Grief Prevention
AUTOMATICALLY PREVENTS ALL FORMS OF GRIEF, including build/break, theft, spam, fire, spawn camping, lava dumping, chat trolling, advertising and more, so you don't have to undo any damage after the fact. It even teaches players how to use it so you don't have to! No configuration or database required. Stop responding to grief and prevent it instead. Grief Prevention will solve your grief problems without requiring you to manage a roster of trained administrators, juggle 10 different anti-grief plugins, take away cool standard game features, publish a training manual / tutorial for players, or add explanatory signs to your world. You can also choose to integrate PvP elements into build design to finally get a PvP experience befitting a sandbox game about creative building.
Grief Prevention stops grief before it starts automatically without any effort from administrators, and with very little (self service) effort from players. Solve all your grief problems with a single download, no database, and no configuration step.

Please Vote for Grief Prevention
I've also posted Grief Prevention on the Spigot site, where plugins are ranked based on reviews. If you love GP, please take a couple of minutes to give GP your rating and leave a short review. Better rating and positive reviews will help server owners who look for plugins on the Spigot site make the safe choice (GP) instead of downloading something sketchy or incomplete. :) Thanks so much for all your support!

@Shayd713
I tried very hard to reproduce these issues with latest 1.8.3 spigot and latest GP, and couldn't. I suspect your 1.8.3 version is an old 1.8.3 version - try updating by re-running buildtools.jar. If that doesn't help, then please share with me the following:
@OddWhirled
I wish I could tell people exactly what build they need, but the builds aren't numbered. They just all have some crazy GUID, so it's unclear which builds are newer versus older (boo Spigot team!).
I do know about the fall damage thing. Cancelling the "player changed a block by stepping on it" event also cancels the damage. I logged a spigot bug but they haven't fixed it.
@Duffa13
Yep it's now griefprevention.claimslistother, I think. Check the docs.

Make sure to run BuildTools #35 to get the VERY latest version of Spigot 1.8.3. If you type /version in the game and it does not say "You are running the latest version" then it may not work.

Ok, I guess even though I was using 1.8.3 I was still 33 versions behind. I ran BuildTools again and now I am using the latest version, so now everything appears to be working alright. I cannot break other players' item frames, and explosions and horses are working correctly. Sorry for the trouble. :P
You could possibly make sure that people know which specific build of 1.8.3 they need though. ;)
Thanks, and again, sorry. xD
PS - You probably already know this, but players take no fall damage when falling onto tilled soil. I know it's because you have to cancel the event to prevent the crops from breaking, but if there is a way to fix it it would be nice. If it adds any server strain or is too inconvenient for how tiny of a problem it is then I will not care at all. It's really the smallest problem, and doesn't even effect gameplay.

BlockIdsRequiringAccessTrust just lets you add more blocks to a list. Any blocks on that list are considered containers, and players need "access trust" to click on them when they are inside another player's land claim. That is not your problem.
I would think that GriefPrevention has automatically identified your world as a Creative world probably because the default gamemode is creative. This would make it so that you need to claim land before building at all.Go to GriefPreventionData/config.yml and edit that file. Find
Claims:
Mode:
world: Creative
and change it to Survival. That should work.

Posted Apr 14, 2015Hi! I like this plugin, guess i played on servers with it, but now i'm setting my own. I do have a problem with it. When you have installed it everything seems to be ok except for 1 thing! The owner of the server can edit/dig blocks but not the co/owner/admin or guest without claiming the area. i'wwe trying several things but cant figure out what to do so you can dig without claiming the area, wich i see several problems with. I'm kind a newbe at java & setting up a server but i have found 1 row that looks intressting. "BlockIdsRequiringAccessTrust:"
I'we tried to put booth false & true avter it, but it just changes back to " [ ] "
I also got permissionEX installed if it would help me, i just want to have so you can dig without claiming.

Left-Click, also I can trample crops in land claims and I creepers can break my paintings even in land claims, and apparently even TNT breaks stuff in my claims. Basically a lot is broken. And yes, I am using Spigot build 1.8.3. :O

How are you breaking them out of the frames? Left click? Firing an arrow or other projectile? TNT Explosion? Creeper explosion?
@gamermomoe
Please check your logs between when you create the land claim and when you're finished rebooting to see if there are any error messages which might give me a hint about what's happening in your case.
@GodsDead
Please show me /claimslist output for a player who's seeing weird numbers (and which weird numbers he's seeing).
If I add a per-victim cooldown, then players who are friends will pretend to /siege each other just to get the cooldown going. It sucks to have lots of players bully you as a group, but it's no worse than default pvp - if 10 people decide to attack you at once (or in turn), then you suffer.
I'll look into the resizing issue. You're in database mode, right?
@CrypticCabub
Survival requiring claims. I'll fix the page.
@The_PC_Tech_Guy
You need to fix your sea level setting in the GP config. After you get your sea level setting updated, use /rna to zap the existing floating islands (point at the bottom with a golden shovel and right click). I have a plan in mind to make this happen less when the sea level isn't set right.
@xristieno
Make sure you got a grief prevention version that's made for 1.7.10, and check your logs. If you don't see the issue, then use pastebin to share your entire boot log with me here in the comments.
@Drtro
There's more info about how creative world rules work on the setup/config page.
WG is an administrative plugin that assumes everyone using it has permission for everything everywhere. Sorry, there's nothing I can do because it doesn't like to play by the rules.
@MLGeorge99712
No, all Minecraft Realms are vanilla servers. You need CraftBukkit or Spigot server to run plugins.
@keytastic
Nope, you should be able to spawn them with GP installed.

No; Minecraft Realms uses the vanilla Minecraft server, so it's not compatible with Bukkit plugins.

Was able to check a bit further - Turning off "ProtectCreatures" DOES fix the Horse issue .. but of course, causes the creature issue ... "ProtectHorses" does not seem to do anything at all - it's all controlled by "ProtectCreatures" That is, turning "ProtectHorses" On and leaving creatures OFF doesn't protect horses (any type/variant).

Posted Apr 12, 2015I can't seem to pin it down, but on my creative flatworld server, where I have GriefPrevention claims enabled, I get these random "islands" created in or around griefprevention claims. I can't seem to pin down when it occurs, but it appears to be related to GriefPrevention as it only happens around claims... it just spawns this layer of grass at y=63 and a stone layer below it... http://i.imgur.com/MLK8wZK.png (missing spots on the ground are just chunks my client hasn't loaded yet). It appears to clear everything all the way to y=49: http://i.imgur.com/9hT190w.png (this thing is in between two claims, before my admins figured out to stop using /ignoreclaims)
This only appears above unclaimed lands, but it seems to happen only long after something's been unclaimed. I'm thinking it might have something to do with claim abandonment improperly restoring...
(I thought claims weren't restored by default, until I read the docs and saw that this is the case for creative worlds...)

Posted Apr 11, 2015There's a discrepancy between the config page and the update page.
Update 10.8 says that you added the SurvivalRequiringClaims, but the config page lists it as CreativeRequiringClaims. Which is it?
/acb [permission node] works too. thanks a bunch! Will see if I can get this setup on a console scheduler :).
Thanks for the great plugin. God bless. -Cryptic
