Loot
Requirements:
- KBPL
- If the version in the title is higher than the one on the 'recent files' list, then you will have to wait until bukkit approves the latest version since KBPL could be updated and have code that does not work with previous versions of the plugin.
What it does:
The title pretty much says it all! But to be a bit more detailed, Loot makes it easy to create chests with randomly generated loot. The best part? No commands. Oh did I mention that it adds random enchantments to armor and weapons and can spawn random potions? Yeah, that too. Its the perfect loot generator for custom dungeons and worlds with randomly generated schematics.
Features:
- Automatic Chest Regeneration Refills chests automatically using a list of items that you configure.
- Enchantments You can configure whether loot chests will spawn items with random enchantments, or you can specify the enchantments yourself.
- Potion Effects Same as the enchantments, but with potions.
- Item naming Specify a name for the items spawned in a chest! You can also configure the plugin to let it add a random preffix/suffix to enchanted items, dependent of the enchantments applied.
- Lore Add lore to any item for that true rpg feel!
- Books You can set the title, author and text of books generated!
- Colors You can set the colors of the names/lore/whatever of each item.
- Randomness A lot of the properties of any item can be randomized, including the enchantments applied, name, amount, data value, chance for it to spawn at all, etc.
- Redstone Force a chest to reset by powering the sign!

- loot.sign.create - Lets you create Loot signs.
- loot.sign.break - Lets you break Loot signs.
- loot.command.name - Ability to use the command /loot name
- loot.command.reload - Ability to use the command /loot reload
- loot.list.x - Permission to open loot chests of x list

If this plugin is missing that certain special feature, bribe me and I will gladly work on it!
While I am updating and squashing bugs for free, working on new features requires time and everyone knows that time equals money.
I am however, open to suggestions that are directly related and crucial to the plugin.

I have a feature request. On my server, I like to do little things I call "easter eggs". I want to be able to place specific chests across the world that load a certain item. I want that item to be able to be spawned for every player that clicks it. However, I'm concerned that the first player who reaches it will just destroy the chest so other players can't get what is inside. If I use residence to protect it (which is the anti-grief plugin we use), then it will appear on our Dynmap and everyone can find it with no trouble at all.
Is there a way that, if you set a loot sign up for a chest, that the chest can become automatically block protected? If this is already the case, I apologize, I've had a long week with very little sleep. I just found out our server made the top 1% on PMC... things have been hectic. :P

About soulbound, that's definitely a problem with soulbound, not loot. My plugin only deals with applying bind when the item spawns, the rest is up to soulbound. Also, I can't seem to be able to reproduce the problem, so it could be another plugin that's causing this, not soulbound or loot.
The chance problem you're having is because loot used integers to calculate spawn chance. This lead to a 'minimum' of 1, which is obviously a problem on your case. I want to upload the latest build that uses double instead of integers but I have made pretty drastic changes to make this new feature(something I wont mention for now haha) work. Its not complete at the moment but I might make a temporary 'cover-up' of the feature within the plugin to be able to upload sooner, as it may take a while.

Posted May 31, 2013I'm guessing you missed what I said a few pages ago, but it was nested in another message (to avoid spam), so here it is again (it's actually kind of a big deal here):
To the plugin author, I don't know if this is a product of the Loot plugin or the Soulbound plugin, but since I've been posting here, I'll give you the scoop first. One of my players recently discovered that if they attempt to loot a bind-on-pickup item when their inventory is full, with the option to not move items into chests is active, it then immediately binds it to them and they cannot withdraw it from the chest.
In the meantime, I've converted all my soulbinding items into binds-on-use/equip, but that lets the players then trade the items and I may not necessarily want that to be the case every time.
Also, spawn chances below 1% do not seem to do anything. My dungeon chests are just spawning tons of loot and rares are spawning like mad, despite having a 1-in-10,000 chance of spawning. Had one guy get 5 of my Cutter Boxworth's Boxcutters (a rare diamond sword) in about 2 hours, and another player getting 2 in 10 minutes. I know RNG is RNG, but because of the Soulbound/Loot bridge bug, they are all bind-on-equip, and people are just selling them instead of using them. It seems really excessive and I may have to disable the plugin altogether.

When using more than one item you'll need to use the item's name, not id. It has to do with how the configurations are read, I'll clarify this a bit more on 'The Configuration File' page :)

There's the command '/loot name' that will give you the name for the held item used by bukkit. You can see the commands typing '/loot help'

Posted May 29, 2013Sorry for bothering you again, but I seem to be having a problem with having two items with the same id. I have tried using the -1 then -2 method, but when I do it spawns neither. If I do not use this it spawns one of them, and if I use it on the second one it spawns only the one without the number tag. I made a google doc with the config so you can check it out: https://docs.google.com/document/d/16HKKShxuO8zMuHqOKeakimfxGzKIEeVYh7-SWAX8CK8/edit?usp=sharing as soon as I make it 268-1 there are console errors saying it cannot retrieve the item. I made the two swords identical to except in name so that the error could only be coming from the use of the -1 and -2. Thank you

Thanks for your help, I ended up solving it myself before I read your message :P My world name is in full caps and, as you said, your plugin doesn't work when the world name is in caps. I first changed the config world to lowercase and it still didn't work, in the end I had to change the whole world folder to lowercase. Dumb move on my point for making a world name all caps, many plugins don't like that :P Rookie move. Thanks!

Everything seems to check out. If you're not getting any errors in the console, try putting the world name in lowercase, I think it might be an error the plugin had that I already fixed for the next version (did it some time ago so I cant say for sure).

Posted May 28, 2013I can't seem to get the world loot working, the signs work under the chests but i'm planning on having hundreds of chests, which is time consuming to type out, to say the least :P
This is the code I have in the config
The world name is DZCRAFT and the list name is "normal" however the loot chests don't work, am I doing something wrong? Thanks.

Posted May 28, 2013Hi, I'm having a bit of a problem with this plugin. When I run it on my server it never creates a folder with the config files, and as such much of the functionality is impaired. I am running 1.5.2 with Citizens, Heroes and Quests as my only notable other plugins. Any idea how to fix this? Also is it possible to use this in conjunction with chestshop? So I have a chest that remains full of unique items for people to buy. Thanks.

The data value represents the damage done to the sword. An iron sword, for example, has a durability of 251. By setting it's data value to 1, you are 'damaging' the sword by 1 point, making it 250.

You're supposed to open the chests, not destroy them. If this is happening automatically then make sure that you don't have another plugin causing this.

Posted May 27, 2013We noticed something about potions that spawn in these chests. Regular potions that spawn in our mines can be brewed again to increase duration or strength, but cannot be turned into splash potions. Do you know why this might be?
