Grief Prevention
AUTOMATICALLY PREVENTS ALL FORMS OF GRIEF, including build/break, theft, spam, fire, spawn camping, lava dumping, chat trolling, advertising and more, so you don't have to undo any damage after the fact. It even teaches players how to use it so you don't have to! No configuration or database required. Stop responding to grief and prevent it instead. Grief Prevention will solve your grief problems without requiring you to manage a roster of trained administrators, juggle 10 different anti-grief plugins, take away cool standard game features, publish a training manual / tutorial for players, or add explanatory signs to your world. You can also choose to integrate PvP elements into build design to finally get a PvP experience befitting a sandbox game about creative building.
Grief Prevention stops grief before it starts automatically without any effort from administrators, and with very little (self service) effort from players. Solve all your grief problems with a single download, no database, and no configuration step.

Please Vote for Grief Prevention
I've also posted Grief Prevention on the Spigot site, where plugins are ranked based on reviews. If you love GP, please take a couple of minutes to give GP your rating and leave a short review. Better rating and positive reviews will help server owners who look for plugins on the Spigot site make the safe choice (GP) instead of downloading something sketchy or incomplete. :) Thanks so much for all your support!

Posted Feb 13, 2014at darmamoo (EDITED to correct my previous interpretation of your question and change in GP config:)
To expand on @mineraccident's response, note the 7.8 beta configuration page is misleading. It refers to a "GriefPrevention.Claims.NoSurvivalBuildingOutsideClaims" setting which, at least in the more recent dev builds, has disappeared and I suspect has been replaced. Take a look at the GriefPrevention/WorldConfigs/<worldname>/.yml file "Rules" section for:
BlockPlacement:
Wilderness:
AboveSeaLevel: Allow
BelowSeaLevel: Allow
Try setting both to Deny for wilderness and then issue gpreload on console or /gpreload as an admin user in the game. You may want to deny other capabilities in the wilderness such as "BlockBreaking:". Experiment with settings to see if you can achieve your desired results.

Scroll down a few comments here and see if the problem you are having looks like the one I reported. I included a picture.
If you don't dig down a block where the claim marker should be or look at a cross section, it would lead you to believe it is not appearing at all.

GP protection in general (for a particular world)?
1) Go to the GriefPrevention/WorldConfigs folder. 2) Open the config file for the intended world. 3) Follow the indented config sections until you find a first indent level "Enabled: true" and set it to false. For me it is the first instance after the PVP section and above " SeaLevelOverride:" 4) Issue gpreload on console or /gpreload as an admin user in the game.

Posted Feb 12, 2014Is it possible to only allow players to build in claimed land? For example, they don't have permission to build in the world at all but once they claim land with the gold spade, they're able to build.

You can change that behavior by changing ClaimControl setting to "RequireAccess" for FenceGates. Also might consider that change for WoodenDoors as well. These settings can be found in the GriefPrevention\WorldConfigs\<worldname>.yml file.

Posted Feb 12, 2014I didnt get my first question answered, but I have another problem.
I had a user log on today and had -3000 Claim blocks out of the blue? His playtime is 1d:10h:23m:23s at 100 claim blocks per hour, he should be +3000 ? Whats the cause of this? Its done a complete switch.
Using: GriefPrevention-b214.jar 7.8

Posted Feb 11, 2014Running craftbukkit-1.7.2-R0.3-dev-3019 and GP dev build 274, claim borders (on inspect using stick tool) are appearing one block under the surface (determined by a cross section view). So under normal "look down" viewing, do not appear at all. Claim owner/info is still displayed.
Anyone else seeing this? I understand these are both dev builds. I am reporting this before it could become a problem that surfaces in subsequent releases.

Posted Feb 10, 20147.8 and Later, In a siege (chests are default unlocked) that 5 mins or so during after the user has won, is there a way to allow them to break weak blocks in this winning time? Users have been putting blocks on top of chests, so when they loose a siege people cannot get into their chests.
