With this plugin you can manage the join and leave events in your server (like join message and leave message). This plugin is completely configurable!

I can not guarantee you that the plugins that the plugins that set a player's spawnpoint will work with the new spawnpoint function. It is even likely that they will not. But I separated the spawnpoint into two options: first-join spawn and regular spawn. You can leave the regular spawnpoint disabled if you only want to teleport a player to a specific location when they join for the first time.
Also: In the newest version of JoinAndLeavePro there will be an option to disable the vanish permission and there will be support for VanishNoPacket.

"Easiest would be checking the player's metadata. Get metadata "vanished", if it exists then check its asBoolean value. true for vanished false for not. If it doesn't exist VNP isn't on the server.

I would do that, if the vanish plugins had a (good) API. Since they don't, I can't check for vanished players easily.

Posted Jun 19, 2014thank you for the option to hide join/leave but i was still hoping for it to check through vanish, so when we 'fakejoin' we can still get the announcement, fireworks, etc.

Version 2.1.0 uses the default bukkit method for checking if a player joined. And yes, it is possible to add a command to get the books.
NOTE: To save disk space, you can delete the "players" folder, it won't be used in the future.

True, but essentials is much heavier. If you just want some join events like messages, firework and sounds it is better to use this plugin ;)

Posted Jun 8, 2014well the plugin ran great, but.... it does NOT work with vanish which is very disappointing.
im using VanishNoPacket and when i sign in 'vanished and silently' it still fires off a firework and shows me as online. is there a way to fix this?

Try using version 2.0.4 if you are running a 1.7.2 or 1.7.4 server. Still not working? Check the config files on mistakes.

I'll consider your idea. And the UUID system doesn't affect detecting new players, but it affects other things which will be fixed in the next version.
