Grief Prevention
AUTOMATICALLY PREVENTS ALL FORMS OF GRIEF, including build/break, theft, spam, fire, spawn camping, lava dumping, chat trolling, advertising and more, so you don't have to undo any damage after the fact. It even teaches players how to use it so you don't have to! No configuration or database required. Stop responding to grief and prevent it instead. Grief Prevention will solve your grief problems without requiring you to manage a roster of trained administrators, juggle 10 different anti-grief plugins, take away cool standard game features, publish a training manual / tutorial for players, or add explanatory signs to your world. You can also choose to integrate PvP elements into build design to finally get a PvP experience befitting a sandbox game about creative building.
Grief Prevention stops grief before it starts automatically without any effort from administrators, and with very little (self service) effort from players. Solve all your grief problems with a single download, no database, and no configuration step.

Please Vote for Grief Prevention
I've also posted Grief Prevention on the Spigot site, where plugins are ranked based on reviews. If you love GP, please take a couple of minutes to give GP your rating and leave a short review. Better rating and positive reviews will help server owners who look for plugins on the Spigot site make the safe choice (GP) instead of downloading something sketchy or incomplete. :) Thanks so much for all your support!

Ops can use /ignoreclaims to override claim protection and do anything they want, like modifying the world, using claimed buttons and levers, and modifying container inventory.
@Dr_Proffesor
Sorry professor, I meant which build of grief prevention do you have? That's in the startup logs as well.

Mike if you set grief prevention to pvp on, all that means is that grief prevention won't try to stop you. It doesn't prevent other plugins from allowing pvp. So yes, set grief prevention pvp to on, then use world guard or whatever to set pvp on or off by world. It will work fine.

well its meant to be simpler and less work for admins, and pvp isnt a bad thing, although there will be whining its wat makes a game a game, if everyone had it great theres no challenge and therefore no game, however i know some servers have a mix and yeah its a pain to not be able to fine tune it, but it seems not possible at the moment, i'd wait till bigscary does his usual rounds

Posted Mar 21, 2012Ok. Its just really putting me in a predicament, cause I absolutely love this plugin, but I just cannot seem to have it let go of handling PVP on or off. If I can just make it ignore the PVP toggling all together, that would be fine. But as is, I cannot have it let go and let me use another plugin (essentials) that will let me set PVP to off, and then assign permissions to groups that can have it on. Its just all or nothing with GriefPrevention.

well i meant the siege feature, if you meant the core anti-pvp (spawn protection etc) then i dont think that is configurable, if you read the config and nodes and found nothing then i'd say you cant turn if off, will have to see what bigscary thinks, he may treat it like the anti-fire

Posted Mar 21, 2012Well, is there a way to just not have GriefPrevention handle PvP at all? Because it seems to override any other plugin that handles it, or is there a specific plugin that you know of that will take higher priority to override GriefPrevention?

the pvp feature is new and incomplete (technically) per world pvp is something that was hinted to be included at a later date
@QuakeyPoo
afaik yes they can, however if your using permissions then you may need to look at the perms page, http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/grief-prevention/pages/Administrative-Details/

Posted Mar 21, 2012Hiya! Great plugin!
I have a question. Can OP's look into the first chest? Am I missing a permission for that? I need to at least be able to check inside that chest.
Thanks again!

Posted Mar 21, 2012I have MultiVerse with this plugin, and I have a separate world set up to allow PvP, but to the best of my knowledge, this plugin either makes all worlds PvP or no PvP. Is there a permission I am missing, or some way to set it to where world "X" can be PvP and world "Y" cannot? Thanks!!

I'll make some adjustments to the lava code in the next version. Specifically, it will always be okay to place lava under someone since it can't flow onto them, and you'll be able to place lava closer to someone in your claim than you can in the wilderness.
@krisdestruction
I'll get it in there somehow. But I don't think it will ever be not-a-mess for people who have a lot of folks trusted. The chat box is just too small to be dumping lots of information.

I'm not putting your plugin down and I'm not trying to say one is superior here. Just trying to add features that help on a larger scale. So there won't be a way to list the trusted players and trust type?

Posted Mar 21, 2012I don't want to even suggest adding more to your workload, but do you remember how I asked about the lava-range:15 thing, and how you said if it was actually causing a problem, you might consider it? Well, it has. In fact of of my closest mods, along with a few players have threatened to leave until it's fixed. Normally I'd just be like, "LOL Whatevs", but they have donated, and frankly that just isn't fair to them. Now I have two choices, return here and practically beg that you update, or I lose about 5 close members of my server, or downgrade to the version before you added lava range, and not be able to update to any newer version just because of this one little thing,. I know "it's my server" but, I'm not one of those people who just says "screw what the people say, I'll do what I want". (There's a lot of trustworthy people who like to build together on my server, and the cool stuff they make together has a lot to do with lava)
Here's an example of something they had spent all night doing, but when they found out about the lava thing, only one person worked on it. They like to build in groups, and typically use stupid amounts of lava, so yeah.
http://i847.photobucket.com/albums/ab39/xBladeM6x/2012-03-21_123255.png
Anyways, If you do decide to add in a lava-range: 15 option, I suppose adding it in the config, or just giving a permission to ignore it would suffice. I figure that giving people options is better than taking a plugin they may only use for the plots / actual protection, and then forcing an non-configurable, and plugin altering update on them. Can't even begin to describe how much I'd appreciate if you do this.

You're on your own, just use the long form of whichever one isn't working. That's just what happens when aliases conflict.

Posted Mar 20, 2012With the "Admin ability to resize anyone's claim", you really need to allow us to remove any claim.
I'm sure it's planned, but throwing that out there. ^^
Loving it so far!
