Grief Prevention
AUTOMATICALLY PREVENTS ALL FORMS OF GRIEF, including build/break, theft, spam, fire, spawn camping, lava dumping, chat trolling, advertising and more, so you don't have to undo any damage after the fact. It even teaches players how to use it so you don't have to! No configuration or database required. Stop responding to grief and prevent it instead. Grief Prevention will solve your grief problems without requiring you to manage a roster of trained administrators, juggle 10 different anti-grief plugins, take away cool standard game features, publish a training manual / tutorial for players, or add explanatory signs to your world. You can also choose to integrate PvP elements into build design to finally get a PvP experience befitting a sandbox game about creative building.
Grief Prevention stops grief before it starts automatically without any effort from administrators, and with very little (self service) effort from players. Solve all your grief problems with a single download, no database, and no configuration step.

Please Vote for Grief Prevention
I've also posted Grief Prevention on the Spigot site, where plugins are ranked based on reviews. If you love GP, please take a couple of minutes to give GP your rating and leave a short review. Better rating and positive reviews will help server owners who look for plugins on the Spigot site make the safe choice (GP) instead of downloading something sketchy or incomplete. :) Thanks so much for all your support!

Posted Sep 2, 2013I know you may have said this in the video, and possibly in the description as well, but I am revamping my server that I admin for a twitch caster and I was looking for new plugins to use and i LOVE this!!! However I am curious if I can disable some protection features like the inability to place water or lava outside claimed areas? Or to have settings for one world that is different from another for a multiworld server?

Yikes okay well I will try to control this as much as possible. Is there a way to simply disallow claims from being changed by anybody but the owner.
I am/was aware of the issue with them converting however I believe you told me as long as they were locked they should remain. On this same build all other claims that are claimed by
"administrator" seem to stick fine when locked its only this one particular claim. its not a huge issue because i have compensated for keeping players from building under the spawn but it seems there is something here thats unique to this type of claim. Oh also oddly this claim is BLUE on dynmap if that tells you aythign where all other claims are red.

Posted Sep 2, 2013_Snoogles_ maybe it is spawn protection from a different plugin or something like it.
I had the same problem I was going to start a GP only protection on my server no worldguard or essentials protection it was working fine people were like wow this server is so stable I was like yeah we only have all griefprevention claims protection ect.
The players were happy and the one day the spawn are admin claim disappeared and it was reduced in size griefprevention said it some how still had it there but when I would fly around it wasn't physically there.
so I /stop the server installed worldguard :..(
the whitelisted my server and made a region claim on it.
After I re-opened starwarscraft.com people were like what happened...
Removed griefprevention now I keep looing at this site to see if it will update and maybe I can be tempted to donate.

Posted Sep 2, 2013@Awsmpossum1313 Resizing a claim will change the available claim blocks of the claim owner. The message displays the available claim blocks of the player performing the resize. It also prevents some calculations from occuring if the player resizing the claim is not the owner of the claim, so while the available claim blocks of the owner should be reduced it won't prevent them from becoming negative. I'll change this if I remember, next time I work on GP.
Admin claims until recently in dev builds were reverted to normal claims belonging to a non-existent player named "an administrator". This made them susceptible to claim cleanup and they got deleted in many cases.

Posted Sep 2, 2013Okay this is a big issue. It appears that a player trusted on a claim can expand that persons claim indefinitely bypassing claim block limits. The owner maintains ownership and GP sees it as valid.
My other issue is:
Vanishing claim. I have a claim that consistently vanishes. Unfortunately its the claim that blocks off my spawn. This then opens up the land under for people to claim that then triggers removing hunks of my spawn.
I have claimed as administrator and locked the claim. All other administrator claims seem to stay fine however this one does not and i cant figure out why. It also seems that grief prevention will ignore world guard permissions so this isnt a valid solution.
Is there some sort claim size limit that is causing it to purge? It seems to do the removal at reboot. It clearly is locked I quadruple checked but for some reason only that VERY large claim gets removed. I have battled this about 5 times thinking i was doing something wrong i am convinced at this time that this isnt something i am doing.
Any ideas? Suggestions?

That cannot be made to work either; Claim blocks accumulate over time.
I turned this feature off (I want land to be based off ranks not time)
What happens if a permission is removed?are those totals subtracted? Do they stop at zero?Do they become negative?
The permissions would not change or be removed
What if a Player has multiple permissions with various values,
Precious stones has this feature. I give a default amount and I just simply add a permission even if they have like 5 different permissions all for different amounts of land protection, the precious stones goes with the highest value.
The same thing happens with essentials.sethome.multiple. It will always go with the highest value.
- preciousstones.limit1 (this is the default)
- preciousstones.limit2 (for member rank)
- preciousstones.limit19 (mod donor 4)

Every command can accept a permission node. if you give a group a given permission node, you can give all players with that permission a given number of blocks. I believe it also works for things such as /trust.
You cannot directly change the number of claim blocks a player has by simply changing permissions. That cannot be made to work either; Claim blocks accumulate over time.
Let's go with your idea. Let's say we have some permission like ""BonusClaimBlocks.1000".
What happens if a permission is removed? are those totals subtracted? Do they stop at zero? Do they become negative? What if a Player has multiple permissions with various values, what if they have negative BonusClaimBlocks permission values? How does the plugin detect when those permissions change to affect the total claim blocks of a player? if a player is given the .500 permission. but has a .1000 taken away, how does the plugin know to subtract 500?
It doesn't. such a 'permission'-based setup simply doesn't make much sense IMO.

I would really like for your plugin to have this feature because it will be very hard to issue commands to around 2000 individuals without wring some sort of script.
/adjustbonusclaimblocks [permission]
some commands can accept a permission node name in square brackets instead of a player name.

Posted Sep 1, 2013Truly a great plugin, however I do have one complaint.
I have about 2000 Players who all have different ranks. I currently use precious stones for player land protection. Currently precious stones has a permission node to adjust how much each group total land they can protect.
I would really like for your plugin to have this feature because it will be very hard to issue commands to around 2000 individuals without wring some sort of script.
/AdjustBonusClaimBlocks should be kept obviously. There should be a permission like "BonusClaimBlocks.1000"
Thanks for reading! :)

Does the wither not destroy blocks no matter what?
Dev builds feature Rules for Wither Explosions, Wither Eating, and Wither Breaking Blocks using the new Rules framework. These are set in the configuration file. /claimexplosions will only allow explosions that are also allowed according to that configuration.
I do not know about 7.7 and Earlier. I don't recall any particularly special logic dealing with and preventing the Explosions from Wither Skulls or the Wither being summoned; both should work with /claimexplosions enabled.
If possible, can you add the ability for the claim owner to turn this feature on/off?
Yes. I can. But I won't, because what is and is not allowed is determined first and foremost by the server owner, and only then are possibilities delegated to the owners of claims.
I recently made a wither tree farm on a server running this plugin and would like it to function, lol.
Most of the people running GriefPrevention probably don't care if your wither tree farm functions.

No, those are the nodes it uses right now.
I'll change it. Clearly this is a serious issue that demands my immediate attention... heh
EDIT: Fixed. It also changes much of the API involving Sieges, though I suspect few Add-ons actually use it.
EDIT 2: Also updated the doc page to #169, though I may have missed some changes.

I'm not sure. Probably depends on the permission system. If they are you want all lowercase.
