Grief Prevention
AUTOMATICALLY PREVENTS ALL FORMS OF GRIEF, including build/break, theft, spam, fire, spawn camping, lava dumping, chat trolling, advertising and more, so you don't have to undo any damage after the fact. It even teaches players how to use it so you don't have to! No configuration or database required. Stop responding to grief and prevent it instead. Grief Prevention will solve your grief problems without requiring you to manage a roster of trained administrators, juggle 10 different anti-grief plugins, take away cool standard game features, publish a training manual / tutorial for players, or add explanatory signs to your world. You can also choose to integrate PvP elements into build design to finally get a PvP experience befitting a sandbox game about creative building.
Grief Prevention stops grief before it starts automatically without any effort from administrators, and with very little (self service) effort from players. Solve all your grief problems with a single download, no database, and no configuration step.

Please Vote for Grief Prevention
I've also posted Grief Prevention on the Spigot site, where plugins are ranked based on reviews. If you love GP, please take a couple of minutes to give GP your rating and leave a short review. Better rating and positive reviews will help server owners who look for plugins on the Spigot site make the safe choice (GP) instead of downloading something sketchy or incomplete. :) Thanks so much for all your support!

@Stevensaurus
They are not stored in the source code (JAR file). They're in a subfolder of the plugins folder.
@kraftman
Yep. Still trying to understand the advantage of such a configuration? Just curious - no one has told me even though I've asked.
@deleted_9935739
Delete the files, or delete the rows from your claims table in your database. Use file search for the former, or write a delete statement for the latter. Before you say "why don't you add a command for this?" I'll tell you - it's a security thing. If there were a command for that, some admin who decides he's gonna grief or some griefer who manages to crack an admin account password could permanently wipe a huge amount of data in seconds. This way, only someone who has direct access to the file system or database can make such a destructive change.
@xclucky
Nope, that doesn't work either. :) Check again. Also make sure you're not in /ignoreclaims mode. Before you say it - I also checked explosions just now.
@RustyDagger
Sorry, ForgeBukkit is known to be a wreck (very poor support of plugins). Consider switching to MCPC, if that's an option for you.
Thanks, I'll try to remember to change the player docs.
@GumbyDammit
Hmm... since you don't have a sea, it's probably best to set it to 0 for the override. Sea level determines a few things like how deep /restorenature reaches by default (barely below sea level), where players are allowed to dump lava and water when outside of land claims (far below sea level), and where creeper and TNT explosions are not allowed to break blocks (above sea level).

I have having what seems to be sporadic messages from the plugin when ever I try to do any thing some times even with conflicting information such as you don't have enough blocks for that and the corner has been set you have X left...
I am running a Dw20 FTB server with bukkit Forge build 212.
I know its quite likely being caused by Bukkitforge not doing some thing as the plugin expected maybe its playing spaz with the player aimBlock?
also some of the messages seem to be cut off as if the chat box cant hold the full message :o
One last thing the Docs on the player page still said to use string to get info when its now been changed to a stick.

CB 1.4.7-R1.0 and Griefprevention 7.6. Basic Craftbukkit, no spout, no spigot, no craftbukkitplusplus.
EDIT:
Apparently the player trusted me for whatever reason... >.> Disregard my prior comment. xD
EDIT 2:
You can shoot item frames off with a bow though. Fix this <<< xD

Sorry about that, I looked through the comments for a while and couldn't find a reply. Guess I'm just bad at looking for things; so where do the claims save, anyway? I'd think that if I deleted the .jar and plugin folder I'd lose all of the claims.

Like we told you before, they won't be deleted in any case. If you continue to repost questions without reading the responses first, you won't be permitted to post here any more.
@romenas
I'll see what I can do about it.
@ha11oga11o
Not sure, let me check the code against your stack trace and get back to you.
@elirock12
Then update to the newest version.
@ManBeastPigDev
Basically the tree will be replanted if it's not entirely cut down, meaning that some of it is left hanging in the air. If it's entirely cut, it will not be replanted.
@TheReverend403
Sorry, not gonna happen. Why are you reloading often?
@xclucky
Which CB/GP versions are you on? And is it for real CB, or something like MCPC or BukkitForge or Spigot or CraftBukkitPlusPlus?
@stewmeister8807
I don't know the details of what that hosting provider sets up for you, sorry. Generally, the plugin will work on modded servers if the server has good Bukkit plugin support, if you pick the right version of Grief Prevention to match your CraftBukkit version, and if you configure it correctly (see notes for Tekkit servers above, and keep in mind that you may not be running Tekkit Classic).
@johnbrasil
@GumbyDammit
Thanks, I'm checking it out.
@RekkGaming
I'm guessing you have the wrong version of GP. Make sure you're using a version which is compatible with the version of CraftBukkit you have on your server.
@ridddle
Nope. All that talk about /reload being highly destructive is hyperbole. Yes, that area has had bugs before, but they are fixed or are getting fixed. All software has bugs - that doesn't mean you should stop using all software. Actually, the likelihood is that I would introduce worse GP bugs when I add a /gpreload than the problems you're already experiencing, which is why I don't want to try it. Besides, it's infrequent to reload the config for GP - you get it right once, then leave it alone, right? Also for the generally paranoid, a scheduled restart for say, 4 in the morning that takes a couple of minutes is an excellent safeguard against sneaky bugs like memory leaks or tasks left running while you wait for them to be fixed.
@OpzijnKop
The workaround is to use /acb to give impacted players more blocks so that they're back to zero. As for how it happened, it could be that either you deleted some player data files somewhere along the way, or you tried to make a backup of your files while the server was running. Either could result in GP not being able to read the data, which would cause the claim block count to reset back to default (treating the player like a new player).
Some have suggested that I automatically fix this, since it seems like it MUST be wrong in all cases. But there are cases where an administrator wants to prevent a specific player from claiming more land without limiting other players, and /acb with a large negative value does exactly that.

Posted Feb 6, 2013Hi,
I have players who suddenly have negative claim blocks.
(let's take a player)
When I do /claimslist is see things like:
2531(+1474)=4005 (-4891) world(461,0,185) (-2112) world(571,4,840) (-8924) world(1158,8,-724)
-11922
And his PlayerData shows:
2013.02.06.19.04.58 2531 1474 world;461;0;185;;world;571;4;840;;world;1158;8;-724
What is going wrong or how do I solve this?
