Grief Prevention
AUTOMATICALLY PREVENTS ALL FORMS OF GRIEF, including build/break, theft, spam, fire, spawn camping, lava dumping, chat trolling, advertising and more, so you don't have to undo any damage after the fact. It even teaches players how to use it so you don't have to! No configuration or database required. Stop responding to grief and prevent it instead. Grief Prevention will solve your grief problems without requiring you to manage a roster of trained administrators, juggle 10 different anti-grief plugins, take away cool standard game features, publish a training manual / tutorial for players, or add explanatory signs to your world. You can also choose to integrate PvP elements into build design to finally get a PvP experience befitting a sandbox game about creative building.
Grief Prevention stops grief before it starts automatically without any effort from administrators, and with very little (self service) effort from players. Solve all your grief problems with a single download, no database, and no configuration step.

Please Vote for Grief Prevention
I've also posted Grief Prevention on the Spigot site, where plugins are ranked based on reviews. If you love GP, please take a couple of minutes to give GP your rating and leave a short review. Better rating and positive reviews will help server owners who look for plugins on the Spigot site make the safe choice (GP) instead of downloading something sketchy or incomplete. :) Thanks so much for all your support!

Don't be too worried about stability. I've always been sort of a risk-taker with dev builds (for the past two years now) and I haven't had any significant stability issues yet.
What you should be concerned about, however, is plugin compatibility. Fortunately for me, only two plugins broke (one of which was already broken because it uses NMS code and never updated to 1.7.10).

Posted Dec 12, 2014Hi all, I added my TODO list to the page above. :) Feedback is welcome.
@switorik
Yeah, I think that's the same with dogs?
@GodsDead
It only works with 1.8 Spigot or Craftbukkit. I had to use some 1.8 specific code to protect armor stands and the new door/gate types.
@LeeTheENTP
You can still accomplish the same with /give. ;)

Posted Dec 12, 2014Is 9.3 just for Spigot 1.8? Or can I use it on 1.7.10 R2? I dont plan on updating until there is a more stable release for 1.8, and am currently on a very old version of griefprevention, 7.8.

@mcly
Make sure you both update your buildtools.jar as well - they made a change which makes it easier to select the RIGHT spigot.jar or craftbukkit.jar from the build tools output.

Doesn't seem like we even share plugins so might not be that, could be spigot-specific version. I havent honestly tested it since I reported it, it might be working now. Gonna have to check when I get home =)

Posted Dec 11, 2014People can take armors out of armor stands, they simply right click the items and take it out. I was able to replicate the problem by doing the same thing in claimed lands.

No, it doesn't work backward. There's new code to protect new types of doors, which didn't exist in 1.7.*.
@switorik
Alright, I'll add it to the todo list to fix that.
@Chrustee96
You can change the stick and golden shovel, but not the chest.

For Example instead of a "Chest" claiming the initial zone can i change it to an "Enderchest"?

Regarding enderpeals putting you in combat. The reason I am bringing this up is because players use enderpearls as a building tool. It gives them an easy way to navigate to different areas of their builds and multiple players are complaining.

You probably installed the wrong spigot jar. From your buildtools.jar output, look for a folder called "spigot server" and you will find the right jar in there. It's very confusing, I wish they would fix it.
EDIT: If you're using the latest version of buildtools.jar, the file you want is "spigot-1.8.jar" or "craftbukkit-1.8.jar", and they should both be in the top-level folder, the same folder which has your buildtools.jar in it.

Posted Dec 9, 2014Hey guys, looking for feedback. This new feature is coming soon (this week), and I want to see if any of you can spot any potential design issues before I release it.
The /DeathBlow command was introduced as a means for forcing a player to drop items he's "stolen" from another player, for example by picking up items another player dropped on death. Because /deathblow requires both players and an admin to be online to fix the issue, it's not a good solution.
I'm replacing it with a preventative measure - now when players die, their drops are tagged to them, and no other player can pick them up. If another player tries to pick up the drops, both players get an explanatory message, and the message going to the owner of the drops tells him to use /UnlockDrops if he wants to allow other players to pick up his items this time. Once drops are unlocked for a player, anyone can pick them up.
If no one tries to pick up the drops other than their owner, no messages appear for anyone. If the player is dead when the instructional message arrives, it will be delayed until after respawn so that he'll be sure to see it. No player will get an instructional message about /UnlockDrops more than once per death.
This feature is on by default in non-PvP worlds, and off by default in PvP worlds (pvp worlds are listed in the config file).
Any thoughts?
