Grief Prevention
AUTOMATICALLY PREVENTS ALL FORMS OF GRIEF, including build/break, theft, spam, fire, spawn camping, lava dumping, chat trolling, advertising and more, so you don't have to undo any damage after the fact. It even teaches players how to use it so you don't have to! No configuration or database required. Stop responding to grief and prevent it instead. Grief Prevention will solve your grief problems without requiring you to manage a roster of trained administrators, juggle 10 different anti-grief plugins, take away cool standard game features, publish a training manual / tutorial for players, or add explanatory signs to your world. You can also choose to integrate PvP elements into build design to finally get a PvP experience befitting a sandbox game about creative building.
Grief Prevention stops grief before it starts automatically without any effort from administrators, and with very little (self service) effort from players. Solve all your grief problems with a single download, no database, and no configuration step.

Please Vote for Grief Prevention
I've also posted Grief Prevention on the Spigot site, where plugins are ranked based on reviews. If you love GP, please take a couple of minutes to give GP your rating and leave a short review. Better rating and positive reviews will help server owners who look for plugins on the Spigot site make the safe choice (GP) instead of downloading something sketchy or incomplete. :) Thanks so much for all your support!

Posted Nov 25, 2015Update 13.1 is here! :)
@Disorbs
What do you mean it isn't working? Try it on yourself to be sure. If it's still not, what version of GP are you on?
@unclemark
The minechat issue was already fixed. If a player has played on your server before, he won't have a problem mine chatting. If all he's ever done is chat, then yes there is a problem but I don't see a fix for that rare case short of disabling the anti-bot feature altogether, which is not a good trade-off. If you do as PCtech suggests and disable this feature, beware the bots.
@unclemark
You can use /acb to give players claim blocks. Maybe you can somehow integrate that with your shop signs? Not sure how, steps would depend on your specific shops plugin.
@BlockBert
The survival requiring claims mode (see setup/config) prevents players from changing the world unless they first place a land claim. It requires some thinking though to work well, so you'll have to think over the design of your server if you decide to turn on that mode.
As for enter/exit messages, those aren't in the base plugin because they're not anti-grief, but you can add them with GriefPrevention Flags.
@MisterMewbacca
Change your claims mode (see config file) for that world to survival. However if your players in that world are in creative mode, you will have serious griefing problems so consider carefully. There's more info/advice on this in the setup/config page.
@missemilia06
That's in the command/permissions reference page linked above.

This would require registering a listener for the onPlayerMovement (or whatever it's named) event, which is something I wouldn't want to see in here mainly for performance reasons. However, this is possible to do in an add-on. PM me if you'd be interested in such a thing (I don't subscribe to comments here).
@unclemark
If they haven't even played on your server yet (get wood achievement), then yes, they will be prevented from chatting. If you really want players to use Minechat without playing on your server, use spigot.yml to force the achievement on them (I've tested this before and yes it works).

What version of GriefPrevention are you running? Also make sure you have the correct Survival/Creative mode defined in the GP config.

Posted Nov 21, 2015The admin of our server is able to query with a stick that person who currently claims that spot and it also tells him that particular persons last login as well. I couldn't find a permission in the list to allow others to do this as well. We want to be able to view that persons last login as well.
Thanks!

Posted Nov 20, 2015I can't break or build anything outside my plot. Every time i try i receive the message "You can't build here unless you claim some land first. To override use use /ignore claims. click for land claim help: bit.ly/mcgpcrea". I've tried looking in the config files and i can't find a way to fix it . I want everyones plots to be protected and every other area to unprotected where people can build and break blocks outside of.

Posted Nov 20, 2015Hey, I previously used MyChunk, but as it became abandoned, I am looking for a new plugin. I really liked the easy-to-use features such as notifications when you entered someone's chunks or the ability to resell claimed land. And the most important feature I used was to protect all unclaimed land. So no one could grief in the wilderness without buying the land. Could you add some of those features? Just for suggestion: You could make them as optionally so everyone can decide whether he needs this feature or not. That would be great! :-)

Posted Nov 15, 2015LOL _ this plugin has no /gp reload command in game... and anyone using minechat will quit your server because they are muted because they're not moving !!! ie.: GriefPrevention: Muted pre-movement chat.
Add a reload for heavens sake and an option to turn off that pre-movement bug.

Posted Nov 12, 2015A very long time I have not used this plugin. The old days ... Once you could set up different configurations for each map (files "<name_map>.yml" in folder "GriefPrevention\WorldConfigs\").
Currently I use version 13.0 and I need diffrent set up for each map (world). Example I want diffrent value "MaximumNumberOfClaimsPerPlayer" for map 'world' (value 5) and for map 'world_nether' (value 1).
How to do it in version 13.0?

You're running a very old version of Craftbukkit/Spigot, at least 6 months old. From the GP documentation:
DO NOT Update GriefPrevention to 11.3 or later until you've updated your server to the LATEST 1.8 (this will require re-running buildtools.jar to get an updated 1.8 server jar file). This is unavoidable, and due to a change made by the Spigot/CraftBukkit team somewhere along the way in 1.8 development. Symptoms of an outdated 1.8 server include errors logged during boot, explosions destroying blocks where they shouldn't, and entities like armor stands, item frames, and animals NOT being protected.

Posted Nov 8, 2015@U1T1MATE If the cobweb arrow plugin does not tell Bukkit/Spigot that it placed a block (fire a BlockPlaceEvent), there is no way for a protection plugin (like Grief Prevention) to prevent this. Therefore, the arrow plugin has to implement the BlockPlaceEvent. You can forward this message to the developer or I can contact him, if you tell me the plugin name.

Posted Nov 8, 2015Can you add some sort of feature to disable block changes as a whole in someone's claim? I have a mod that adds "cobweb arrows", which as you can probably guess, creates a cobweb wherever the arrow lands. I was messing around with the plugin on my server, then realized that some of the cobwebs I was shooting were landing in people claims. Is there a way to fix that? Thanks!
