Loot
Requirements:
- KBPL
- If the version in the title is higher than the one on the 'recent files' list, then you will have to wait until bukkit approves the latest version since KBPL could be updated and have code that does not work with previous versions of the plugin.
What it does:
The title pretty much says it all! But to be a bit more detailed, Loot makes it easy to create chests with randomly generated loot. The best part? No commands. Oh did I mention that it adds random enchantments to armor and weapons and can spawn random potions? Yeah, that too. Its the perfect loot generator for custom dungeons and worlds with randomly generated schematics.
Features:
- Automatic Chest Regeneration Refills chests automatically using a list of items that you configure.
- Enchantments You can configure whether loot chests will spawn items with random enchantments, or you can specify the enchantments yourself.
- Potion Effects Same as the enchantments, but with potions.
- Item naming Specify a name for the items spawned in a chest! You can also configure the plugin to let it add a random preffix/suffix to enchanted items, dependent of the enchantments applied.
- Lore Add lore to any item for that true rpg feel!
- Books You can set the title, author and text of books generated!
- Colors You can set the colors of the names/lore/whatever of each item.
- Randomness A lot of the properties of any item can be randomized, including the enchantments applied, name, amount, data value, chance for it to spawn at all, etc.
- Redstone Force a chest to reset by powering the sign!
- Uses Soulbound You can download the soulbound plugin for added functionality! Visit the plugin page here.
How it works:
Important Notes:
- Requires KBPL
- The way bukkit names effects is different than the default minecraft effects, so here are some tables of the names you should use on the config file:
Enchantments
Potion Types
- You can find the color codes here.
Permissions:
- loot.sign.create - Lets you create Loot signs.
- loot.sign.break - Lets you break Loot signs.
- loot.command.name - Ability to use the command /loot name
- loot.command.reload - Ability to use the command /loot reload
- loot.list.x - Permission to open loot chests of x list
Requesting new features:
If this plugin is missing that certain special feature, bribe me and I will gladly work on it!
While I am updating and squashing bugs for free, working on new features requires time and everyone knows that time equals money.
I am however, open to suggestions that are directly related and crucial to the plugin.

Ok, fair enough. I guess it depends on how you want the chests to be set up, personally i'm trying to create huger games like setup.

Made a quick picture of how the sign should be set up! Quite a bit clearer to understand now :)
About the min-max values in the config, its just that it would end up having min-max values per list, not per chest. I'll think about it but the configuration is a bit confusing as it is :P

Posted Aug 28, 2012Thanks for the new feature, i'm trying it now!
I'm getting a little confused so could you post a example image of a sign or something, that would be great!
Edit:
Just thinking, If you can it may be easier to add the min-max limits in the config? This way people don't have to change all the signs for the chests. e.g.
common: detailed: false min: 5 max: 5 items:
Just a thought, if it's not possible then it's not a problem.

Well, redstone triggered would do for now :) That way I can make the loot regenerate when people finish a maze and such.
Anyway, thanks for a great plugin!

That is correct :)
And the download takes time to be approved by bukkit, so that's up to them :P
About the reset suggestion... I think I know what you mean. So if a player is close to a chest, the items should not respawn? At least until they are far away enough?
I think I could do something like that... but instead, it should be that when a player is nearby, it stops counting down, and resumes when he's beyond the radius.

Posted Aug 27, 2012so if i want to set up a sign that has both min and max with block height, do i set it like this?
[loot]
material
7
1-3:6
???
also where is the 2.3.0 download?
alsoooooo xD umm. i have a new suggestion.. maybe if you are too close the chests dont reload and says something like, "you are too close for the chests to reset" or something.. should have this in the config like:
World
radius: (how many blocks, 0 is off)

Added being able to set the min-max amount of items in a chest using the last line of a sign and now you can use ':' to set the data value of an item. (Using '|' still works)

Here's a little example on how the list should look like:
lvl1:
detailed: false
items:
- coal,0-4,25,true
- apple,0-1,25,true
- gold_nugget,0-2,25,true
- arrow,3-8,25,true
Also, you don't need to use the 'true' statement if you're just going to want everything randomly enchanted. Like this:
- coal,0-4,25
exactly the same as the old config, only now you separate min-max with a hyphen :)

The undetailed format is almost exactly the same as the old version :p
The only problem with your config is that you're separating the min-max values with a comma, when it should be with a hyphen.
I see that you put 2 worlds lists in there, omen and omen2 should be on the same list. Also, remember that the worlds in the worlds list is for worlds that you want chests spawning items automatically, without a loot sign under them. It's not necessary to have a a world in this list to make loot signs work.
I know its a bit complicated, but alot of people want to be able to customize exactly the type of items that will appear in a chest
Its for the best! xD
I'll probably make a video, but it will be w/o voice because my mic isn't recording for some reason and I can't afford a new one :P

Posted Aug 27, 2012@XxkmachoxX I honestly do not like your new cfg.. it's way to complicated. The notes on your cfg file does not help aswell... i deleted part of your cfg in hopes it would still work. but it wont.

You have an error in the configuration file when trying to get the percent chance for an item to appear. I'll add a little message to appear indicating what list in the next version. And the version number is an error on my part xD, dont worry, you're using the latest version.
@mazter_redz
That's already a planned feature, will probably release later today :)

Posted Aug 27, 2012Hey, It would be really useful if I was able to configure the number of items that spawn in the chests, this would limit them to an amount of items that spawn in them. It would be great and stop inherited chests filling up worth loads of stuff where i'd like to limit the number of items they generate to 5 or 10 items from the list.

This plugin already supports data values! Use "|" instead of ":" :D
I see that alot of people use the latter though, might change it to that.
@KevinToday
Are you using version 2.2.4? Older versions used commas instead of hyphens.
@unenergizer
Thank you so much! Every little bit helps! :D
@MrMightyGnome
Someone mentioned that in an earlier comment, will add that for the next version!
@orgin_org
Can add redstone triggered loot, but will probably take time to add per player inventories :/
