Healing Bows

Healing Bows

“Does exactly what it sounds like it does.”
With Healing Bows you can choose a certain first lore line, custom name, or both that will define a special bow. Arrows fired from this sort of bow will heal anything they hit. This includes the enemy, so don't miss. By default, the plugin looks for bows with a certain lore string. If the bow matches the configured meta information, arrows fired from it will heal their target. By default, the target is healed by the number of hearts of damage that would normally be caused by a hit. This is called scale-type healing. Flat-type healing can also be used - with flat healing, a constant number of hearts is returned to the target no matter the bow's enchantment or the hit force. Great for Role-Playing servers in which healers shouldn't be limited to just potions. Is likely to work with any plugin that supports lore, and will work with almost any other plugin so long as it supports display names (although use of custom names is warned against - anvils break the display names of the bows).
Notably, it doesn't actually give you any way to GET the bows except an administrative command, yet. Currently, the plugin assumes another system is in place which will allow the player to get the needed item (Like a custom mob drop plugin).

Works well with kit plugins capable of attaching lore, like KitMaster.

Commands and Permissions

The commands are few and limited to administrative stuff: The main command is /hbow or /hb and subcommands control the plugin. Just to be clear, that means they are used as such: /hbow <command>
CommandAliasPermissionFunction
reloadrhealingbows.reloadAdministrative command to reload configuration from disk.
forcefhealingbows.forceAdministrative command to turn held bow into a healing bow.
showshealingbows.showDebug command to show contents of arrow ID array.

(Notice that all of the current commands are not expressly designed for players. Give 'em to Average Joe at your own risk.)

Available on request, for now. Send me a private message.

Where do I get it?

Use the Files Page to get the latest version. There is a link at the top as well!
Tentative To-Do list
- Lacquer-and-Binding-Agent crafting system
- Permission to use the bows themselves
- Configurable refusal of the bows to work with anvils
- Java 6 compatibility (Iffy, Oracle has ceased to update Java 6)
- More configurable stuff
“MEDIC!”
