trunk (the lowermost block) placed on a dirt (without grass) block?
- is the trunk of the tree connected to at least 4 naturally grown leaf blocks?
- (versions before 1.0.1v1) If you have NoCheat enabled then make sure to set the following options (found by ace1177)
- blockbreak.reach.check = false
- blockbreak.direction.check = false
- blockbreak.noswing.check = false
Lumberjack commands
As of version 1.8.1v2, Lumberjack has 4 commands. The commands can be viewed by typing /lumberjack . Most of the commands can be combined e.g. /lumberjack enable silent . It is also possible to use the shorter versions of the options, the 'hotnames' e.g. /lumberjack e s . This has the same result as the previous command.

Do you have the latest version and if you do, could you post an image of such a tree? Maybe the tree had branches that were more than one diagonal block away from other parts of the branches/trunks or the tree wasn't natural.

That is true. The reason why can be read in my previous posts. Glad you found a fix for it but I know it isn't optimal. Any suggestions to fixing this are welcome.

Had to give perm for
nocheat.checks.blockbreak.reach and nocheat.checks.blockbreak.direction

EDIT : Ok it's happend when 2 players broke same block in same time, all the server crash, and same if you remove the plugin, if one of 2 player incoming on the server, the server totally crash, we need to remove Stuff file manualy. Plz fix thanks :D

Can you add possibility to remove" [LumberJack]Lumberjack loaded and enabled ? " Silent = true don't work for me if it suppose to do that.

I think you hit the spot :P. Lumberjack fires an event due to a recent update for better plugin compatibility. But that update has enabled NoCheat to register a block break by a player out of his natural block breaking range.
So now we already have two plugins that should not react to my simulated block break event (mcMMO and NoCheat). How can I fix this? I don't know yet :S

That is a big problem, because every server should be using it. Not sure if it has to do something with destroying blocks out of site, which NoCheat looks for or not but..
I was able to single it down to that.

Posted Oct 24, 2011Hello again everyone! I have released a new version and I have changed the downloading section a little.
The new version doesn't have debug messages anymore and it saves the settings of every player in the server on the disk. Those settings will be loaded again when you restart the server!
If the downloading pages and links have become really inconvenient for you guys I will change everything back to the way it was. Go there and you'll see what I mean.

I have tested your permissions problem today and have no problems with using the Lumberjack commands. It is hard for me to fix a problem that I can replicate myself. This might be caused because I am the only player.
Would you be so kind to make a test server on which you enable only Lumberjack, and then ask some of your players to try and use it? I cannot change my modem settings because I don't have the password which prevents me from hosting a multiplayer server that is accessible from the internet.
Today I have had very little time to work on it. So far I have only removed the debug messages and done the test described above. I'd like to server-restart-persistent per player settings saving functionality before releasing a new update. I hope the debug messages are not that much of a pain?

I tried to write the code so that if a plugin cancels a block break event, the block wont break. So if worldguards works how I expect it to work then it should work <- weird sentence, but I hope you understand it :P

Posted Oct 22, 2011I am considering switching to this from ChopTree, seeing as it is updated much more frequently, but I have one question. Is it compatible with WorldGuard? E.g. If a region is protected by WorldGuard, and a player attemps to chop a tree in that area, will nothing happen? Or will it still move the logs down a block? (This was a major flaw in ChopTree)
