HideNames

What it does
Basically, all it does is hide players names from above their heads. This could be useful for PvP servers, RP servers, etc.
Usage
- Install and restart.
Permissions
- hidenames.reload
- hidenames.bypass
- hidenames.showname
Requirements
- Spout
- (Optional) Spoutcraft for clients to see player skins.
Features
- Permissions support
- NPC support
- Multi-world support
Note: I do not plan much more development on this, however this may change depending on how many people begin to use this plugin.

I had tried it, it throws an error because of the new bukkit event system, I posted that comment on all plugins that weren't updated for it after doing my tests :)

A way to do this with the current version is giving everyone the hidenames.showname permission node.

Posted Jan 29, 2012I'm having trouble getting this plugin to work. I'm running Craftbukkit 1.1-R1 and Spout 721. When I start up the server it tells me there's been a severe error trying to load HideNames. Other than that this plugin seems awesome, it's just what my server needs. I've been looking for something like this for a while actually.
EDIT: I was running JRE6, and after installing JRE7 HideNames works. I'm also running the Citizens plugin on my server, which adds NPCs, who also have nameplates. But their nameplates still show up. Is it possible to make their nameplates invisible as well?

Posted Jan 29, 2012Would love if there was a per world name toggle and or the possibility of permissions support to bypass the names.
Love the plugin!

Posted Jan 25, 2012@shadowjay1 Hm, is this compatible with Spout 721? It could have to do with it loading right before Spout does.

Posted Jan 24, 2012I'll work on allowing this to work without Spoutcraft, the only downside to this is that players without Spoutcraft won't see any player skins.

I second that notion. I could force players to download spoutcraft, but I dont want to just for one plugin. I know there are limitations to bukkit, and if this is one of them, oh well.
