Law
Law
Have you ever needed to punish players without right-out banning them, maybe they are a friend that just needs a reminder as to the true values of Minecraft, if so then Law might be the answer. Law allows you to warp players into prisons that you have built and provides a lovely set of in-game commands to aid the process.

NOTE: Whilst in alpha, new releases of Law may (and probably will) require a removal of existing data. This shortcoming will be remedied soon and before any beta releases.
Features
Currently Law provides the prison punishment, but will expand in the future to cover other ways to let players know "thats not how things go on this server".
Prison
- Build and define prisons with cells for locking up the bad guys.
- Imprison or free players with a single command, even if they are offline
- Players imprisoned/freed while offline appear in the correct location when they next join.
- As well as multiple cells, you can have multiple prisons in multiple worlds.
- Imprisoned players cannot perform interactions or break blocks, preventing escape.
- Prisoners inventories are confiscated and returned to them when freed.
General
- Intelligently saves plugin state to file after every command, which prevents losing changes after a server crash.
- Supports integration with permission plugins, with sensible defaults otherwise.
Todos Before Release
- Possibly integrate with economy plugins for a bail feature.
Provide an imprisonment period, so that prisoners are freed automatically after a certain duration (like real life).
Visionary Goals
- Have other areas to a prison, such as a courtyard or canteen where imprisoned players will find themselves at different times throughout the day, where they can meet other prisoners for a chat.
- Allow prisoners to break blocks such that they could escape with their bare-hands, but have NPC guards which track them down if they escape.
- Have activities for prisoners to do which may earn them small amounts of money, or have benefit after release.

Posted Nov 10, 2011The muting is not a form of punishment, but is merely a necessity with player who use hate speech as soon as they are jailed.
Also the afk limiter is not for the first time offenders who have short sentances. Its for the nasty nasty repeat offender who is always in jail over and over. Makes them suffer. Before the afk feature was added so recividist hackers with 3 hours sentances never want to see my jail evar again.

My thought is that the duration of imprisonment should be static and not extended by periods of inactivity. This allows players to know when someone is "getting out", and further gives a reassurance of the prisoner being out of your hair for that specific amount of time.
I think the emphasis should be on the time other players are "free" of the prisoner rather than specifically enforcing that the prisoner should actively endure say 5 hours of imprisonment. I say by all means let them log off or do nothing in-game in that time, that's up to them.
Also the muting of players might be a punishment I implement as a state independent to being in prison. Maybe also providing a flag in the imprison command to do it all in one step.

Yes I am sure that preventing commands would be possible. I think I will prevent all command usage and have configurable a white list of allowed commands. I'll ad that to my list of ideas.

Posted Nov 8, 2011I WANT THIS. PM ME AS SOON AS YOU ADD TIMER!! ALSO ADD A "JAIL MUTE" COMMAND!!! alot of times we jail some idiot and he starts spamming like a moron. but i dont necessarily want to ban these tards, but they need time to cool down. also if you do a timer, make sure that if someone is afk for X minutes, it stops counting down the timer. that way ppl cant just go take a nap then troll some more.
i use the Jail plugin but its rickety and takes freaking forever to make the jail cells.

v0.9.1 Adds a duration to the imprison command.
However be warned, at this stage future versions will be incompatible with previous versions (something I'm working on next is proper data migration).

This will be the next feature I will add, I think it will be a fairly simple addition.
