Grief Prevention
AUTOMATICALLY PREVENTS ALL FORMS OF GRIEF, including build/break, theft, spam, fire, spawn camping, lava dumping, chat trolling, advertising and more, so you don't have to undo any damage after the fact. It even teaches players how to use it so you don't have to! No configuration or database required. Stop responding to grief and prevent it instead. Grief Prevention will solve your grief problems without requiring you to manage a roster of trained administrators, juggle 10 different anti-grief plugins, take away cool standard game features, publish a training manual / tutorial for players, or add explanatory signs to your world. You can also choose to integrate PvP elements into build design to finally get a PvP experience befitting a sandbox game about creative building.
Grief Prevention stops grief before it starts automatically without any effort from administrators, and with very little (self service) effort from players. Solve all your grief problems with a single download, no database, and no configuration step.

Please Vote for Grief Prevention
I've also posted Grief Prevention on the Spigot site, where plugins are ranked based on reviews. If you love GP, please take a couple of minutes to give GP your rating and leave a short review. Better rating and positive reviews will help server owners who look for plugins on the Spigot site make the safe choice (GP) instead of downloading something sketchy or incomplete. :) Thanks so much for all your support!

Posted May 7, 2012Great plugin. Very important in my server.
Is or can it be possible to optionally allow items to be dropped during pvp?
Also, is it or can it be possible to control how many seconds after the last hit you are considered to be in pvp?
Finally, is it or can it be possible to set an expiration of claims if a player doesn't log in for a certain number of days?

Set the config option for requiring permission to claim to true, then disable the automatic chest claims by setting that radius to -1.
@mrcheesete0
Oh, now I get it. No, there's no code in to prevent that. Anyway you should always claim more than just your build. Otherwise, somebody will build something ugly like a giant dirt wall right up against it (or grow a tree into your wall). If you claim just a bit of your yard, you won't have in-your-face neighbors, and you won't have to worry about the tree thing.
However I will look into this a bit. Maybe I can do something to help.
@DrFusion
Get a better help plugin that allows you to ask for help for a specific plugin, like /help griefprevention. I know there are a few, I just can't remember any of the names. I don't run any help at all on my server, so I can't recommend a specific one. :)
@monkeybee11
Yep, what DrFusion said - just use /IgnoreClaims.

Posted Aug 20, 2012Compat with everything except for other plugins which allow players to make land claims. This should make sense if you think about it - if you give playres two ways to make land claims, then one player will use method A, then another player will use method B to claim the same space, and now you have a problem.
It's okay to use this with other land claim plugins as long as you have the other plugin restricted to only admins. For example, you could give GriefPrevention to your players so they can self-serve land claiming, and also use WorldGuard for only administrators.

Posted May 6, 2012Bigscary, what I think DrFusion meant, is when you have a claim with subdivided claims, and Bob plants a tree on the edge of Bob's Subdivision, it overlaps into Jane's Subdivision, or un-subdivided land inside the over-all claim.

Don't know what magic carpet is. Yes, I'll put in a link in the description above. Some other documentation also needs updating.
@DrFusion
No, see FAQ. Consider getting a help plugin instead, so all your plugins will benefit, and I won't have to brew up my own help system.
@HoracioA
I'll probably eventually get in the localizability so you can change all the messages. It's just a really big job and I've been putting it off.
Real estate management is not part of preventing grief. Find the "grief prevention real estate" plugin and submit your request there.
No, of course standard users can't delete others' claims. That would be an enormous grief problem.
@shutka
Video link option will come with localizability. Get off my back on the source updates, I'll get around to it. Geez, I just released like this morning.
@DrFusion
No, there's no control outside of claims except to limit lava placement. That's on purpose, so players get to keep the "vanilla" gameplay experience in the wilderness. Maybe you know someone who would like to code an extension plugin for controlling the wilderness? It would be very handy for creative worlds.
