Grief Prevention
AUTOMATICALLY PREVENTS ALL FORMS OF GRIEF, including build/break, theft, spam, fire, spawn camping, lava dumping, chat trolling, advertising and more, so you don't have to undo any damage after the fact. It even teaches players how to use it so you don't have to! No configuration or database required. Stop responding to grief and prevent it instead. Grief Prevention will solve your grief problems without requiring you to manage a roster of trained administrators, juggle 10 different anti-grief plugins, take away cool standard game features, publish a training manual / tutorial for players, or add explanatory signs to your world. You can also choose to integrate PvP elements into build design to finally get a PvP experience befitting a sandbox game about creative building.
Grief Prevention stops grief before it starts automatically without any effort from administrators, and with very little (self service) effort from players. Solve all your grief problems with a single download, no database, and no configuration step.

Please Vote for Grief Prevention
I've also posted Grief Prevention on the Spigot site, where plugins are ranked based on reviews. If you love GP, please take a couple of minutes to give GP your rating and leave a short review. Better rating and positive reviews will help server owners who look for plugins on the Spigot site make the safe choice (GP) instead of downloading something sketchy or incomplete. :) Thanks so much for all your support!

Neat idea about the cacti. I guess the point of this plugin is not to make roller coasters but if you have to give people /containertrust to let them ride a cart they can also take it. That's what I meant by too bad it was not separated to choose to allow public ride so people can ride even if they can not place or take the carts. However I found my solution using Autocarts plugin. Leave access and /containertrust off for everyone in your admin claim and people can just magic spawn a cart with a right click on a rail and it disappears when they jump out with a shift.

Posted Jul 27, 2015Is there any way to change the grief protection block from a chest to something else? I'm sorry if this was in the manual and I overlooked it, but I hope there is a way.

Mobs do spawn in protected areas. Except for "creative mode" worlds (see GP config), GP does nothing with spawns.
@Bobcat00
Alright, I'll reduce the delay.
@Coolbannana44
You have to be running an up to date version of 1.8. Please see the giant block of bold text in the changelogs, which you neglected to read when it was last on your screen. Then update your server by re-running buildtools.jar.
@snablesnot
Placing a cart requires access trust (/accesstrust). Removing a cart might be theft (we don't know who it belongs to), so it's /containertrust. You can automatically make carts reclaimable by for example running them into a cactus, which turns them back into an item.

Posted Jul 26, 2015I super love this plugin and it is nearly perfection. But I have stumbled onto a problem.... On admin claim with no access for all or any player you can place a cart on a rail but can not take it off. I am not sure if this is the same on player land claims. It would be great if placing and retrieving carts could be blocked or allowed separately from allowing or not allowing people to ride existing carts.

Posted Jul 25, 2015I know that GriefPreventionEx isn't working with version 1.8 but I was curious about something. I know that GPE used the codes like, "/gpemobspawn and /gpemobdamage" to prevent monsters from attacking and spawning in a claim. Is there anything out there that will work with your plugin to stop mobs from spawning in a GP claim?

Posted Jul 25, 2015Yes, it would be nice for admins to get the book and give it to others.
EDIT: This happened on my server today - A new player joined and 16 seconds later started playing Mob Arena. So I'm guessing the GriefPrevention book was given to him while he was in the arena, and lost when he finished playing Mob Arena. A similar problem could occur if they go to my creative world (where GP is disabled). So you might want to re-think that 30 second delay.

Posted Jul 23, 2015@bigscary I understand that I can remove all the claims of banned players, however what I wish to do is just make sure there are no trusts on the claims and let the claims stand until I can find the time to take care of ill gotten gain or nuke the claims.
It would be nice to be able to just remove all trusts from all a players claims to give me time.

Posted Jul 23, 2015Update 11.9 is here! GriefPrevention recently slipped to #2 on the Spigot site. Please help out by leaving a 5-star review. :) Thanks!
@Jikoo_K
Sure thing on the ignored players. :) Those muted people deserve each other, but I'll look into it anyway.
@bratpitt
Glad you figured it out!

All i have to do is spawn a lot of zombies in village at night with villagers, and after a while someone breaks door. Well i will test it on local server to isolate if its the plugin or something else am missing.
EDIT: Solved, somehow i have mixed up spigot version when updated and by misstake used 1.8 on server. Looks like it works as it should in 1.8.7

Posted Jul 22, 2015Please make PlayerData.ignoredPlayers a public field or add an ignore API of sorts. I'd like to be able to make use of GP's ignore for myself, but it appears to be impossible without reflection currently.
Also, from reading the code, it appears that softmuted players cannot ignore any softmuted players. While this won't affect me (I'll soon be un-registering GP's AsyncPlayerChatEvent listener and manually re-adding the features I want) it does seem like a shortcoming.

I am working on a CommandHelper extension for GriefPrevention which will allow people to write MethodScript plugins for their server without having to compile anything or even restart the server. I've got a working prototype on my server with a MethodScript plugin which allow my players to teleport to their claims using /claims tp [id]. If you want to try it on your server, drop me a pm and I'll send you the extension and the MethodScript files.

That is intended. However i think you can add them in the end of your config if you don't want them to use them.
The default config allows untrusted members to use preassureplates, wooden buttons (with arrows) and open all doors (including trapdoors and fence gates) except iron doors. But its possible to adjust it.

You are aware players who aren't trusted can gain access to people's builds inside claims if there is a pressure plate in front of the door, right? I mean no they can't grief but they can get inside and pester or troll. Pressure plates are not registering.

Yes, already considering. I have lots to do first though before I have enough bandwidth to spin up another plugin project.
@Nathat23
Yep. Many of the classes in GriefPrevention.jar have public methods and fields you can use.
@wondermouse007
There's already /claimslist which does what you describe. Teleporting players to their land claims is not anti-grief, though, so I won't add it here.
@CyberDrifter
Hmm.. if you're sure the banned player won't be pardoned, just delete his land claims with /deleteallclaims player. His neighbors will loot his stuff (although this doesn't guarantee he or a friend won't get to it first on another account). You could also teleport to his land claims and /restorenature them if you wanna really wipe them out. Any solution that leaves banned player's work in place seems like a poor one, right?
@Jikoo_K
Hmm.. sure that's an easy adjustment. :)

Posted Jul 19, 2015Would it be possible to extend the duration before players are considered trapped in a nether portal and returned?
My players with higher ping or worse internet often have chunk load times that result in them not being able to travel through nether portals. They'll just go back and forth repeatedly when they try because they can't move out of the portal in time.

Posted Jul 19, 2015Admin command idea: It would be nice if admins could to an /untrust on all the claims of a player. This would help when we have a banned player that has 100 little claims from use of a alt account or friend's account to access ill gotten gains.
