Lights Plugin
New version Version 2.0
Info:
With DNET Lights you can make arrays of glowstone lights that can be switched on and off using stone buttons, You can add as many lights (Glowstone blocks) and as many switches (Stone Buttons) to an array as you require. When a switch for an array is pressed all of the glowstone blocks change to obsidian blocks and stop emitting light, when a switch is pressed again they change back to glowstone and start emitting light again.
DNET Lights is easy to set up just place the .jar in your servers plugins folder its that simple, theres no config required.
Instructions:
To start creating an array use the command /lcreate <arrayname> <material>, The new array will be created and you will enter edit mode to start editing the array. Target your lights (glowstone blocks) and switches (stone buttons) and use command /ladd to add the block to the array, Alternatively use the command /lplacemode to toggle placemode on, any blocks you place now will be automatically added to the array as a light or a switch depending on block type. To remove any light or switch from an array simply break the block while in edit mode. When you have finished use the command /lfinish to save changes to the array and exit edit mode. You can make changes to an existing array by using the command /ledit <arrayname> when you have finished editing simply issue the command /finish to save the changes.
Commands:
- /lcreate <name> <material> = create light array with the given material as its Off-Block Material.
- /ladd = add targeted glowstone block as a light or Stone Button as a switch.
- /lplacemode = toggles placemode.
- /lfinish = stop editing and save created array.
- /ldelete <name> = Delete an array if you are the player that created it or if you are an Op.
- /llist = Lists all arrays created by you.
- /loffblock <material> = Use when editing an array to specify a new Off-Block Material.
The projects website can be found here:

Posted Aug 12, 2012Would you consider giving us the option to use redstone lamp (off) instead of obsidian for when the lights are off?

Posted May 23, 2012Sorry to all requesting redstone lamp support but... Without changing the way redstone works, redstone lamps won't work with this plugin setting a block type to RedstoneLampOn they immediately turn off due to the lack of redstone power, for the same reason some wireless red stone plugins use normal torches for off state instead of using redstone torchches as they turn back on after a short time

Posted May 15, 2012Could you add the capability of Redstone Lamps? Aside from your plugin not having this, I really like it! It's very clean and easy to use.

I see where your coming from but this plugin's original purpose was for use solely on Delphi-Net private servers to provide a way of having switchable lighting for Street Lamps and lighting in buildings and when combined with sensor blocks from DNETUtilities (never publicly released) allow us to have lights that automatically come on when it gets dark and go off when it gets light.
This plugin was only made publicly available on the incase that someone might find it useful, and we at Delphi-Net are sure people will still find a use for it, seeing as Lanterns in 1.2 need redstone dust connected to them meaning that you still have to find a way of hiding it.
While we are coding this plugin for use on our servers it isn't a great deal more effort to just publish each version here. If you have any other questions, or comments please feel free to leave a comment here or email me at delphi.net.guy@gmail.com

Posted Mar 2, 2012Maybe this plugin isn't worth the effort anymore, since we have redstone lighting in 1.2? It involves a lot of slash commands, and surely some maintenance work on your part (the developer), and yet now we can do better with just plain redstone in Vanilla (I say better becuase it's easier, better fits into the game's player experience, and glowstone is notoriously rare in successful servers).

Posted Feb 28, 2012I cannot get this plugin to work properly...It get in game and follow the commands and don't get any errors. I do /ladd on a glowstone block and then on a stone button. Then I do /lfinish and it saves the array. Then when I hit the stone button nothing happens.
I just looked in the Lights folder in my plugins folder and there is no config file...Is this normal? If not why did it not create a config file?
Also when I hit the button this shows up in my server cmd console: "Could not pass even org.bukkit event.PlayerInteractEvent to Lights" and a whole bunch of other error lines show up.

Thanks for your answer. :)
Ah, that is what /lplacemode is for. you may want to add a little more description to the command as I was not able to comprehend what it does from the command list above. :o)
Thanks for considering my suggestion and for the offer to convert my config for me. I think the replacemode-idea will suffice. :)

Thanks for the feedback, a feature like that would indeed be possible and will look into making a system like that for next version, also the command at the moment if you use /lplacemode you can break and replace block which is quicker than using /ladd on each block, or send your old config.yml file to Kawandaio2011@gmail.com and ill convert it to new format for you

Posted Feb 23, 2012This is quite a nice plugin, but I have a suggestion to improve it.
As you changed the way the plugin works I have to recreate my light arrays. That is quite some work if you installed complex array configurations, especially as you have to target each and every glowstone to add it to the array.
Would it be possible to define a tool (like the tools in e.g. WorldEdit or VoxelSniper) that adds new objects (glowstone or switches) to an array that was just created or opened for editing by right-clicking?
The process could be:
1. create a new array or open one that already exists by issueing the command /lcreate or /ledit [arrayname]
2. rightclick glowstone and switches with tool to add them to the array
3. issue /lfinish
That would make the whole process of creating arrays of lights and switches way easier.
Thanks for thinking about it. :o)
