Infected
Features:
This plugin allows you to customize the mobs on your server and in your worlds like YOU want! You can add tons of things to their attacks and soon you'll can do even more. At the moment you have a decent choise of effects, which you can give to the mobs you want. You can also add multiple effects to a single mob if you want and you can also choose how often the effect should occure, be enabled and in which world. It is also possible to set a message when you got 'infected' and 'cured'. This plugin is lightweight, highly-configurable and up²date.

|---|---|
| nausea | Visual effect (a bit like the portal ones) |
| hunger | The player is hungry (decrease food-bar) |
| slow | The player is slower (wow!) |
| blind | The player can only see a few blocks far |
| poison | The player becomes poisoned |
| burn | The player burns! |
| lifesteal | Giving the enemy health back |
| critical hit | Dealing an amount of damage YOU want. |
| damage | Deal additional damage |
| reflect | Reflecting the damage to the player |
Planned features
- Use commands to change effects ingame without reloading
- Add velocity/speed of a mob
Permissions

Installation
If you want to use a newer version than yours, please check the config-page for changes first! Place the Infected.jar in plugins folder. Now customize and configure the plugin! You can find a instruction how to edit the config.yml here! Please dont forget that :P

Posted Mar 11, 2012Yeah i thought about the visual effect as well, completely up to you on the cure message. Beyond that thanks again for the replies and consideration. I always love it when plugin developers reply and interact with users.

The cure-message is possible, but you can see if the effects ends (visualized etc.)
Of course when new things come out like the bukkit api I'll update this and try to get the maximum out of that :)

Posted Mar 11, 2012You are awesome, thanks so much. It should be an easy thing to implement too since you already fire the event on chance. Adding text shouldn't be too awful hard. Also I'm not 100% sure but maybe a infection message AND a cured message? Another example:
So upon poison it would notify you... and 10 seconds later when it wears off it will notify you that it lost it's effectiveness. With the Bukkit API coming out it would be nice to add status icons somewhere on the GUI but that is way later down the road 6+ months from now.
The only other suggestions i can think of is maybe research some new status effects for yourself. Final Fantasy would be a good reference, as well as other RPG/MMO style games have tons of status effects.
I know there is limitations to what you can achieve but you've already pulled off some amazing and original ideas.

Posted Mar 11, 2012This is the most amazing thing ever, how did i miss this. I do have a feature request though~ Can you make optional and customizable notifications for when you actually get an infection?
Example
With the &c being color text support. Going to tinker with this more today but I'm already in love with this plugins X_X.

@LordKainzo I check if the entity which damaged you is a zombie or spider etc and then randomize the effects with the percent double.
