Inventory Drop Chance
Inventory Drop Chance
Version: v1.6
(Follow me on Twitter for updates!)
Inventory Drop Chance is a plugin created by Staartvin from a request by DerekZil.
Do you want to your server to be a little more RPG-ish? Are people frustrated by losing items on death?
Well, then Inventory Drop Chance (IDC for short) is something for you! IDC allows admins to set a percentage of retained items on death. The retain percentage is configurable. When a player dies, x% of his/her inventory will be given back. The items that are not given back are dropped on the ground. All items get chosen randomly. This is to prevent players from cheating. You can also specify a delete percentage. IDC will then remove a percentage of the inventory (Those items aren't dropped nor given back). IDC also has custom WorldGuard flags that can be used. These flags are: 'xploss-percentage', 'retain-percentage' and 'delete-percentage'. You can also setup blacklisted or whitelist items. In short, this plugin is super customisable.
Features:
- Can give players x% of their dropped items back.
- Can delete a percentage of their inventory on death.
- Very lightweight
- Extremely simple
- Drop and play
- Permissions
- Multiworld support
- Group based (Example: Give a donor rank 20% loss, but a noob group 100% loss)
- WorldGuard integration (Custom flags 'retain-percentage' and 'delete-percentage')
- Whitelist and blacklists (Some items will always be dropped, some are always kept)
- Automatic version checking
Permissions:
- - idc.group.<groupname> A player with this permission is bound to a group. All percentages are based on a group. If a player hasn't got this permission, it will lose all their xp and items. Just like vanilla Minecraft.
- -idc.keepallitems A player with this permission will retain all of his items when (s)he dies.
- -idc.keepxp A player with this permission will keep all their xp.
- -idc.noticeonupdate A player with this permission will get noticed when a new version of IDC is available.
Commands:
- None yet

A combat logger meaning that when the player logs out it spawns a NPC that can be killed with the name of the player_PVP and when this happens the player can be killed. If the player that logged out gets killed as a combat logger only 50% of the inventory will be kept. So what I 90% believe is happening is that your plugin is defaulting to 50% being kept for a player.

What do you mean by 'Loggers'?

No this doesn't work for the PVP loggers I think because it doesn't have permissions to look at for them. It works for default players doing this but not the loggers for some reason.

You can set the amount in the config. Doesn't this work?

You didn't understand what was meant by it. Why is it that by default 50% of the inventory is kept by default? Can you remove this? I have tried and it still defaults to 50% will be kept on death even if they don't have permissions for it.

Posted Feb 2, 2013Is there a chance this plugin doesn't handle over-enchanted items well? I noticed that shortly after one of my admins worked on mob arena, there were significant crashes on player deaths, if the player had something that they normally shouldn't be able to obtain. I was able to pin the crashes down to this plugin, pretty easily. Sadly, I am not exactly sure of the version. I think it was file 3 for 1.4.6, when running in 1.4.6.

The plugin doesn't work the way you think it does. If you set the retain percentage to 50, on playerdeath a player will get 50% of his old inventory back. The given items are randomly chosen from its inventory.

Posted Feb 2, 2013Could you fix the plugin so that by default there isn't a 50% chance to keep inventory. I have pvploggers and they only drop half and can't seem to fix this.

Hi, I'll be adding this to my todo list. Also, I'll create a sort language system. Thanks for the suggestion!

Posted Jan 27, 2013Hello seems like a really nice plugin, would it be possible for you to add so when a player dies in a specific region they won't drop their items but won't get them back either thats what i'm looking for but I haven't been able to find it anywhere this is very close to what I need I just don't want them to get their items back either. If you could do that and make it work with worldguard regions that'd be great!
Also thinking about adding language files? So people can customize the messages?
Thanks in advance!

Sorry I should've said that better, I was asking whether or not I need the custom flags plugin to use the worldguard flags. But you answered my question anyway, thanks. :)

If you want to use the worldguard flags, you need to have the worldguard custom flags plugin. If you don't want to use the worldguard flags, you do not need the worldguard and custom worldguard flag plugins.

Posted Jan 22, 2013This seems like a very useful plugin, the WorldGuard flags top it off! Will definitely try it out, thank you for making this. :)
Just one question, is it necessary to have the WorldGuard Custom Flags plugin? Because it doesn't talk about it anywhere in the description, although you have it as an optional dependency.

Posted Jan 20, 2013I'm gonna play with this on my server. I have a buy-perms kind of setup, and this has been requested heavily. I'm really psyched you're developing this.
