Do you love kitties? You want to protect them, but don't want to make them immortal? Then here is your solution! Every time somebody hits or shoots a cat, a lightning strike will teach him some respect.
This is my very first plugin for bukkit. It works with the Build 1.4.5-R0.2 (R1.0 should work just as fine).
Features:
- Every Player, who hits or shoots a cat, will get struck by lightning
- Protected pets are immune against lightning
- Works with PermissionsBukkit
- No lightning strikes for pet owner (optional) (Permission)
- Configurable
- Alternative punishments (lightning, fire)
Planned Features:
- Some more kitty-features
- More punishments
Known Bugs:
- Lightning may cause fire
Please give me some feedback. :)

Permissions
kitty.protect - Does not smite the player on hurting cats (Default: OP)
kitty.owner - Does not smite if owner of cat (Default: false)
kitty.puppy.protect - Does not smite the player on hurting wolfs (Default: OP)
kitty.puppy.owner - Does not smite if owner of wolfs (Default: false)
Configuration
protectKitty: true #Should cats be protected?
protectPuppy: false #Should wolfs be protected?
punishment: lightning #Punishment options: lightning, fire
fireTicks: 400 #If punishment is fire, how long should the damager burn? (in ticks)
protectWild: true #Should untamed cats/dogs be protected?

Did you try the 1.4.5? Im not sure, but it should work the same for 1.4.6. If it doesn't, just shoot a comment and I look into it.

Posted Dec 18, 2012Okay, okay, I get it. Im uploading a 1.4.5-version of it. I dont test it completly, so you have to find and report the bugs here. Im fixing whats broken, but i dont think i will add features in the near future.
Edit: Looking at the poll, I should overthink to not add features... ;o

If you set the protect-Options both to false, the plugin will do nothing.
What permissions-plugin are you using? It works fine with normal bukkit-permissions, the plugin can work with others, but there are not supported.

with nodes, nothing works. everyone can kill no matter tamed or untamed.
and
protectKitty: true protectPuppy: true when set to true, and the nodes permissions are given or not, it smites when killing tamed or untamed
