Grief Prevention
AUTOMATICALLY PREVENTS ALL FORMS OF GRIEF, including build/break, theft, spam, fire, spawn camping, lava dumping, chat trolling, advertising and more, so you don't have to undo any damage after the fact. It even teaches players how to use it so you don't have to! No configuration or database required. Stop responding to grief and prevent it instead. Grief Prevention will solve your grief problems without requiring you to manage a roster of trained administrators, juggle 10 different anti-grief plugins, take away cool standard game features, publish a training manual / tutorial for players, or add explanatory signs to your world. You can also choose to integrate PvP elements into build design to finally get a PvP experience befitting a sandbox game about creative building.
Grief Prevention stops grief before it starts automatically without any effort from administrators, and with very little (self service) effort from players. Solve all your grief problems with a single download, no database, and no configuration step.

Please Vote for Grief Prevention
I've also posted Grief Prevention on the Spigot site, where plugins are ranked based on reviews. If you love GP, please take a couple of minutes to give GP your rating and leave a short review. Better rating and positive reviews will help server owners who look for plugins on the Spigot site make the safe choice (GP) instead of downloading something sketchy or incomplete. :) Thanks so much for all your support!

Posted Nov 23, 2014@bigscary the UUID conversion is way too slow I started it this morning and am now in the process of restoring my backups It was converting about 4 a minute, at that rate it would take 190 days before it finished all my player data.
The rate limit on UUID lookups is 60 request per 1 minute and you can put 100 users in each request.
If you can do that, I won't have to wait until July for my conversion to be finished.
Thanks!

Posted Nov 23, 20141. I got this false positive on an username:
"GriefPrevention: Muted IP address from shelshockinbacca: /msg cr33p3rg1r1 hey". It seems that GP thinks cr33p3rg1r1 is an IP address. Thanks for taking a look
2. I love /softmute. Could you please add timed softmute for temporarily muting a player?

Posted Nov 22, 2014Using 8.8.1, I've noticed a somewhat new bug. It seems shortly after I highlighted a claim and started moving away from the claim, tons of gold blocks and glowstone blocks start to show up on the boundaries of the loaded chunks, and not sure why. Screenshot of what it looks like: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/3537654/Web_Shared/2014-11-22_22.20.08.png
This didn't happen after checking every claim as far as I could tell, just after I checked one, and stays there even after checking and unclaimed area.

Posted Nov 22, 2014HI, is there any way that all chests that are placed can be auto-protected? Likewise, is there a way to make it that no chests are protected when created the first time? It would save me from having LWC. Thanks.

Thanks. I appreciate it very much. I'll test to see if 9.1 fixed it and report back soon. For now I'll send you the download for cauldron 1.7.10 recommended version through private message if that is ok with you

Posted Nov 22, 2014The new GriefPrevention API breaks Skript (Because of the addition of the Material in "allowBuild(Player, Location, Material)"
It would be good if you kept the two functions (the old allowBuild(Player, Location) and the new allowBuild(Player, Location, Material))
I tried to edit the GriefPrevention Source to add the old allowBuild, and it worked perfectly in my Test Server, but in my Public Server, it crashed on Startup...
Please, could you readd the old allowBuild?

I will be away from my desktop PC this week, which means I won't be able to test any changes. I don't release untested changes, so no releases this week. :) I will try to keep up with answering comments. Happy turkey day, everyone!

Yes, please share your claim data with me! I'd like to have it for boot performance improvement work. I don't need the player data.
Yeah, playernames > UUIDs are now converting in batches, and I don't call Mojang for UUIDs unless I can't find the UUID already in your local server data.

Posted Nov 21, 2014I am so happy this project is being maintained regularly again! This is awesome!
I was wondering why you made the UUID conversion do one player at a time rather than using the option to do 100 at a time (per second). This would speed up the conversion greatly.
I am talking about this:
Playernames -> UUIDs
Thank again for this awesome plugin.
Someone on here (I do not remember who or when) was asking if I could provide a copy of my flat file database to test performance (13154 players, 5526 claims). Do you still need that?
Thanks.

And I'm guessing Cauldron was taken down by the dmca? Where can I get it? I'm glad you're having some patience with me - the ramp up on this not-craftbukkit server stuff is painful.
EDIT: I'm about to be away from my desktop pc for a week, which means I won't be able to test any changes I put in. I'm going to make a wild guess at how to fix your problem today, then release it and see how it goes. But, I still do want the answer to that "where's cauldron?" question, in case my guess doesn't work.
@SuperPyroManiac
It might be that you don't have the YAML syntax exactly right. Also, make sure you're using the right name for the item. Here's the list:
http://jd.bukkit.org/beta/doxygen/d9/db0/Material_8java_source.html
There may also be a hint about the problem in your boot logs.

Some servers are crashing due to the horrendous lag generated by searching all offline players. I agree it's important, but it's not as important as having your server not crash. Unfortunately, I can't code "if it will crash, don't do it, otherwise do". :(
Cache for some but not others won't work - if you're running a big server and get a cache miss, you crash. You're gambling every time you try to use a command with an offline player.
Next version will be a little better - players will be cached when you see their name, for example if you use a stick to see who a land claim belongs to - then that player will also be cached and available, even if he hasn't been on in a while.
@xSnowBlitzz718
Argh, this pixelmon business is difficult for me. I got the forge, I got the pixelmon, I got both the client and the server working... but how do I get GriefPrevention installed, now? I tried dropping it in the "plugins" and "mods" folders, but nothing. What else do I need to do to get bukkit plugins working on a pixelmon + forge server?

With 9.0, if I do /claimslist for a player who hasn't been on recently, I get "player not found". I know you're trying to improve performance, but getting the claimslist of any player is really important. e.g., a player that's been gone for months, and we want to delete his claims. The cache is probably good for 90% of the cases, but we still need to get results all the time; the other 10% can be the ones that are a little slow.
