APRIL 17, 2013 UPDATE

Posted Feb 18, 2013Started using the plugin today! :) Will update this post until it gets a reply with any bugs/requests I find.
A few bugs I've encountered:
- When you type /guild list when there are no Guilds it throws an error.
- When I type /gc for chat, the message shows twice. Don't know if this is a plugin conflict or a coding error.
- If you're the guild leader and you promote yourself, your rank changes to null.
- Guild leader is able to demote himself.
- As the leader of a Guild, I was able to kick myself (should work in a similar way as leaving the guild as a leader)
Requests:
- When a user types '/guild', with no args, could you make it so it automatically shows the /guild help?
- Could you make it possible to change the maximum char. length of a guild (configurable)
- This might be planned as a feature, but admin/moderation tools & permissions so that users with zguilds.admin or whatnot could join any guild, disband any guild, etc.

Hello plugin users/commenters! I am just quickly sending a few of you more active testers a quick ping about the status of the plugin.
The latest uploaded version 0.9.2.1 contains functional guild chat, and totally functional guild creation / deletion / management / general commands / chat prefixes / etc. I hope you have all updated to test out that new one.
As I said to several other people, I was working on (optional) Land Control next - that is, people being able to claim land for their guild. I also wanted to work on PvP artifacts - a way to entice "Guild Wars" and other (optional) PvP-related features later on.
However during the process of finishing up the land control portion, and when I was about to start the PvP artifacts section, I came to the dreaded realization that I would need to rebuild a large chunk of the base of the plugin. I began that process late last night and worked on it all today. I removed a couple thousand lines of code and am in the process of re-writing it all to be more efficient.
So, yeah. Apologies on the delay of newer versions past 0.9.2.1! I am just finishing up re-coding the base to be more efficient.
The good news is, I have a new plugin author! Yahtze is a real life friend of mine and fellow coder. With the influx of downloads and feature requests, I will feel much less overwhelmed by having him to help me out! I am going to be delegating portions of the plugin to his control and we're sharing all of the code on github... so now updates should come twice as fast, twice as often, once he and I are done reworking the base! Oh, and we might be renaming the plugin, we're not sure.
Figured I'd update you all! Have a good week, (hopefully) expect a new version with land control to be released tonight after dinner! (monday, EST)

Very Nice, if there are any new features to be tested/Ideas to be created. Ask me I´ll do my best. Also I packed the features which require interfacing with other plugins in an extra category. I know how much work it is.

All of them are great :) Suggestions which require interfacing with other plugins (EG mcmmo, heroes, etc) would require those plugins to have an open source API that is easy to use and understand... which isn't the case a lot of the time. Nevertheless, I will look through some of them and see if its possible to interface with them.
In terms of "resetting" the artifacts on a preset timer; I had intended to do that, yes. Like you said, it would be necessary, otherwise the big / well defended clans would just hoard them all the time.
As for tonights progress: The land control stuff, which originally had me wracking my brain out of confusion, is almost complete! I'm stoked about that. Expect a new version of the plugin to be released tomorrow afternoon/morning which will include guild land claiming!

Posted Feb 15, 2013So, capital letters. When I made the guild "Test", I did /guild rosterview Test. It showed my name in all lower caps and the guild name in lower caps.
That's the one spot I noticed. Other then that, expect to hear from me periodically when I start using the plugin when my server opens. We're just in the building phase at the moment.

To address your concerns;
1 - Capitol letters - which specific instances don't show capitol letters? I thought I fixed that. Give me a list of spots where capitol letters aren't showing up, and I'll fix it ASAP :)

Starting a RP-Server and I'm using your plugin. I like the exp contribution system and how it doesn't protect land. Anyways,
Few minor things: -Capital letters don't show up (It just bugs me) -I can't for the life of me find the permission nodes (I must be blind) -I'd split up the /guild help into 2 pages, it's quite the flood of text at the moment.

That Idea you posted seems legit. I think that will work for more PvP.
I´ve some ideas for effects that Guilds could gain/Server admins to set. Here is a small List of them: General:
Buffs/Debuffs:
And Other Plugin bound Ideas (Maybe later)
That are just some Ideas I had, maybe some will be added later. Also I know how much work is it for you to create a Plugin, without earning etc.. Maybe My Server can support you later.
But I see one Problem when there are huge and good defended Guilds. The Artefact would be forever on this Guild Claim. I had an Idea for resetting the Artefact, or for Spawning them so there is a Fight also.
Maybe there should be a ruine defined by an admin (Your Plugin just needed the Chest) and the Artefact is resetting after a Time, maybe something like its loosing Energy after time, so longer its away from home (Maybe just a Tale or defined (Tale doesnt needed to code so much).
Also thank you for responding so fast, I´ll help how I can to improve this genial Plugin. And if I nerv, dont be angry, I dont mean it so. I appreciate your work. :-3

Hey Sonorpearl; the artifacts are going to be harder than land control, and I almost have land control finished, so I'm going to finish that first. Then I'm going to start working on the artifacts. Sorry! Development takes a long time for me, I like to make sure I get things done right the first time.
The way I see artifacts working, by the way, is as follows; - Each guild has a "guild artifact chest" - which they mark by typing a command, then clicking a chest (they should probably put the chest at the safest location in their base). Then, that chest is defined as an "artifact chest" - it can ONLY contain artifacts.
- Then, server owners create artifacts. There will be 5 types to start, each giving 1 guild-wide buff. Server owners give these 5 artifacts out to random guilds. Once those guilds put the artifact in their chest, the entire guild is given the buff for that artifact.
- Every 10 minutes, the plugin "scans" each of the artifact chests on the server, and distributes the buffs again. So, if during a 10 minute window, Guild A stole Artifact 1 (speed buff) from Guild B, and Guild A successfully puts the artifact in their chest... the next time a 10-minute-scan happens, it will scan and see "Guild B no longer has Artifact 1, removing the guild buff". It will also see "Guild A now has Artifact 1, giving guild buff".
That's a basic overview of how it will work to start :)

I guess I worded that poorly: zGuilds does NOT currently contain land protection, so you would use a different plugin for that.
That's for the time being. I began working on land control code last night, and while it might take me a few days to truly wrap my head around, I expect at least the basic framework of zGuilds land protection should be done this week sometime. My goal is for it to be a mix between chunk-based and "region" based (similar to worldguard).
