APRIL 17, 2013 UPDATE

Yahtze & Latros are long-time Minecraft server hosts. They both ran Battlecraft, one of the largest and most successful servers in the history of MC - paving the way for Minecraft PvP Servers to eventually grow and become one of the most popular genres. Some ideas/requests of mine for now:
- If you type /guild or /guild help, incorporate somewhere to show guild leaders they have the ability to type /guild powers; causes less confusion for players.
- When you set a guilds home, can an alternate command for /guild power hometele be /guild home?
- An option to delete your guilds home
Also how do you use guild chat? /gc doesn't seem to work anymore.

Posted Feb 21, 2013I've been looking for a decent alternative to factions/towny for ages, and it looks like I've found it! Unfortunately, no matter what version of your plugin I try to load(including the newest), I receive the same error. I hope to use Guilds on my server when it's functional.

I've had my eye on that actually! I think if the API allows us to display their Guild's name below their user name, I would be all over that, I think it's really cool!

Posted Feb 20, 2013Do you plan on adding a feature that would show the person's guild below their username as is possible using the features of 1.5's commandblocks? My server will probably have commandblocks disabled unless there are able to be restrictions put on the commands they can use, so there won't really be any way to have anything but their guild in the 'belowname' slot.
Of course, I suppose there really isn't any way for you to know for sure if that will be a possible feature until 1.5, and its craftbukkit developer API is out. But still, if you could, would you?

I'll be able to add a togglable option in the land protection config to allow or deny pistons from moving blocks into protected zones, yea. Stopping water may be a bit more difficult, so we'll have to see.
as for your question towards Latros, our plugin is compatible with all chat plugins, so you can use our guild chat channel, or those plugins channels, doesnt matter

HeyHo Yathe, I meant nothing form both questions.
My Idea was is that there is a Option: Blocks-Can-Move-Into-Protected-Areas: True/False (Move, per Piston or Waterflow, or Tree.) So that other cant just build a Piston train witch just moves the wall away.
Or things like Water can“t flow from Non-Protected Areas INTO Protected Areas, if you set Water one Block before the Protected Region begans.
That were just an Idea, because I saw other Servers that denied Redstone-Machine-Attacks on Bases and gave an ban for them, but others want the creativity from the Users.
It were just an Idea upcomming.
And @latros
Is there a way to combine the Plugin-Chat with for Example LiveChat or Herochat, because they have more Features and it would end up pretty nice. (I think these Plugin-Author has to implement or?)

Chat is now customizable! In the Config.yml, change "General: Chat_Prefix: <X>" to whatever you want! Just know that "X" == "guild name". So if you wanted [GuildName], you would do [X]. It's also compatible with colors too. Also, now you can customize guild tags for each guild with colors using "/guild admin changetag guildname newtag" (example: /guild admin changetag Avengers &1A&2v&3e&4n&5g&6e&7r&8s). Enjoy! Please report back with any bugs you find.

Thank you for the information! We're still investigating that error when you first start the server up with the plugin, Yahtze might have it fixed tonight.
As for the permissions issue; we're switching to Vault to handle our permissions checks... I'm fairly certain that needing to relog is a PEX issue, but it might get fixed when we implement Vault.
And thanks for the input! Expect a ton of changes. It's technically "release" but we still have a long way to go.
Oh, and in the latest version (being uploaded now), you can change how the guild tags are displayed in-game (Example: [Guild] <Guild> =Guild= etc, you can make it whatever you want, even adfa4948rafGUILDfasiduofads). Its customizable in the config, with colors too, so make it match your servers chat however you like.

NOTE: Only Guilds v1.2.5.0 onwards supports custom guild tag colors + changing the in-game appearance of guild tags.

Posted Feb 20, 2013Started using this plug-in on my own server as a replacement for Towny & Factions. First issue was that the config wasn't generating text within it for the first 15 minutes or so of doing /reload & restarting the server. It did appear eventually & could well be an issue on my side :)
Another that I noted that when adding the perms to a rank, the players of that rank would need to relog for the perms to take effect (Using PermissionsEx). Usually perms take effect without the need of the players having to relog. Likely to be a fault of PermissionsEx, but want to give feedback & experience where I can relating to this plug-in.
Once things were up & running, everything looks very smooth & an easy to understand interface. I look forward to the coming updates & development of this plug-in :) I'll also donate once more features have been worked out & I feel the plug-in is starting to come into its own.

Glad to hear! I normally have my yml generation and management(commands etc...) in a class of its own, never really had problems, but can't wait for the fixes!
