Grief Prevention
AUTOMATICALLY PREVENTS ALL FORMS OF GRIEF, including build/break, theft, spam, fire, spawn camping, lava dumping, chat trolling, advertising and more, so you don't have to undo any damage after the fact. It even teaches players how to use it so you don't have to! No configuration or database required. Stop responding to grief and prevent it instead. Grief Prevention will solve your grief problems without requiring you to manage a roster of trained administrators, juggle 10 different anti-grief plugins, take away cool standard game features, publish a training manual / tutorial for players, or add explanatory signs to your world. You can also choose to integrate PvP elements into build design to finally get a PvP experience befitting a sandbox game about creative building.
Grief Prevention stops grief before it starts automatically without any effort from administrators, and with very little (self service) effort from players. Solve all your grief problems with a single download, no database, and no configuration step.

Please Vote for Grief Prevention
I've also posted Grief Prevention on the Spigot site, where plugins are ranked based on reviews. If you love GP, please take a couple of minutes to give GP your rating and leave a short review. Better rating and positive reviews will help server owners who look for plugins on the Spigot site make the safe choice (GP) instead of downloading something sketchy or incomplete. :) Thanks so much for all your support!

Regarding showing many land claims at once .. isn't it possible you could lend some ideas from plugins like WorldEdit/VoxelSniper/LogBlock/Prism? They seems to handle many block changes (thousands) without impacting the server in any noticeable way. I don't know the specifics but it was just a thought :-)
Prism is rather new but it's super fast compared to the previous rollback plugins I've used .. its preview feature is also very neat :-)

He already said he won't add that, which I think is a shame. It's the only thing which really limits this plugin in my opinion. PvP arenas are a central feature for many servers and the only way to do it with GP is currently to use another plugin (in which case the performance gain from GP is sorta diminished), or move it to another world which is also a shame in more than one way.
For instance I'd like to have landmarks that are protected from griefing and has PvP enabled.
The best way this would be implemented would be as a flag but I could see a third area type as a working solution.
Anyway, I still like GriefPrevention a lot but I dream about this feature (which I think is the most requested by far) :-)

I'm guessing this will become a flag users can toggle in time?
That would be handy for pvp arenas in creative worlds..

Posted Jan 31, 2013Also, are you able to add BukkitForge support? It's supposed to be an API bridge between bukkit and forge as far as I know. It would allow others on forge to use the plugin but just interfacing with the bukkit API I think.

Positive and confirmed that the plugin just doesn't connect properly. Not asking you to delete the data, but just print an error in the console and don't use the data or something. I thought it just wouldn't load it too, but apparently that's the bug in 7.4 and I don't see any DB changes in github for 7.5. It's just the standard error string that you get when you can't connect to a database. I can post it for you but I think you only have one string like that.

@ridddle
Thanks for explaining! I'll keep trying to come up with a way to do this. Maybe if I create a new slash command which is only available for admins, then the performance hit won't be an issue (assuming admins don't spam it).

Posted Jan 31, 2013Well, let me be more specific – I often want to show claims belonging to 1 player. Some players save a lot of blocks and only protect parts of their large builds… so there might be as much as 10 claims in relative vicinity, separated by 10-20 blocks. It’s not easy to see where they all are. And why would I want to do that… well, we’re playing on a superflat map and sometimes there is a need to move player’s base 100 blocks in one direction, when they build too close to each other. So I usually do that with WorldEdit and then I need to redefine those claims… preview the border, delete, make an admin claim in the new place, transfer claim. Lighting up all player claims would just allow me to see them better, rather than flying over a flat map, trying to guess where they all are.

Yes, but it's a bad idea for you to do that. New players will be griefed frequently as a result. See the setup/config page if you want to do it anyway.
@Tsugaga
You might be thinking of Precious Stones, which visualizes using a wall of glass. GP doesn't do that, it just draws a glowing rectangle on the ground. Building really tall corner markers only helps in a few situations (like dense jungles or HUGE claims), and it's much more expensive server side, so I decided not to do that.
@MC_Redcraft_1010
Please don't post here again - you're clearly not capable of communicating without generating drama. Also, of course I don't believe you. That's ludicrous, and you'd know that if you were the expert you claim to be.
@Dyrri
Yep, when you build or break blocks under your land claim, it instantly extends downward to protect the new area.
@krisdestruction
It's too risky for me to delete data just because world went missing. Maybe there's an intent to restore a backup of the world, for example. If you wipe out a world, you'll have to delete the claims yourself. Are you sure the plugin doesn't function? I thought it just doesn't load the claims in non-existent worlds. Please confirm? Also if you have the specific error message you're seeing in your logs, please paste it. In case I do need to make a change, that will help me find the right code path to investigate.
@gathlin
You're welcome. :)
@ridddle
Sorry no, it's often requested but I haven't come up with any plan that will show you all of them (without missing any) and also not lag the server horribly. :\ Why is it that you find yourself often hunting for land claims? What do you do frequently on your server that requires you to do that?

Posted Jan 31, 2013Is there any way to preview claims in your immediate vicinity? I mean, when you’re a mod/admin. I’m very tired of hunting for claim borders with arrow tool, especially when there’s 10 near each other.

Posted Jan 31, 2013Hi. This is a great plugin, but I have run into an problem. Height.
I'm not very good at explaining it, but I have included a picture so you'll get the idea. :)
Everything below the red line can be griefed. Is this done so that players can mine resources underneath their buildings or is this a bug? Can I change it?
EDIT: It mysteriously started to work. Great plugin!

Posted Jan 31, 2013Is there a command that makes glass columns go from the surface to the sky at each corner of claims? I am pretty sure I was told about it before and it had worked, but I have no idea what it was. Talking about the version for cb 1.2.5 since I have a Tekkit server.

There's a config option to not warn players when they build outside land claims. You could just turn that off.
@Darkhand81
Thanks for that tip, I will look into that.
What you're asking for is already done. ALL claims have pvp disabled when you have that config option on, including admin claims.

I figured out what the problem was. Every time I do a reload, the messages.yml file would be appended with the missing message at the end of the file. If the Text body was missing, the reload would fill in the missing text with the original. The workaround I made is replacing the Text body with '' but instead of the message, there would be a blank message that appeared on the screen in game. May be slightly confusing to users, but still much less annoying as the message was for BuildingOutsideClaims - which a lot of my users do.
