Grief Prevention
AUTOMATICALLY PREVENTS ALL FORMS OF GRIEF, including build/break, theft, spam, fire, spawn camping, lava dumping, chat trolling, advertising and more, so you don't have to undo any damage after the fact. It even teaches players how to use it so you don't have to! No configuration or database required. Stop responding to grief and prevent it instead. Grief Prevention will solve your grief problems without requiring you to manage a roster of trained administrators, juggle 10 different anti-grief plugins, take away cool standard game features, publish a training manual / tutorial for players, or add explanatory signs to your world. You can also choose to integrate PvP elements into build design to finally get a PvP experience befitting a sandbox game about creative building.
Grief Prevention stops grief before it starts automatically without any effort from administrators, and with very little (self service) effort from players. Solve all your grief problems with a single download, no database, and no configuration step.

Please Vote for Grief Prevention
I've also posted Grief Prevention on the Spigot site, where plugins are ranked based on reviews. If you love GP, please take a couple of minutes to give GP your rating and leave a short review. Better rating and positive reviews will help server owners who look for plugins on the Spigot site make the safe choice (GP) instead of downloading something sketchy or incomplete. :) Thanks so much for all your support!

Posted Jul 7, 2014I have used the plugin for some time and I'm now using the latest dev build. But every five minutes I get lag spikes on my server. And it's because of GriefPrevention. I tried running without it and the lag spikes disappeared. I get this in the console:
12:00:39 CONSOLE: WARN]: Can't keep up! Did the system time change, or is the server overloaded? Running 7367ms behind, skipping 147 tick(s)
12:05:43 CONSOLE: WARN]: Can't keep up! Did the system time change, or is the server overloaded? Running 6078ms behind, skipping 121 tick(s)
12:10:47 CONSOLE: WARN]: Can't keep up! Did the system time change, or is the server overloaded? Running 5902ms behind, skipping 118 tick(s)
12:15:51 CONSOLE: WARN]: Can't keep up! Did the system time change, or is the server overloaded? Running 5770ms behind, skipping 115 tick(s)
12:20:57 CONSOLE: WARN]: Can't keep up! Did the system time change, or is the server overloaded? Running 7743ms behind, skipping 154 tick(s)
12:26:01 CONSOLE: WARN]: Can't keep up! Did the system time change, or is the server overloaded? Running 5980ms behind, skipping 119 tick(s)
12:31:05 CONSOLE: WARN]: Can't keep up! Did the system time change, or is the server overloaded? Running 6258ms behind, skipping 125 tick(s)
12:36:09 CONSOLE: WARN]: Can't keep up! Did the system time change, or is the server overloaded? Running 5997ms behind, skipping 119 tick(s)
See it's every five minutes. Almost to the second. What in the plugin might be causing this?

I think this plugin is perfect for survival servers (and others), but is a lot complicated for config and have many features unnecessary, if I want only the protection, no more, is almost impossible disable the other features. Should have options for disable the rest of plugin.. This plugin is excellent and have BIG future because is simple for noobs use. Plugins like a residence, world guard, and others is a lot complicated for new players. If you make the plugin easy for configure and a option to disable all features, certainly you will have millions of downloads and money (residence, world guard, lokkete: are abandoned no new feature or attempt of developers for simplify the use). This is the moment. Sorry for the bad english.

Posted Jul 6, 2014Okay for some reason some of the permission are not working. Ive tried 2 different permission nodes and they are still not working! The perms that are not working are the /ignoreclaims /adminclaims the only way that you can use these commands is if your oped. I want to get these to work so my staff can use them without being OP. Here is my permissions file http://pastebin.com/G86x2g5g

Posted Jul 6, 2014Hello everyone, just a small update on the status of the plugin.
I've been away for quite some time, and in the mean time BC_Programming has been maintaining the plugin. However brilliant he is at programming he doesn't always make things user friendly. Also, with the big UUID stuff coming up it's been a mess for the codebase of the plugin. So, here's the deal: I've already spent around 6 hours trying to convert this mess to UUID and I'm only approximately 25% of the way done. I estimate that I'm going to spend around 24 hours on this plugin just to convert it to UUID. After that I have all the bug fixes, etc. to complete, which I estimate will take another good 12 hours for a total of 36 hours. This is quite the workload for a free plugin and will be done as I have spare time. The total worth of this time however is a whopping $720! Now, I'm not saying get your wallets out and pay me for this, however, I do have a proposal/question:
What would you guys say if I was to start up a Kickstarter for this project with the goal being $1000. I would have rewards and such on it if we were to meet this goal. If we did meet the goal of $1000 (remember, part of that money would go towards rewards), I would dedicate myself full time to GriefPrevention for an entire 2 weeks, ironing out all the bugs and getting it UUID ready and presenting a final release which is easy to use and of release quality. Would you guys support something like this?

Posted Jul 6, 2014Hi
So I've been using GriefPrevention for a while now, and haven't really had an issue with configuring it. Well, until I updated to 7.8. I now can't change it to where people can kill other people's pets in a claimed area. I want to set it so that untrusted people CAN kill the creatures which are in a claimed area.
This is how it currently looks in the config: CreatureDamage: Wilderness: AboveSeaLevel: Allow BelowSeaLevel: Allow SeaLevel: '-1' Claims: AboveSeaLevel: Allow BelowSeaLevel: Allow SeaLevel: '-1' ClaimControl: RequireNone
So can someone explain to me why the creatures are still protected by the claim? Because I'm running out of ideas. Thank you in advance!

Cheers!

I'm working on it... Do you even know how much work is involved to convert a huge monstrosity of a plugin like this to use UUID?!?! I'm ripping it up from the inside out with lots of API changes among other things. I've got over 60 classes I have to comb through with an average of 500 lines per file. That's 30,000 lines of code I have to pick through, debug, and make sure they all work, as well as making sure the conversion works perfectly as well. Would you like to do this for me?

Will it work? Probably but we can't know without 1.8... ya know, existing. Will people lose their stuff if they change their name? Yes. At least in the current version.

Try opening .jar file of griefprevention that you're using and u'll find config.yml there copy it and paste to your server folder where griefprevention folder is and then modify settings or re-download plugin and delete old config files.

And as I have said, that option "WildernessWarningBlockCount" is not in the config, this is why i was asking if there was a specific option i can ADD to my config to make this work. Thanks for providing the name of the setting though, Ill try adding that in when i get home and see what happens, but the option is not in the config file as it stands now, im not an idiot and i certainly can read ... the option is simply not there.
But as I said, ill add it into the config and see what happens, or maybe i need an update or something, idk. Ill look into it.

Posted Jul 2, 2014Jeez. I'm sure it's for the best, but 7.8 seems significantly more complicated than 7.7 was. Also, when will it support UUIDs?
