New Version Here!

Ever wanted to have a Harry Potter styled duel in minecraft? Or maybe just wanted call down lightning on your foe? How about a special wand/rod that lets you do all those big jumps you could only dream of?

Well, now you can! Grab a Blaze rod, grab some ingredients, and craft yourself one of the many Rods. Then go use it however you feel like using it!

Basically, LightningRod adds magical wands/staffs to minecraft, in the simplest form possible!

How It Works

I've added a few new recipes to the game for all the Rods, all you need to do is craft a rod, and then right click to use its power (It will use up 1+ rod), not too hard, eh?

Rods

These are the Rods that this plugin currently has, I will be adding more, my goal is 50 Rods!

Lightning Rod

What else would the first one be?!?! This Rod, when right clicked, will call to the gods for help and they will send down a bolt of lightning, with a max range of 30 blocks (configurable). ID: lightning

Health Rod

This is a pretty simple Rod, all it does when you right click is ask the gods for a bit more time and they send down 5 extra hearts for your survival (configurable). ID: health

Companion Rod

This one is my favorite Rod so far, what you do is right click with it and...BAM, you get 1 tamed dog (configurable) to help you fight and/or protect you! ID: companion

Hunger Rod

Have you ever been in the middle of a duel and your hunger drops below 9 porkchops? You know you should eat so you can get your health regen back, but it takes FOREVER to eat when your in the middle of a battle! What this Rod does when you right click is instantly fill up 7.5 porkchops (configurable)! ID: hunger

Creeper Rod

This nifty little Rod lets you do something you've always wanted to do; Spawn a creeper on top of your enemy! All you do is aim and click, and POOF, 1 (configurable) creeper just spawns where you clicked, but be careful, these creepers will still attack you, so you better make sure they blow up your enemy before you!!! ID: creeper

Explosion Rod

I'm pretty sure you can guess what this Rod does! Your right, just aim 'n' click, and BOOM an explosion just a little bit smaller then TNT happens where ever you aimed, with a max range of 30 blocks (configurable). ID: explosion

Ender Rod

This one isn't too complicated, just right click and you throw an ender pearl! ID: ender

Parkour Rod

This one is really useful, after you click you get 15 seconds (configurable) of Speed III and Jump Boost II!!! ID: parkour

Fire Rod

This one was suggested by bobhull517, it is basically a fire charge, on a stick, that you can shoot! ID: fire

Arrow Rod

Ever wanted a rapid-fire bow? Well, this will kinda work :P just right click with it and it shoots 3 (configurable) arrows in rapid succession! ID: arrow

Weather Rod

Now I know you'll love this one! Just click with it and it will toggle the state of the weather, no more rainy days! Thanks for the idea Robbekes_ ID: weather

Recipes:

Basically, every rod needs 1 Blaze Rod (configurable, you could try a stick, or a golden pickaxe, anything you want :) ) and some ingredients that match its effect, whenever you put this together and in the right pattern you get 4 (configurable) of the rod you were crafting!

At first glance this recipe might seem a bit strange, its just some of the ingredients needed to make a speed potion.

Installation...

Download the latest LightningRod.jar and place it in your "plugins" folder, run the server once to generate the config file and your set!

Config.yml

The config.yml file has options for so that you can change the names you want for the rods, the item ID for the rod, the cost for each use, and customize the power/amount of each effect. If you wanna see the sample config its here.

Please note: this config is not going to be THE newest, but it should have all the major options :)

Commands:

• /lr, is used to access all of the commends.
• /lr reload, reloads the config.yml file.
• /lr help, redirects the user to this page for help
• /lr spawnrod [rod ID], call this commend with any rod ID (Get those from above) and it will give you 64 (configurable) of those rods.

Permissions:

These are for any permissions plugin for bukkit (I recommend PermissionsBukkit or PermissionsEx)

All the permissions for this plugin start with "lr" (LightningRod)

• lr.*: Gives all permissions for the plugin.
• lr.reload: Allows use of the /lr reload command.
• lr.help: Allows use of the /lr help command.
• lr.spawnrod: Allows use of the /lr spawnrod command.
• lr.use.*: Allows use of all Rods.
• lr.use.healthrod: Allows use of the Health Rod.
• lr.use.companionrod: Allows use of the Companion Rod.
• lr.use.lightningrod: Allows use of the Lightning Rod.
• lr.use.hungerrod: Allows use of the Hunger Rod.
• lr.use.creeperrod: Allows use of the Creeper Rod.
• lr.use.explosionrod: Allows use of the Explosion Rod.
• lr.use.enderrod: Allows use of the Ender Rod.
• lr.use.parkourrod: Allows use of the Parkour Rod.
• lr.use.firerod: Allows use of the Fire Rod.
• lr.use.arrowrod: Allows use of the Arrow Rod.
• lr.use.weatherrod: Allows use of the Weather Rod.

Effects:

lightning_rod: This sets the max distance of the Lightning Rod.

health_rod: This sets the amount of health you get from the health Rod, it can be anywhere from 0-20.

companion_rod: This sets how many companions (tamed dogs) will spawn when you use the Rod.

hunger_rod: This sets the amount of food you get from the Hunger Rod, it can be anywhere from 0-20.

creeper_rod: This sets how many creepers will spawn when you use the Rod.

explosion_rod: This sets the max distance of the Explosion Rod

ender_rod: This does nothing at the moment :(

parkour_rod: This sets how long the potion effects will last for.

fire_rod: This does nothing, yet :P

Arrow Rod: This sets how many arrows will fire when this Rod is used.

Weather Rod: No features here, maybe you guys could help?

Planed Rods

This is where I'm going to be putting all the rods I plan on making and ones that other people suggest!

• Posion Rod: Shot posion potions out of this Rod!
• Jail Rod: Encases/Entombs target in a certain block! Thanks 007godofwar!
• Ghast Rod: Shoots ghast sized fireballs! Thanks tatulda!
• Glow Rod: Places down a block of glowstone at whatever you were point at!
• Cake Rod: Spawns a cake right before your eyes (Not a lie, really!)

TO DO

• Add more rods.
• Could someone make a client mod that will look at the lore of a blaze rod and based off that change the texture?? Please? :)
• I need some more ideas! Leave a comment!
