Houses
Houses is a house system for servers who want to allow their players to buy,sell and rent houses. Buying, selling and renting houses is easily done by clicking custom signs. A player who owns or rented a house will be able to open the house door, while others can not. Signs are automatically linked with iron doors. Houses have class and number.
The house class is how good they are, for example class 1 would be the best house available and class 4 a decent house.
The house number is like an apartment number. A class might have many similar or even copies of houses working as apartments. A skyscraper could be one class containing many numbers.
Admins can add and remove house owner from the database manually to have complete control of who own which house. Admins and/or other players with permission are the ones putting up the signs next to the house (iron) doors.

Don't delete The homeless rank. It will make The config invalid and a new one will be generated. Instead, set "use-class-ranks" to false.
You can use pastebin.com to show me yoyr config

I failed to mention in my original post that I can buy and sell houses just fine, just I can't rent them. Houses is green in /plugins.

If it does not even turn red at the top, please check if Houses is enabled and that it doesn't give any errors. Do /plugins and make sure it's there and in green.
If it does turn red, watch my tutorial on the rental system just above here and make sure you're doing it right. You need an info sign or a buy/sell sign BEFORE making a rent sign. The rent signs do not have class and number, but days and hours instead and then the price.

Posted Jan 3, 2014I'm hoping someone can help me. The rent sign doesn't seem to work with my server running Bukkit #2978 and Houses 1.6.4.1. I type the sign as follows, parentheses are for clarification only, I don't actually type those. Nothing happens when I set it up this way, it just makes a sign with that text. Can you help please? I have Vault, EssentialsEco, and PermissionsBukkit.

I did make a fix for it i thought, since i limited the safe teleportation to a height of 254. No one has had this problem before so please let me go to your server so i can see. You probably need to move the house or sign, or build a roof. I'll PM you when i can get on

Okay so it seems like you got the exact same error as some other guy a while ago. I made a fix for it in 1.6.4.1. Are you sure you are using version 1.6.4.1 of Houses?

1. Nowhere, 2. Nobody receives the money, 3. The sign should stay there. If someone does buy the house, others can not buy it even though the sign is still there, 4. The combination of class and number must be unique on each house no matter which village/world/region etc or else all those houses with the same class and number can be accessed by the owner of that class and number. You will get a warning if you make duplicate signs.

Posted Dec 28, 2013Alright so me Owner and Admin of my server, I want people who created their villages sell their homes. I have a few questions. 1. Where does the money go too? My Bukkit Balance? 2. Can I put a house for sale for someone else and have them receive the money instead of me? 3. After one puts the sign and buys/confirms. the sign does not go away and it looks as if someone else can also buy it. Is it supposed to be like that to then the Admin break the sign down? 4. Does it make any difference if lets say I have 2 villages. 3 houses each. in 1 village I put sign class and number "1" but in village 2 I put sign class and number "1" because its a different village therefore its a different number. or does it then have to be, 1, 2, and 3 in village 1, then 4, 5, and 6 in village 2 ?

Posted Dec 23, 2013Okay, thank you for getting back to me, I have an idea for the protection. Now the next thing that isn't working for me is the Rent sign. I place the House Info sign and the rent sign, I rent the house, it takes my money, but it doesn't let me enter the house. What should I do?

This plugin has nothing to do with area protection. Please use another plugin for that such as Worldguard. It was originally design for my server where every house is built by the staff and all are protected with worldguard. This allows the players to have access to those houses. Area protection for each house would never work for me and not for many others since (awesome) houses are often not rectangular and are stacked upon each other like apartments.
