Grief Prevention
AUTOMATICALLY PREVENTS ALL FORMS OF GRIEF, including build/break, theft, spam, fire, spawn camping, lava dumping, chat trolling, advertising and more, so you don't have to undo any damage after the fact. It even teaches players how to use it so you don't have to! No configuration or database required. Stop responding to grief and prevent it instead. Grief Prevention will solve your grief problems without requiring you to manage a roster of trained administrators, juggle 10 different anti-grief plugins, take away cool standard game features, publish a training manual / tutorial for players, or add explanatory signs to your world. You can also choose to integrate PvP elements into build design to finally get a PvP experience befitting a sandbox game about creative building.
Grief Prevention stops grief before it starts automatically without any effort from administrators, and with very little (self service) effort from players. Solve all your grief problems with a single download, no database, and no configuration step.

Please Vote for Grief Prevention
I've also posted Grief Prevention on the Spigot site, where plugins are ranked based on reviews. If you love GP, please take a couple of minutes to give GP your rating and leave a short review. Better rating and positive reviews will help server owners who look for plugins on the Spigot site make the safe choice (GP) instead of downloading something sketchy or incomplete. :) Thanks so much for all your support!

Posted Nov 15, 2014Can someone please help me? When I try to build on my creative freebuild server, it says I have to claim land first or do /ignoreclaims to override. But, I don't want me or my players to have to claim land to build, or use /ignoreclaims (which I don't give to my players). Please help!!!! Thanks!

"I think I've discovered the problem - likely, your dev needs to give permissions using the player's UUID instead of the player's name."
Can I suggest deprecating old methods which use strings and creating new methods which take UUIDs? It's un-natural to pass a UUID in as a String and deprecating these methods will make more developers aware of the change.

They can place it normally, by right clicking.

Posted Nov 14, 2014I thought placing those in the config would disallow players from placing the mod blocks down on admin claims but it doesnt. http://puu.sh/cRl90/6e4e17753d.png
I was still able to place stuff even with no permission to http://puu.sh/cRlaG/ce089643d5.png but not able to break, which is normal. The placing part though, how do I stop it?

Posted Nov 14, 2014Just wondering if its my config or something else.
I have a lot of younger players on my server, and oh how they love to use CAPS.
One of Gp's features is that it blocks caps, but, it does'nt seem to be blocking anything.
Anyone else experiance this?

Oh! I thought you'd find it rather anoying if I post too often :p I'll try my best to post more often! Tomorrowevening I'll deffinately post one since it's the most active evening of the whole week. And wooooh! I'm going to update my density asap! :D
And well... I would love to fly over to Seattle but that's just way too expensive :)
Also I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for keeping this plugin up to date and improving performances! Many of us would be nowhere with the beta builds we had a month back! I'm happy to have contacted you to get you back on track!
EDIT: I almost forgot. You should go ahead and make a resource (for gp and pop dens) on spigot aswel. They've been working on the 1.8 builds and are (I think) pretty close to a release!

WOOHOO! Lookin' good. xD I wonder how much better I can get it? Lately I've been looking forward to getting timings from you like a kid on Xmas vacation. Thanks much!
Player bed enter cost should vanish in the current build.
Oh and hey, it looks like your PopDensity is way out of date. :) Lots of improvements lately since I rejoined that project as well.

@mcly
I think I've discovered the problem - likely, your dev needs to give permissions using the player's UUID instead of the player's name.
@Turbotailz
I'll look into that, thanks for the report.
@xSnowBlitzz718
If fixing the syntax (as switorik suggested) doesn't help, then the problem might be that the mod which adds those blocks doesn't play by the rules, and is circumventing anti grief. In that case, there would be nothing I can do.
Can you explain how the blocks are placed? Are the players directly placing them by holding them in their hands and right clicking, or are they using some tool created by the mod?

Yes, it seems that it might only apply to admin's subdivided claims. There's no specific player who incorrectly shows up as "someone", anyone who's given build trust and permissions trust in that admin's subdivision is shown up as "someone".
The /rent plugin is created by my plugin dev, whenever someone type /rent while standing on admin's subclaims (they're called spawn plots on my server), they can rent the already defined admin's subdivided claim for a period of time. The plugin only gives them build and permissionstrust. The thing is, when players type /rent, or when I manually give trust in subclaim, it automatically changes them to "someone"

Well that's VERY strange - there shouldn't be any player names in this file at all, only UUIDs. What is the name of one of the players who incorrectly shows up as "someone"?
Can you tell me more about this "rent" command? Is it from another plugin, or do you have it set up in your commands.yml? If the latter, what are the commands it runs?
@nightrdr
Sounds like an easy fix, thanks for letting me know. I will look into it this week, probably today. :)
